2011.06.03 Geraldo Rivera's statement on Fox & Friends

Geraldo was on the Fox Report (FNC) hyping tonight's show --- saying he knows about an alleged 'Ace of Spades' that JB is holding (and made it sound like he will be revealing it to us). I'll probably tune in, but I won't be holding my breath waiting for any big revelations.

I wonder if Geraldo's numbers are down...because let's face it, unless the network sees a downtick of viewers, they will have no need to respond to his drivel and encourage him to tone his rhetoric down.

-If this person was given the chance to leave

-If this person acknowledged they were free to leave

-If this person was told the conference room door was closed only for privacy and was not locked

Only an UNREASONABLE person would later attempt a claim of ignorance of being free to walk out at any time, whether their arrival was in the front seat, back seat, or on the hood of the police car.

IMHO...Casey would have loved to even talk more at Universal.

I am listening to the replay of the Universal interview right now and noticed something interesting.

When Sgt Allen says to her [paraphrasing]:
"Everything out of your mouth is a lie...we have got to wonder if you are hiding something...could be that you're little girl is out there in a trash can somewhere right now..."

And Casey is in court listening and SHAKING HER HEAD NO. But we and the jury already KNOW that is the TRUTH. So now we see that Casey shakes her head emphatically, even when the witness is telling the truth.

Actually, I only heard about his latest statement on this case recently. I don't watch him at all. It's really a waste of time to listen to him in my very humble opinion.

I agree with you Kimster. But AZlawyer has an issue with the universal interview. Apparently it must be the wording "The door is unlocked but closed for privacy" verses " You are free to go".See post #69 on this thread.

I don't think the Universal statements would make that much of a difference in an appeal because the DT is already admitting she lied and they are even highlighting her many lies and attempting to use them to support their defense strategy. She lied because George raped her in the morning before school. So allowing the jury to hear this tape does not hurt their case according to the way they are proceeding.

At the start of the interview, Melich says the door is shut but not locked; for privacy. Before he gets too far into the interview (first minute or two), Sgt Allen makes sure to confirm that this is purely voluntary on Casey's part; several times. He also confirms with her that she is there because she asked for help in finding her daughter. I am not a lawyer, but this is the same as saying "you're free to go". She's there because she took them there and she "absolutely" agrees she is there voluntarily. JMO.

Q: Like he said you, you seem like a pretty bright person okay. You’re here willingly, right?
A Uh-huh. (Affirmative)

They make it clear she is there voluntarily and she agrees.
