I'm still voting on a "Dept-of-Defense" ruling, although "witness tampering" is my second-most likely idea. Of course, there could be The Phone Logs, although I bet the Defense has those among piles and piles that they've sat on for three years, too lazy to read those.
I'm only sorry that Ashton didn't re-state to Lee all three of the events... something, like...
"So, Lee, (1) YOU reach out to the Defense team - because otherwise, that might be construed as Witness Tampering by them - it's a good thing you knew that YOU had to reach TO THEM; (2) you can remember EVERYTHING they ask without resorting to transcripts, and (3) you need transcripts before you answer anything I ask! Isn't that the sequence of events that just happened?"
He can say NO, but it's spelled out, very directly, very simply to the jury. A LOT of coincidence in there!
I still can't believe LDB didn't ask Cindy "who was that Good Friend with the massive head and chest injuries - let's have a name, Witness. Let's do the entire Truth Whole-Truth And Nothin'-But-The-Truth thing, OK? Just because YOU won't ask for a nanny's name, that doesn't mean we're going to let Anthony's toss out unnamed Good Friends here on the stand. Give us a name."
