I think this whole incompetent DT was heaven sent.. :great:

i see a lot of this sentiment on this thread and from my watching the trial (i am up to June 18 at home, can't watch at work), just had put in my :twocents:

1. the man's got nothing, absolutely nothing. if ever i saw a case that was indefensible this has got to be it.
2. if he did not urge his client starting years ago to take a plea to stay alive, then IMO he is incompetent. but we don't know that.
3. IF he is as bad as all that, she'll get another trial. if all these websleuthers are right about how bad he is, she will deserve another trial.
4. i think he's doing the best he can with what he's got. even though some of the examinations of witnesses have been, yes, cruel, disgusting, dragged out for way too long, etc. i'm gonna give him some credit just for showing up every day and PRETENDING there is a defense for his client.

Now this is cruel!!! LOL

on RHornsby's blog...

he links to other blog attnys - one who compares JB to Atticus Finch.

as in - the honorable defense lawyer who takes the case no lawyer will take and defends the defendant no lawyer will defend and finds himself abused and hated for doing so.

I'm just gonna throw that thought out here and :couch:

here's the link

Someone compares Baez to Atticus Finch? Really?
Maybe the author of that post is referring to Baez and Finch
both being "fictitious lawyers"?
That's the only comparison I can make.

99% chance of reversal on appeal due to ineffective counsel.

say it ain't so RHornsby! :(

She is no Conrad Black. It isn't like she will be out pending appeal. She still has some pesky other crimes she is currently paying for, doesn't she?

It takes a real "special" kinda person to do what Jose is doing. I'll never understand how defense attorneys sleep at night.

I feel physically sick and have all morning:sick: and cried quite a bit

Ugh, see I hate gross generalization. A person accused of a crime is innocent till proven guilty and has the right to a fair trial with COUNCIL. It's the constitutional basis for our judicial system.

We need defense attorneys. They aren't all evil nor are all prosecutors angels just because of the side they are on. I know it's unsavory but any one accused of a crime has the right to a lawyer. Even someone accused of child abuse or murder. Some criminal defense attorneys have be well known and much loathed like Mark Geragos and now Mr Baez. It's not fair to hate someone for doing their job. Certainly is to dislike someone because of their personality or things they do out of court, or even in court if they go way over the line.

I can say I don't care much for Baez right now. Casey deserves an decent defense team so her guilt can be proven and she can spend the rest of her life in prison where she belongs. I don't believe she gotten that here but from BS's comments on WFTV so far she doesn't have grounds for appeal just based on that.

my impressions of GA today.... Hubby and I were glued to the TV.... I cried and found him honest and human....

I've followed this case since day 31 and after JB questioned GA about talking to the police right away as well as other things, I had a little lightbulb moments.... "hmmmm" i thought, "she is ticked at her father for cooperating with the police." She hates her father and this is why she can so easily throw him under the bus.... PRAYING the juror's see it this way too....

Also, when GA talked about Caylee the raw emotion broke my heart but ICA had no emotion at all... I pray the juror's noticed this as well....

wow, today the .00000000000001% chance that this could have been an accident (in my mind) is finally gone! this girl is EVIL!

Thank you Sleuth5. I am 53 and am drawing on my own experiences with men my age, and older (i.e., my father's generation). I am glad that today men feel a little freer to express their feelings. But all in all, I still believe that most men tend to hold it in vs. openly boo-hooing like I did during testimony today. How many men cried during that I wonder?

53 here too. Oh, I think lots of men still buy into that old model, but it really is obsolete. Time to join the 21st century. I suspect there were quite a few male tears, particularly as men considered how they'd feel if in George's place.

This kind of crying is all about empathy. Who wants to be a man without empathy? Take a look at the Defense Table if you'd like to see what a person without empathy looks like -- it's called sociopathy.

:cow:

I might have to break my own rules and go watch HLN...
:great:

Good luck! Here is my experience..........testimony from stand "I was about to....." ....cut to commercial ..........back from commercial "And court is now in a brief sidebar/recess/trial adjourned/case dismissed/martions invaded/peace in the middle east established...................." but lets pause for another commercial break.............

Bill Sheaffer: "We have video coming up of a problem with Judge Perry at lunch time. A group of protesters were shouting at him. A number of Orange Co. Deputies were called to assist. We'll show you the details coming up at 1pm. They are apparently the group that has issues with his handling of jurors because he's the Chief Judge. We are still getting details right now."

Wonder how many were paid by JB and co.

When the DT questioning went as it did today, because the other members of the team do nothing, seems to me they have just given up.

I disagree. He operates this way because it's the only way he knows. He's as delusional and narcissistic as his client.

Oh they better not make me go to that Courthouse. Back off Judge Perry folks.

oh that's the little jury instruction commandos. What do they all it, help me here.....

There is a line of psychiatric research arguing that narcissism is inherited and may be genetic. CA clearly exhibits NPD symptoms as does ICA. Two narcissists, one sociopath.

:cow:

Wow - I gotta tell you I would not want my family held up for all to discuss and dissect - as Dysfunctional! But is there actually a family out there that isn't?

And what role model are we comparing families to when we say they are dysfunctional? I've always wondered that...

One of the smartest things the Anthonys did, was not putting the house up to bail ICA out.

If ICA wanted competent defense why did she dismiss the concerns of her family?! I mean, grown adults don't have to take ANY responsibility for themselves? It makes me SICK.

WOW! Look at YOU making a serious post! ;) You know I love your dry wit, but I must say I do agree with the continuing stereotype of typical male emotion! My dad (67) has my son (12) thinking "real men don't cry" and it kills me! (Son's dad passed away in 2003 and dad is his only male role model)
Real men DO cry (the realest of men!)
Now, as an aside, can u tell me where I can find one of these emotional sensitive, men!?? :great:

LOL, you caught me at an unprepared moment. Well, I can tell you where not to look -- toward the defense table!
