Terrible.I think most of the water has receded. There are entire neighborhoods where the houses are 100% losses. I can’t remember the name of the subdivisions. I think one was Colonial Oaks, maybe. But the aerial photos are catastrophic. And, they’re expensive, minimum $400k homes too.
I heard there was a levy break or collapse in the Mennonite community but I can’t confirm it. That would explain the flooding in the Bahai Vista Rd & Tuttle Rd area. Cars underwater, the wake of stupid people driving thru pushed water into homes that may have not otherwise flooded.
It’s really sad because so many do not have flood insurance. Homeowners insurance doesn’t cover flooding. Hurricane deductibles are automatically 2%. So their only hope is FEMA which is years of red tape and never enough funds.
People are posting all over looking for something to rent. We didn’t have housing before this, and if there was something, $2,500-$3,000 a month. I suspect this will be the last straw for many. There’s so few options and the county leaders cater to the wealthy developers. JMO
I didn't renew flood this year because it's gotten so expensive. Heck my homeowner's is $10,000 a year.
I saw pics from Sarasota and just felt sick. Prayers for all you guys over there.
