OT I guess....I went to the Bahamas years and years ago. Maybe it is just me but I was not impressed...maybe it has improved...we could not even drink the water there. Horrible smells from the reef...I know lots of people that have been there and enjoyed it but my experience was not a good one....I am not a picky person by any means but that was how our trip was. Good, uh no,lol, IMO

Have been to the Bahamas a few times and that was not recent.
I cant say I experience anything like what you describe.
I had a great time, the beaches are beautiful but the food is better in the French islands like Saint Martin for example - not in the British Islands,.

I agree completely.

I also understand a parent’s heart of trying to save the one alive,
IMHO there is a much darker side to this story that is not being discussed.
IMHO there are very dark people in the background of this story.
IMHO this case is nothing we really understand - we got a fictional story.

Songline, many times on other threads you and I have disagreed. However, on this one, I believe you are RIGHT on.

OK! This is the last straw.
I want to get away from here so I can get some things done on my looonnnggg & neglected
"To-Do List", which I've avoided for the past 3 weeks. I want to be doing something constructive.
I want to have some fun! I want sit by the pool and work on getting my tan back.

But even though I've been telling myself for the past 2 hours: "This is the very last time I refresh",
one of yous makes a great comment & that leads me to stay here (& at 2 other forums) & it makes
it very difficult for me to leave.

So.... how 'bout everybody leaves here for a few hours, so I can get stuff done?

I have NO will-power, no self-control when it comes to me leaving Websleuths!!!
:maddening: :maddening::maddening:

No they didn't do anything wrong. Well except made a big production about getting their license plate which I felt was a bit dramatic.

They are media and protected by the same Constitution that George and Cindy are. They can ask the questions as long as they don't threaten them or try to get into their space. No harm no foul. And this is to be expected for a while. The media has always been there to help the Anthony family when they were begging for help for their granddaughter's return and when they were trying to state Casey's cause.

So in the one hand you can't say I want you when I want you but you are to leave me alone when I don't want you. It cuts both ways IMO.

What about walking over and looking at the plate did you see as a big production? All I saw was George walk over to the car, look at the plate, begin to walk away and then go back and look again, as if he weren't sure he got it right. What could George have done differently that would not be considered by you to be overly dramatic?

Yes, I do believe you can and should be able to get help from the media without giving up your right to go shopping without making that national news.

This is how I see it: The Anthonys are choosing to move on. They have been mired in their grief for the past 3 years, and their emotions have run the gamut of the 7 Stages of Grief, often fluctuating wildly between them. They will never be able to turn back the clock and slip without fanfare into their old world, so they must forge a new one. Like it or not, they have become public figures whose every move is scrutinized (hence this and the voluminous pages of other threads). For the most part, I think they probably are unemployable, at least there in Orlando. If they got jobs, I can just see the posts stating they would boycott those businesses not to put a dime in their pockets. What employer in this downtrodden economy is going to want to take on the challenge of an employee with such baggage? With thousands clamoring for few jobs, I'm not seeing it.

So they are moving in another direction entirely. The establishment of foundations by people who have been known to play fast and loose with the truth warrants close scrutiny be paid to their financial transactions and records, not out of spite or malice, but because they have shown they are not savvy with finances. I am sure whomever is overseeing the case management of their disability claims knows to go over them with a fine-toothed comb and be on any errors or omissions like white on rice. I have not read enough of their foundations to form a legitimate opinion of them. But it is entirely possible that they intend to do good from them and still earn a decent living. Seeing George and Cindy homeless and starving on the streets isn't going to bring back Caylee, nor would it be what she would have wanted for her much loved CeCe and JoJo. They will be scrutinized, and that is fine. But let's try not to excoriate them for every move they make.

You are right. They have to move forward - there is no choice – IMHO they do need a vacation.
As far as the foundations...IMHO the foundations will run out, this too will end.
They had better size down their living space because it will not be long before they have to live on just SS. Selling their home will not be easy it comes with a heavy stigma.
I do not believe that the foundation will have any longevity.

Why don't we put the blame where the blame should be, if Casey had called 911 on the 16th of June, even if her father was there, she had no problem mouthing off at them on the 15th of June so she couldn't say up yours dad I'm calling 911. Her parents wouldn't be in the position they are in. We wouldn't be talking about what we think is right or wrong. The right thing to do is report you child hurt or missing right away.

