That's a very interesting theory! Did you see the previous post saying that JB reportedly called HLN today to claim that he is DP qualified?

I don't see how! I think you have to have something like 5 years of specific experience and/or or a certain amount of DP trials and JB only has one other I know about, even though he has dragged out these proceedings long enough to say he has five years of legal experience (most of it representing DUI's IIRC). It was the reason TL had to be brought in initially (boy, he left fast, didn't he?) and then left after Murder One was briefly taken off the table and then refused to return to the team when Murder One was back on after the body was found. JB is totally a legend in his own mind!!

Oh, I also noticed that when CM left he had not only his briefcase but an entire box he was toting behind him. JB only had his briefcase. I also find it odd that HLN is reporting that there are no leaks from either side on this matter. They say that is pretty unusual. I also wonder (they are speculating on this too) why AF hasn't been around - but I always thought that could be that they wanted to use her primarily for the penalty phase. And let's face it, there are already way too many chairs at the DT table when you count all the babysitters for ICA. Also, I'd heard that both DS and AF were DP qualified.

I just had a horrible thought..............

What if CM is sick (ie trying to get out of this circus) and HHJP says he has to stay because there must be a DP qualified attorney on the DT team and CM says.........

"Well, ah, as it so happens, my good friend Linda says she can come back and take over for me."

Please someone tell me this could not happen.

Again peeps, Ann Finnell is death penalty trial qualified...

YEs she is and for those that haven't watched it.....

Murder on a Sunday Morning is worth the effort.

It can be found on Netflix and on Youtube in 11 or so parts.

I made my hubbie watch it and my kids wanted to watch too. It was AMAZING!!!!

If you look at the end, when the lawyers come out of judge's quarters and just before, Casey looks mighty nervous. When Baez is flashing papers around it looks like the top page is a picture. I can't see of what but it appears to be a copy of a picture.

Anyone want to take a look?

KC talked to her family last night. After seeing LA on the stand and the hurt he was going through she decide to step up and admit to the crime if they could get death off the table or if she could admit to manslaughter. I think they wanted to talk to the judge about a admission their client made to them, but wanted to do it off line because their client may be chaniging their plea to guilty. The judge could ex parte the SA because it would be someone having them admitting to proof of a crime of someone else not involving KC or this case? Maybe a confession that someone helped her? I think they went in the judges chambers to inform the judge of the details. The judge ruled he would allow her to change her plea so the attorneys came out to get the state to see what kind of deal they would be willing to offer her, if any. The state made their deal...KC wanted to talk to her family about so first so they could hear the details from her mouth instead of the media. Out of respect for the famiily, the judge decided to recess court and give her till Monday to inform her family before he announces it publically. He recessed court till Monday. The closed proceeding was the plea on record and her accepting on record. Meanwhile he SA will still take the deposition as planned in case she changes her mind after talking to her family.

MOO, it could be anything! But that is another one of my guesses.

Yesterday CM asked for the court to consider a mistrial. Today CM asks for a sidebar without the jury present. Could a mistrial issue come about because the judge has stated he will deal with a defense contempt of court issue when the trial is over which may appear to CM as a bias issue?
No, what HHP said was he would schedule the motion(s) for mistrial when the SA finished their closing and prior to the jury getting the case. Either before 9am or after 5pm. This isn't the first or last motion filed for mistrial, lol. The contempt issue(s) will be addressed after the trial, normal procedure.

HHJP won't let JB off the case. He would simply take third chair behind Cheney and Anne, who is DP qualified. JBs ego would be bruised, but who cares. There have been many times when we have witnessed the cooling off between ICA and JB since the jury selection. This morning it was evident. She's pizzed.
AZlawyer or Gitana correct me if I am wrong.

Or is it that CM is threatening to get out if JB doesn't allow him to take over??????

Could be - I keep remembering how he complained about the hours at jury selection and said he just couldn't handle that. My source is pretty good and knows people who have worked with CM for years. A lot of others who know of his reputation say he just isn't himself the last few months. I think the pace of this has been pretty brutal. I wondered why he left abruptly at 5 the other day. Could be he is fed up with JB and could be he isn't doing well.

Frankly, I've always thought that CM joined at the request of HHJP (they are said to play golf together) to babysit JB and make sure he didn't get too out of control to avoid a mistrial or a boatload of appealable issues (especially after the other attorneys bailed and ICA was declared indigent and it was apparent JB had done nothing but waste her money). In earlier hearings, he would only get up and talk if it was something that directly impacted the defendant's rights and kept out of most of the frivolous motions JB was filing. I have a feeling that it's been a challenge, though. JB is probably a lot like his defendant and her mother. Nobody tells them what to do.

The defense team, all together walking out of the courthouse today looked like a happy, calm, confident group. I just don't see that as the case.

Jose looked like he was enjoying it too. I think he fancies himself a 'rock star.' I think he'd be devastated if that were to be taken from him right now.

If it is the case, I'm sure they all put on their 'poker' faces in front of the cameras. Behind closed doors is a different story.

I noticed the prosecution did not go after Cindy's first of her lies in the trial yesterday. When the prosecution brought in the hair evidence. There Cindy claimed IN GREAT DETIAL how her hair was long back at the time of the murder. And it could and probably was her hair found in the truck of the car. Gee yesterday there is Cindy with her even shorter hair than now out in the pool with Caylee. Nailing to hair down to Caylee is important. So why not get rid of Cindy as a possible source right there? Casey's hair is brown. That would leave it only as Caylee, as the possible source. As for Cindy and her long lair lie, well find a picture of her in long hair. Good luck on that impossible search.

BBM: I don't even know why she would argue about this. The hair was long, brown, and untreated. Cindy will never convince me that her hair hasn't been treated. Also, there is no way her hair was 9" inches long then.

Oh, and also, she was alive then. Caylee was not, hence the banding on the hair root.

Nah wish I could agree with you Tuffy but I watched it also. Look how tight Baez's face is - he's good at being a poser - with the long shots, but he is very tense - shoulders are up around his neck, body tight not swinging loosely when he walks, and Mason not in good humor swearing at the press who tripped on LF's bag....

Tight looking IMO but not a tightly knit group to what I saw. When Baez is feeling grand- he swaggers like a rock star. And look at the faces of his admin staff - no cheeky looks at the press there...

Could also be he's ready to get this thing over with and doesn't see that happening as long as JB is at the helm.

I tried, I cannot read lips, I just saw lips moving. Hopefully someone else will try.

I'm not to good at it, but that just kind of jumped out at me. I was looking at the hand gestures and caught that.

Is this it? 12 parts, only close to 10 min each.

So the past few days, thunder and lightening storms in Orlando. Interesting it started the day CA was back on the stand :)

But both the defense and the SA are continuing to do depos this afternoon....Furton and Simms are in the SA's office right now....so...
