Thank you thank you!
I find it strange that Marinez has this case all to himself! What a man! I have never ever seen a capital murder case that only had one prosecutor. Amazing! Although from the research I have done I saw he has been on the case from day one and he has had plenty of time to prepare his case. Hopefully there is a good support team back at his office backing him up with research and anything he needs.
So the lead detective is actually sitting at the Prosecutor's table? I have never seen that before either. Usually seated right behind. I am sure the two have bonded during this case. Stressful cases usually do that to Counsel.
I wish I lived closer. Even if it was just for happy hour. I am on the east coast and appreciate the info on the time change. Now we are 3 hours ahead of you! Ugh.
I do feel bad for JA's mother if she visits her daughter at the jail and sits through this horrendous testimony and her daughter does not even appreciate her. ie IMHO borderline personality disorder or narcissism or both?
I am so excited to hear the observations from Janine Driver. I think you and KCL have been very good at describing the Juror's demeanor. I often wonder if KCL has had any contact with the Scott Peterson jury after his trial. One thing is for sure. Their lives are forever changed. In our court I was the one that escorted the Jury and did all the interaction with them. The Deputies took care of the D and security. When we were sequestered the Deputies did stay with us all the time. I know that for a fact that their lives will never be the same from my own Juror's. They sometimes have reunions because they have been through something that they can never describe to their family and friends and need a support group all their own.
Please keep up the good work with your posts and let us know how the happy hour talks go too. Will wait patiently (not) for Weds at 1:00 our time. Thank you PASA and KCL!
I'm sure he has a great team back at the office as you said, to research and help behind the scenes. He's Juanderful, but I don't think he could pull off a case like this one all by himself.
This jury is not sequestered, but to keep them from being approached by media or others, they are escorted. I'm happy to see it, as they have enough to deal with sitting on the jury day after day, having to look at exhibits that cannot be unseen. I heard one of the jurors was approached
by media early on. I wonder if that's why they are escorted from the courtroom to the first floor.
Aww, thanks. I'm no expert and my observations are just that... from a layperson's point of view. I'm excited to know what Janine thinks of the jury.
Yep, you're 3 hours ahead of us now with the time change. We don't change our clocks back and forth, and I love it! Before we lived here it would take me a month or more to adjust after the time change.
KCL and I both plan to attend court both days this week. Been busy getting real life stuff done so I can go without feeling I should be doing something at home.
