Snipped with respect.

God, I SOOO want to believe this. I really do. Deep in my heart, I want to think this kid has some sense of right of wrong. And he's got me right there, right on the edge, he's had me hanging by a thread for so long. The only thing that keeps me from committing to him is his most bizarre statement. "To this day, I believe everything my sister tells me." When he said that, I abandoned all hope. Well not ALL hope, I have a tiny bit in reserve. But only for him.

I think my moment of truth with LA came reading his state depo. One of them said to LA, "so you don't relate the smell in the car with a dead Caylee" (not a direct quote--but the gist) and LA answered, "no". Hope for LA after that??? NEGATIVE-CASE CLOSED. moo

Exactly, Magic-cat
IMO They had a choice(s) to make with the funds received

And one of those choices was not to pay the mortgage

I also believe they put money into Casey's Defense Fund

They should have saved their money, paid the mortgage and let Casey be defended by a Public Defender. It would have saved them a lot of problems and provided Casey with a competent Attorney.

They had already claimed bankruptcy around the time Caylee was born. Not sure how long you have to wait, 7 years, before you can claim again.

I was under the impression that they claimed bankruptcy when they moved to Florida back in '89. I know CA found out about GA frittering away his Workers Comp payout in '05, and that's when they separated, but I don't believe they claimed bankruptcy then.

I honestly do not think mom and pop have given one penny to the defense. I think they have disdain for Baez and how he has used ( in their mind) their dear Caylee to advance his career to become a high profile lawyer who has been adopted as a little brother by Geraldo. I believe they hate Casey deep down, the only thing that is important to Cindy is keeping up the pretense that "someone that they brought in to this world would not do a thing like this".
Every public appearance they have made has done harm to Casey's case. Surely someone, if not just hearing it on the talk shows has pointed out the obvious to them. Since Brad was going through a foreclosure of his own, I am sure he was advising them throughout this process and they had a very keen awareness of what their plan regarding the house was.

Misty said that LP is writing a book about her case and Casey's and that is why he likely wants to bail her out. So, if Misty with her limited education can understand why LP wants to sweep into town to save the day...surely mom and pop do too. I think he offered to help them, publicly, as a way to mock them. I was joking yesterday that he would do this. I am no fan of his, but I have to admit I spit tea all over my keyboard laughing when I read that he did actually do this.

You just can't make this stuff up.

Now that I've calmed down a bit...a good shower helps to do that alot...

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a big stack of unopened and ignored mail, or if it was all shredded without being looked at, and if they had voicemail they didn't bother to check very often or at all. They probably have it on their cellphones and check that, but also probably have it on their landline and don't bother to check that, just erase it when it's full.

snipped respectfully by me..

Wouldn't the extra $750 or so in your bank account every month tip you off?

Brad has been in the Anthony's life for over a year and he is aware that the Anthony's are not working. He is also aware of the $$$ amount the Anthony's received from various appearances, with the last appearance on December 15, 2009, when they all appeared on the Today Show.

It boggles my mind, that the Anthony's attorney was unaware that the Anthony's were in financial disorder especially concerning their home.

I am not exactly sure what Conway can possible do to save the Anthony's home from foreclosure since the Anthony's owe 9 months worth of mortgage payments.

If the Anthony's didn't have the money back in June 2009 for the mortgage payment, how the heck are they going to catch up to save their home now, when they couldn't do it back then? Their financial situation back in June 2009, had money coming into the household as they were still invited to early morning shows.

So where did all THAT money go? Since the mortgage payment are relatively low, why the heck didn't they pay their mortgage after all these appearances?

Are we still suppose to believe Brad when he talks about the Anthony's not receiving money?

Remember when the Anthony's were suppost to be on Oprah; makes sense now why they went to the Early Show and not Oprah ... $$$$

Casey Anthony: George vows to stay in home despite foreclosure

“We’re not going anywhere,” George Anthony told WESH-Channel 2 about the foreclosure on his home.
Anthony didn’t appear on camera, but he talked to WESH’s Bob Kealing.
“They plan to work with the bank to get through this financial crisis,” Kealing reported.<snipped>

I just posted this up in the daily news, if you read the entire article it states they have no intentions of moving.