ME THINK it is because her father knew who she was tangled up with,
Me think he advised her to hold off or she be dead.
think *advertiser censored*.

Off topic....kind of.....here is something new for the media to follow.....Fox is reporting singer Amy Winehouse found dead at age 27 in her apartment....sad but predictable in her case.

jmo

Cindy Anthony could be getting SSD. She could get it because she has lost a granddaughter by murder. She would have to have two people fill out paperwork about how she has changed compared to how she was before the murder. She would see a SS Psy. I don't have a problem with her getting SSD or something from the company she worked for. She is on meds and we don't know how she really is out of the public eye. I do know that the murder of a child takes a toll on a person and I would imagine it would be no different with a grandchild. We can all wear a mask out in public while we are dying inside.

So anyone who has lost a grandchild, takes druge and acts nuts can get SSD ?

Wish I had known that when I applied and got turned down cause I take 6 meds a day some twice and by all standards am looney.

All her job was before this was to sit on a computer all day and tell people what to do and where to go.

Isn't that what she has done for the last couple years.

There are alot of people who can't find jobs right now. What the heck makes them special ???

Yes it was predictable but what a shame. She was a beautiful healthy looking girl just a few short years ago, totally unrecognizable as the person she became. Damn drugs.

I noticed KID FINDERS was not listed...why is that and ofcourse the Caylee marie Anthony foundation was not either unless I missed it... im skepical of many of these organizations. i saw Cindy working feverishly at the get go on her altruistic endeavors LOL

Non profits are not rquired to give innformation to the BBB. So there exclusion may mean they just did not give the information out, not that anything is a miss. Guidestar.com is a well known charity watch dog site with very valuable free info. But again non profits are not required to give info to guidestar either. The only requiremnt is the federal 990 tax forms. Non profit must make that avaiible to the public when asked

As most of you know, Leiby K's murder in NY has been in the news daily.
Leiby's parents & Rabbi have set up a foundation in Leiby's name & a
Brklyn Councilman is trying to get "Leiby's Law" passed.

Leiby's family has a website that tells about Leiby & has recent news articles.
It tells how to donate to the foundation & where the money will be going.

There is a graph with the running totals and a link where you can see the names
of the 4,000 people who have donated & how much each gave. (I'm there!)

The Leiby Kletzky Memorial Fund website

I would love to see the Anthonys have a very similar website so that anyone
can see how much the foundation has received and where the money is going.

Thank you so much for this link.
What a horrible story.
I live in NYC and you gave me the opportunity to donate. :)

We will have to agree to disagree on this. I believe that the Anthony family made themselves part of covering for their daughter, and as such they are not treated any differently than media asking questions of Attorneys, staking out the airport looking for Casey, or any of the other players in this case. Media have been at the court house, at the memorial site, at the airport the list is long. They staked out Cheney Mason's office for a while I don't know if they still are. They are doing their job.

Cindy and George were part of the process that got their daughter acquitted and they are part of the current news. But it will end. Because people will move on from this. It is just waiting it out. Having their attorney announcing their vacation plans did not help the feelings people have about them.

When I leave for vacation channel 9 is not at my door asking me where I am going and taking shot of me boarding a private jet. They are not chasing me to Home Depot which I have to leave for soon. They are not calling my attorney. Wait attorney? I don't have one. Let alone 3 in three years. :waitasec:

Yes is sad and like you said predictable for sure

This news made me cry since I am a huge fan of Amy's. I had such high hopes that she would get better and make more of her wonderful music.

Actually I feel there should be a law preventing people from "protesting" near people's homes. I know that flies in the face of the constitution and these people were not actually on the Anthony property...but I just think it's wrong. There are so many public places, social media outlets to voice opionion that I feel homes should be off limits.

I do too. Even more so in regards to protests at funerals. I think the constitution needs to be tweaked here, honestly.

Millions of people have lost loved ones to horrific circumstances and are on meds. I'm on meds. I just don't think that ,alone ,qualifies one for SSD .

Amy joins the 27 Club. :(

I believe if the Constitution had been left alone in the first place, a lot of the stuff we live with daily wouldn't be happening. Public humiliation went a long way towards keeping people in line.
