I am trying to locate a video to replay that and cant find one.. wftv ends after testimony ..

I heard something about a motion to dismiss, which is kind of like the motion for acquittal after the state's argument. One of those formalities that will get shot down. JP said if the DT is to do this it cannot be lawyers spouting off, it needs to be case law specific, so that is what I think it was.

ETA: I just read a little on this and it could be based on the jury instructions - possibly to ask that one or more of the charges get removed, or based on evidence issues... I would love to hear from our legal experts on this..

I'm pages behind so please forgive me if this is duplicate info that has already been posted (but I was impressed by its clarity):

"d. Service as an expert witness (Section 2635.805).

question
My training and experience uniquely qualify me as an expert in my field, and I am often asked to serve in civil trials as an expert witness. What should I do if I receive a request for such service on behalf of a non-Federal party?

answer
Contact your ethics official. Service as an expert witness does require prior approval by an ethics official with authority to give it. Requirements for approval are strictly observed. Each occasion must be individually considered."

Man I wish you could send them a memo ..

<<< Harping on the pool pics. Who put the ladder up? They keep leaving that part out. >>>

And not reporting the body harps suspicion. Marks on Caylee's neck or body indicates drowning.

Why no mention of the fight in the house the day before disappearance? Remember theft of nursing care money & CA with her hands around KC throat. Very telling!

I am thinking the majority of the jurors will be ready to conclude on July4th. Enough is enough. Fireworks will be set off all over the country for Caylee.

Wish I could plan a party with all of you, like the Royal Wedding celebrations!

i use to take picture of my girls back just so u could see there whole hair style

I guess if I want to see what my child's hair looks like I would just ask her to turn around so I could look at it, unless I wanted to save a picture of a hairstyle I had created on my child for posterity. I generally am more interested in my child's/grandchild's face.

This was not the case in this photo though..it was a little girl purported to be Caylee, opening a door she couldn't and shouldn't open, If that had been me I would have put down the camera and told her to stop and locked the door.

30 years works for me.... she'll be in or near menopause hopefully and never a parent again.

Nope not good enough, still leaves her time to go to Ireland (insert snark), no wait.... convicted felons can't have a passport. Guess that leaves out the cruise ships too.

the facts support first degree. As was said, there is no reason for duct tape over a child's face. I still don't know how the chloroform was used but I have no doubt that the duct tape was used to cover her mouth and nose.

The jury is such a wild card as always. I just heard on HLN that the jurors were riveted by the pool photos of Caylee and that Juror #4 was taking copious notes and reviewing them during sidebars.

That's my one criticism of HHJP-that juror should have been excused for cause and most trial attorneys I've heard address that agree.

Well so far a lot of people are thinking manslaughter which iirc is 13-30 years in Florida. I am not too concerned just yet - we still have several days of a mockery of a defense, the rebuttal and closing arguments. I think the case could still easily be made for 1st degree murder especially when premeditation is defined to the jury. It isn't necessarily about the chloroform searches months before Caylee died but could also be interpreted as the amount of time it took to rip three pieces of duct tape and apply them over Caylee's nose and mouth. In my non-legal opinion.

I want to know if there was a screen door behind the sliding door door. Especially in Fla., it's a given. I don't think Caylee could have moved that sliding glass door by herself.

We have a sliding glass door and our daughter helps out by letting the dogs in/out when we're tied up in the kitchen, or something. She's 6, and it's only been in the past few months that she could open the door. She still sometimes has to put one foot up on the frame to leverage herself by pushing off. No way in heck could she have opened a slider at age < 3!!!

Not to mention we don't have a dangerous pool outside of our door, either. If we did, that door would be child proofed. IMO, as careful as the A's were about safety, Caylee couldn't open that door - if she could, they would have put a kid lock on it. They hadn't gotten around to that yet because she was too little to get it open.

Every night, I sit here watching videos of the trial, and there's a young man sitting right behind the the podium, and I wonder who he is. He's next to the guy who runs the the computer to display pictures in front row, etc... same guy, every day, week after week.

Does anyone know who he is?

LOL! I always look for him now and I wonder all day who he is (that's my ADD at work.) He always has on a nice suit, wire rimmed glasses, that kind of longish hip hairstyle and a sweet boyish puppy dog face, right? I see him with a laptop but that's all the clues I've got. Now my ADD is demanding to know who he is!

Interesting. I'm starting to think accidental drowning. What do we know about any shoes found close to the remains?

Cindy said they never let Caylee out of the house without shoes. ????????? Even if she was going swimming?

But Cindy was not the last one to be in charge of what Caylee was wearing.
Casey was. And she may have picked the baby up out of her crib or bed or her car seat. And if she had had shoes on then if she was carried unconscious, those may have fallen off. Pick up a sleeping toddler from a car seat and if they have sandals or crocs that often fall right off.

ok.....

my speculation, intuition, I cant prove beans.....

something about Lee's behavior did not ring true to me as his simply feeling guilty/feeling bad/regret that he didnt spend enough time with Caylee.

.....or any other innocuous reason.

Big Fat Fishy to me.

Sorry.

I know paternity was tested or whatever, but something does not ring right for me.

Has this been brought up because I just thought of it and want your opinions. Dr. Spitz said duct tape was put on after decomposition. How could that possibly tie in with the opening statement from the defense? They are tying the duct tape to GA so how did he apply the tape after she decomposed? I think Dr. Spitz made up a story to fit the defenses theory only he got their theory mixed up and thought they wanted to pin the duct tape on the body snatcher!

I think that's why HHJP made that statement about the defense theory .They are just all over the place.

Puhhhleasseee, we all know she will just buddy back up with Amy H. and play old lady catch up and next thing ya know, she will be sporting Amy's name badge and serving cocktails on the grand ol' oceanliner. In the meantime, Amy will awaken and wonder if she was sleepwalking again and hid her badge

I thought, but could be wrong, but thought somebody posted that he was Judge P's judicial assistant . --correct?

I really dont' think ICA cared if she had shoes on, or what she was wearing. As CA said, the outfit she was wearing was not her favorite. IMO someone like CA would have dressed her like a doll