Good Grief! I can see CA being dragged out of Hopespring kicking and screaming but GA? Saying he's not going anywhere? Now that worries me. (I can see him thinking darker thoughts) Hope I'm wrong. Shuddering.

Bounty hunter considers helping Casey Anthony’s parents
9:09 a.m. EST, February 24, 2010

The California bounty hunter who helped bail Casey Anthony out of jail in 2008 is considering helping her parents save their home, Local6.com is reporting. But the attorney for George and Cindy Anthony, Brad Conway, said the couple is not interested in Padilla's help.

I agree that I doubt I`d be able to work or at least be very functional at work. I also don`t really begrudge them a bit of a get-away. However, they`ve been in financial distress before and it`s been EIGHT months. At some point, no matter what tragedy befalls us, we have to do something to survive, even if it means selling our house and hunkering down with relatives for awhile. Even if it means working at some crap job while our heart is broken and we can hardly get up in the morning. JMO

LadyL, you are so right! They need to learn ~ you do what you gotta do.It wasn't easy having my grown son lying paralyzed, I worked part time and spent 5 afters and evenings a week with him.Talk about hurting!I am so sick of them depending on everyone to dig them out.Go to work at McDonalds, put G in the kitchen where no one will see him.C. could always apply at a mental hospital.I'm sorry I just had to vent.:innocent:

IMO, NO! Brad has been caught in so many mistruths, he was either a perfect match for his clients or else the art of lying is something he honed from being around the A's.

Why does this NOT surprise me.

I *KNEW* it! I am officially psychic. I've been mumbling the past few days that I *KNEW* LP was going to try to buy this house.

I need to start carrying around a tape recorder.

And my DH thinks I'm nuts when I mumble about this case ;-)

Hey I believe in that stuff. But can you tell me what the pick 3 will be on Friday?

I'm serious!

PS--BTW my family's ears now go into auto shut off when I mention this case! lol

I really don't think they have too much to worry about. After all, I don't see too many buyers who would be jumping to move into (what I believe is) a crime scene, even at a foreclosure price. MOO

I bet it would; the Routier home here in Rowlett sold after it went into foreclosure, at least twice that I know of.

Are you kidding me? They probably spent that on the cruise, jewelry, etc. No, they didn't mind the extra money. They probably didn't and still don't care, believing someone is eventually going to bail them out. Yet again, it's so easy to see where Casey got her attitude from!

I've been thinking about this all evening and I have to agree---that I think something is definitely "up".

The Anthonys (in particular CA and GA) obviously took a great deal of pride in their house/home. They are neatniks and worried incessantly about people standing in their yard, etc. They are totally territorial and it is clear that their home has been extremely important..paramount, actually. So, how is it...that they would "forget" to pay for it?

Even with all that has happened..the house has always been such a huge big deal to them. The reason CA didn't want to divorce GA was because he could wind up with half or more of "everything that CA had worked for" (ie: the house!) It seems so incongruent that suddenly they would simply give it up. There is something afoot, a scheme of some sort. UNLESS they have truly lost their marbles and stopped caring. (Which seems so doubtful..when you consider how much they clean things, get tattoos, have haircuts and wear jewelry).

These are people who have "pride" in spades. So how and why could they let their house "go"? It just does not add up.

Maybe it was intentional after all.

Maybe they decided it would be best to move. (I'm trying to think like an Anthony here.) In this economy, the house won't sell any time soon, so let the bank have it back and we'll just move to an undisclosed location.

Because, you know, when princess Casey comes home from jail, we can't have the media and protesters mucking up the lawn and stuff.

Did we ever learn who the private party sympathetic to the Anthonys that put up Casey's bail the second time was? Just as LP is offering to help, we can guess that a publisher or producer could cough up seven grand, no problem. It cost that just to pay the Ritz Carlton bill.
