Thank you thank you!
I find it strange that Marinez has this case all to himself! What a man! I have never ever seen a capital murder case that only had one prosecutor. Amazing! Although from the research I have done I saw he has been on the case from day one and he has had plenty of time to prepare his case. Hopefully there is a good support team back at his office backing him up with research and anything he needs.
So the lead detective is actually sitting at the Prosecutor's table? I have never seen that before either. Usually seated right behind. I am sure the two have bonded during this case. Stressful cases usually do that to Counsel.
I wish I lived closer. Even if it was just for happy hour. I am on the east coast and appreciate the info on the time change. Now we are 3 hours ahead of you! Ugh.
I do feel bad for JA's mother if she visits her daughter at the jail and sits through this horrendous testimony and her daughter does not even appreciate her. ie IMHO borderline personality disorder or narcissism or both?
I am so excited to hear the observations from Janine Driver. I think you and KCL have been very good at describing the Juror's demeanor. I often wonder if KCL has had any contact with the Scott Peterson jury after his trial. One thing is for sure. Their lives are forever changed. In our court I was the one that escorted the Jury and did all the interaction with them. The Deputies took care of the D and security. When we were sequestered the Deputies did stay with us all the time. I know that for a fact that their lives will never be the same from my own Juror's. They sometimes have reunions because they have been through something that they can never describe to their family and friends and need a support group all their own.

Please keep up the good work with your posts and let us know how the happy hour talks go too. Will wait patiently (not) for Weds at 1:00 our time. Thank you PASA and KCL!

I'm sure he has a great team back at the office as you said, to research and help behind the scenes. He's Juanderful, but I don't think he could pull off a case like this one all by himself. :)

This jury is not sequestered, but to keep them from being approached by media or others, they are escorted. I'm happy to see it, as they have enough to deal with sitting on the jury day after day, having to look at exhibits that cannot be unseen. I heard one of the jurors was approached
by media early on. I wonder if that's why they are escorted from the courtroom to the first floor.

Aww, thanks. I'm no expert and my observations are just that... from a layperson's point of view. I'm excited to know what Janine thinks of the jury.

Yep, you're 3 hours ahead of us now with the time change. We don't change our clocks back and forth, and I love it! Before we lived here it would take me a month or more to adjust after the time change.

KCL and I both plan to attend court both days this week. Been busy getting real life stuff done so I can go without feeling I should be doing something at home. :)

I hear you! Your son is wise. I have not been back on WS for some time after Casey Anthony. I get too involved.
Did you get to get inside the courtroom after day 3?? Did you sense people felt bad for the Anthony's??
Casey and Jodi remind me of each other and would probably make great friends.
PASA and KCL, who is the other Katie you refer to? Are Dr. Drew's people guaranteed seats every day? Are there lines to get into the courtroom everyday? Thank you as always!

She's on Dr. Drew as "His Jury". She brings a guest on with her to discuss their take on the days proceedings. She's tall blonde, cute gal. She's also very nice. She is not guaranteed a seat, and not an official member of the media. The media does have a couple of rows reserved on the side TA's family sits.

Oh PASA, what would I do without you?

People here may not know but PASA has sent me ongoing text messages with running commentary every time I've been out of town or at work and unable to attend and she's watching the stream for weeks. She's been just an angel to me! xoxo PASA.

Aww thanks. I got a little teary eyed reading that.

I'm happy to do it. I'm watching the trial and it's easy to shoot a text your way. :)

I do like the ponytail on you, it's cute. :)

They were not admitted or Nurmi would have used them. They came back from sidebar and he went to diary entries that implied suicidal thoughts.

moo

Thanks so much for clearing that up. I have thought about it all weekend, and just couldn't recall it.

Juan asks ja about Casa Ramos. She goes into how she usually works for large chains. OMG, where does she come up with this stuff???

JM hit the idea of the manager not knowing about the injury a good deal. Something's up there. :dunno:

I'm so glad you, KatieCool and the other court watchers can see him in action!

What owner of a restaurant with a bar allow an employee to serve drinks with a bleeding finger????? I would imagine they could get shut down for that by OSHA. I can hear that owner now. Jodi being responsible for handling food and drinks, they would have sent her home. I don't think that is her finger in the picture as her fingers seem thinner than the one we see in the picture. I'll bet it was taken after she changed her story. jmo

Thank you for the info. Sometimes I'm busy writing notes and looking at the jury and don't hear the testimony.

Jodi sat reading the pages and crying at the defense table. Then she did the same at the witness table during the sidebar. But there was no testimony about them.

Ok, I didn't see that. People watching the feed see her much better than we do in the courtroom. We see counsel and the defendant from behind except when she's on the stand, or attys walking back from sidebar. :) ja is pretty far away from the gallery when on the stand.

Thanks for the info, I wouldn't have known otherwise.

:grouphug: to katiecoolady (she just shared on Tricia's radio show about losing her sister to murder, and will be taping a Ricki Lake show this week). Best of luck with the taping; I'm sure you'll do fine! Your family photos are so touching.

Many thanx and :grouphug: to both katiecoolady and PASA for reporting here about the Jodia Arias trial. It'd be hard to sit in the same room as JA, and really sad to see Travis' family (altho I know you've had a chance to be compassionate to them).

I'm late to this case, and both your notes have helped a lot (as the other JA threads here). Currently I'm having trouble viewing videos, so with a few exceptions I've depended on the info (and links) poster here at WS.

Thank you Cazzie...I can hardly believe I was there with the likes of Dr. Lillian Glass and Holly Hughes tonite. I'm blown away....!

Don't you mean Holly Hunter? :giggle:

You did great and belong in that class. JMO

I missed it tonight Katie...but Im sure you were great as always...Gonna try and figure out why I cant get it to play and listen to it soon as it is archived...

I couldn't leave the thread at the number it was on...(three sixes...:what:). So I am going to ask a question of the Court Observers...

Have you all decided on the actors/actresses who will be playing the parts in the movie regarding this case?

Thanx. For those that don't know, Tricia's shows are archived (not sure for how long). But you can go to the above link (for tonite's show) anytime now that the show has ended, and hear the whole show. I'm actually catching up rite now on the first 1/2 hour that I missed. ;)

thnx...gonna c if I can get it to play.

I'm not a court observer, but I'll try. How about Lyndsey Lohan for Jodi, Ryan Gosling. as Travis, the ghost of death from Family Guy as the jury, Blythe Danner as judge Sherry, Freddie Prinz Jr. as JM, John Goodman for Kurt Nurmi, an actual slug for Gus Searcy, Mae Whitman for Mimi and that's all I got for now.

JMHO, but I remember JA said that she printed out the route for her "planned" trip from MapQuest - showing the route from Yreka all the way down to San Diego, and then up to Utah.

So if she really didn't have a GPS and really didn't plan to visit Travis until she was in Pasadena, how would she know how to get to Mesa from Pasadena without a GPS, since she wouldn't have travelled that particular route before???? And then also from Mesa to Ryan, if that really was the first time she went to visit him, without a GPS????

Do you think that is where JM might be going with the GPS?

I think she knew the way to Mesa from Pasadena. I thought she had traveled to Utah before with Travis. Maybe they flew? I think the drive to
SLC from the Las Vegas area may have been new. There are signs all over directing where to turn to get onto I-15 which goes right to Salt Lake City from Las Vegas.

She'd driven from Northern California to Palm Desert. It's a straight shot on I-10 to Phoenix from Palm Desert.

I'm hoping more of what Juan has on her re: GPS and Matt will be revealed in court this week. :)
