she is ANGRY. look at tension in her wrist that she is holding to her mouth...she isnt just holding the kleenex, she is making a fist.

He received a notification around 12/11/2008 from Hanson and Dr G. They told him there may be skeletal remains he could assist with. Was not available the first day of recovery. He started assisting at the ME office where the skeletal remains were located. First recollection of seeing the skull was looking the bag, seeing skull, duct tape. Did not interfere with the duct tape. Tore bag so the skull was not handled in any way.

X rays had already been completed. He remembers holding the skull up so photos could be taken of the underside of the skull. Showing photos to jury. Glove in the photo is his hand.

JA asks about mandible. Was mandible in anatomical position? Dr Schultz says yes it was close. Dr. Schultz says it was surprising to find mandible in this position. He believes hair was holding mandible in position as well as leaf litter, roots. Tape was adhered to hair but doesn't recall it holding mandible in place at this time.

JA asks did you find evidence of trauma? Answer: No evidence of trauma.

Says majority of material was not buried but was underneath leaf litter. Arrived on 12/12 at the scene, to begin processing scene. Numerous difficulties: Small child, bones were small, bones were in multiple parts. Heavy wooded environment, lots of surface plant material. Decided to process scene starting there and instructed others to be on hands/knees, removing leaf litter, screening and double checking all material (sifting station).

Starting early today, but Casey is working up the sickness exit again. jmo

I hope not. Costs the State so much $$$ if the trial is adjourned for the day again. Just the hotel bill alone for the jurors is enormous.

ICA head down, holding tissue to her nose, rocking herself back and forth slightly and taking deep breaths. Was just patted by female atty to her left.

I get what you are saying but it can still be a murder with an undetermined COD. Many people have been convicted where there have been bodies that have decomposed beyond a determined COD. Duct tape over the nose and mouth would point to an unnatural death to me. Many DT's try and get their client off by pushing an undetermined COD without being successful.

ETA murderers shouldn't get off just because they were able to hide a body long enough for it to decompose. Personally I think you should get extra time for this.

Maybe age of victim and if hands are bonds but normal people can get duct tape off or move it away enough to breath. So no alone I do not think it is reasonable to think duct alone is always the COD in cases where it is found. Caylee would have got out of it if alive and not asleep or bond enough to breath. 2 year 10 months. She would have found a way to breath arround it.

It does point to an unnatural death but it does not prove one.

Casey's trying to make herself sick again. jmo

I think you're right. Yesterday I thought she was sick because of her guilt, but now I think she's trying to make herself become sick, which is why I think
she is drinking that water.

Okay, definitely heard that...mandible held in place by hair mat NOT duct tape.

So CM did score a mini point.

Dr G reported that the mandible was held in its anatomical position by the duct tape.

It was he who told them to get on their hands and knees.

Okay - I've cracked the Defence Code!
A minute or so ago, ICA was looking pretty natural - just glaring straight ahead.

BUT, as soon as the word "Skull" was brought up, down went the head, up came the kleenex, and "The Thinker" position resumed.

I'm going to watch and see how many times this happens today.

Burpee!!

he is talking now about searching from the skull site out on hands and knees and sifting the leaf debris for more remains
