I think ICA wants to take the stand and the only hope of stopping her was to have declared incompetent.. nice try guys didn't work....

She's too much of a coward to take the stand. She'd been torn apart by any one of the prosecutions team....I'd love to see it...for she will surely loose her cool and the jury might see for themselves what an evil creature she truly is....not incompetent....as competent as she is evil....

Would the reason for the competency/psych eval be a way for the Dt to get in the sexual abuse allegations?

Interesting that with all the mountains of speculation from us and the talking heads that no one guessed this was the reason.

33 pages to find out that there was a competency issue. All I can do is laugh, she is competent to stand trial. Can't fool the good doctors that have seen and heard it all.

As far as AF's motion, that is standard procedure, must be filed or incompetent would be a word used for the attorneys.

That is as far as I have gotten. Back to work now.

Question about the competency thing

Incompetent would have stopped the trial, right?

So does this mean she can change her story because she is doing it competently?

Is this a step towards the DT changing it’s theory?

IMHO No.

Competency is if the defendent is able to assist the defense in defending themselves. Or to understand the court proceedings. JMHO and oversimplified explanation.

is that her attorneys asked for the psych val because casey is insisting on testifying, and they know that would be an unmitigated disaster. they may be trying to save her from herself.

Since Casey has been constantly taking notes, reading documents associated with her case, listening to the testimony intently, talking to her attorney's and giving her opinions, I doubt she qualifies as a person who is not competent to stand trial. She has most definitely participated in her defense.

I say Baez is pulling out all the stops. She probably decided she was suicidal but changed her mind when she got the attention. She may have wanted different meds...This would be my guess.

She is decompensating. That would infer she was sane to start with. No my guess is she wanted meds, better meds. That is what these characters always pulled on me.
