This is insane. I call a witness. He proves the other side's case making me look like a complete idiot and my client look as guilty as sin. I then try to show that my witness is a liar (because he's a great friend of a state's witness). I smile smugly as if I scored a point. WTH!!!!????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd he just keeps on going as if he can go toe to toe with this brilliant mind......gawd.

I can almost hear "The Man in Black", Johnny Cash..."I hear that train a coming, comin' round the bend..." Love that train..."stuck inside this prison since I don't know when..."

JB just does not understand courtroom decorum or proper courtroom procedures, it is probably obvious to the jury I would assume. Nor can he form proper questions after he gets an objection sustained, he usually has to give 3 or more tries to get a correct question out, or someone has to instruct him at a sidebar exactly what the question should be, like the Judge, IMO, MOO, etc.

We are under a severe thunderstorm warning. If I boot I will rely on YOU guys not IS to catch me up.;)

I disagree. JA was being very aggressive and condescending with Mr. Eichenbloom (sp?). The witness was coming across as very credible and cooperative and I believe JA came off as pompous, dismissive and disrespectful. It wasn't necessary, and made him seem at that point in time unprofessional. I wouldn't be surprised if during the cross examination of this particular witness if the jury took a dislike to JA. It certainly got my attention, and I was wondering what this witness was testifying to that could possibly be threatening to the state's case to provoke such an attitude from JA.
Could be how he jumped on board the DT.
Did the witness testify to anything exculpatory?

Vass is not a chemist??? Who knew?

No Dr. Vass is not a credentialed chemist by degree..but this witness is a chemist and gives alot of credence to Dr. Vass's knowledge base in application of "Chemistry" to his research..in fact Dr. Vass is responsible for setting up protocols for testings due to his "Street Cred knowledge base"..LOL..Hummm Isnt this sort of like what JB is attempting to bolster his own witness Mr. Eikle..... who doesnt even have his degree..PHD or whatevers in his field???..

Yikes I am getting confused with sword and shield useages here:floorlaugh:

I'm going to lend more credibility to a witness who catches and admits to making errors than one who does not.

Every single time I hear that train whistle, I hear:

"When I was just a baby,
My Mama told me, "Son,
Always be a good boy,
Don't ever play with guns,"
But I shot a man in Reno,
Just to watch him die,
When I hear that whistle blowin',
I hang my head and cry."

Found a spot in his notes where he caught his own error...and because it was only a research lab no certain protocols to catch mistakes.

JB trying to show they could have made other mistakes and not caught them.

HELLO JB: Rules of Evidence - you cannot read from any writing that is not in evidence.

This is the most mind-numbing direct examination since the DNA lady was on the stand. Jose Baez must be trying to bore the jury to death.

I suspect that Dr. Vass could attain his degree in chemistry blindfolded and with both hands tied behind his back if he felt the need to.

In fact, he could just test out - no need to go through the course load.
