Hi, new member here with a few courtroom questions....

Some of us have tuned in late.

Who is the man sitting next to Juan Martinez?

Who is the woman seated behind the Defense team?

Where is the family seated?
(courtroom layout as seen on live Internet)

What is referred to as "the gallery?"

Thanks for everyone reporting back/answering questions.

PASA,
You can point this woman out to Court employees so they can keep an eye on her. (the troublemaker) The last thing they want is for anyone to cause a mistrial and a person in the Gallery can do that. I had to throw out many people for their remarks or reactions.

Some times my Judge would call me into the court room and have me alert the Deputies to someone acting strange.

One day I did hear the Judge ask the Juror's after a break if anyone had approached any of them and tried to talk about the case? I think I heard that. Maybe I am imagining. What time do you have to be at the Courthouse to get a seat? If you get a seat in the am are you guaranteed a seat in the pm??

Thank you as always for all your insight.

Quick question about donations: The strangest thing just happened. In all the years I've used Paypal I've never had them initiate a call to me but they just did - questioning whether or not I authorized a payment to The Travis Alexander Legacy Fund. I confirmed that I had and that was that but now I'm hoping I used the right link and didn't accidentally send money where I shouldn't have. I used the link from this page to donate: https://www.facebook.com/TravisAlexanderFund?ref=ts&fref=ts&filter=2 That's correct, isn't it? The email associated with the recipient account is "raisingyoufoundation@gmail.com."

ETA: Just noticed I posted this in the wrong thread. I'll carry it over to the general discussion.

I think she should be reported, she could very well be a plant, to cause a mistrial, didn't Jodis Mother try to pull that off,if I were there I would report her,jmo

Besides smacking her gum and looking like a mafia princess, what has "troublemaker" done at this point?

Oh boy, I took a day or two off to catch up on household stuff, work stuff, and errands, so forgive me if my reply is long.

First KCL - Aww, my heart hurt with you having to open up wounds and memories of your sister. Seriously, that's really tough, I have a hard time with close ones who died natural causes.

Second - I am a big fan and I just want you to know that you are fully supported on the Ricki Lake show, and btw congratulations on that. You will touch many people lives doing this. Unfortunately, we know many others have experienced tragedies and for you to do this on behalf of your sister, well I'll just take a bow.

Third - Going by your pics we are the same age or close to it, go 80's, no really go 80's hair dos, and attire. : ) - funny how it makes a come back, though.

Fourth - Thank - you Pasa, great report and you are far to humble. All the same I love it.

Fifth - I am so mad I missed Tricia's radio show on Sunday, but I am very happy I can hear it again via link ; ). I just wrote a sticky note on my computer to remind me every Sunday. It's well worth it.

hi and welcome, Detective Flores sits next to Juan. He is the lead detective and the one who Jodi called to see what he knew, and he is the one on the interview tapes that was so calm and collected with her BS.

The woman behind and sometimes sits at the defense table is the DV for Jodi.

Jodi's family sits on the defense side of the gallery. They show Jodi's mother and her twin sister during the trial. It will be to your right as you enter the courtroom.

Travis's sister and brother sit on the prosecutors side of the courtroom. His sisters and bothers sit behind Juan. He is their warrior fighting for Travis and his good name. An honorable man.

The gallery are the seats behind the rail.

I just watched it again too. When the camera focuses on her she is so still and a lot of times doesn't blink for long periods. She comes across like Hannibal Lector in Silence of the Lambs. What a striking difference from that pretty animated bouncy personality that gave those disgusting interviews saying she was innocent.

Lead me to another thought: When the jury asked her why did she even say that, she didn't get they meant why say anything if she had killed him.

I also think of Hannibal Lector when watching her. I think of how things went from no taking photos to bloody, utter mayhem from one minute to the next. It's so far beyond the average human experience. It makes me wonder if she burped when she was done.

You're so much nicer than me, but we already knew that. ;)

Not really. LOL!
I'm hoping she will be truthful, but I'm not holding my breath.

I had something else typed out earlier, but thought better of it. Didn't want to get sued for defamation of character. LOL!!

Hi KCL and PASA,

I heard that Jodi's mom reported jury misconduct on the 6th day of trial. Apparently she claimed to have evidence that Travis' family was speaking with jury.
I went back and looked at the Youtube video at the end of that trial day and the mom was dabbing her eyes and crying.
Lawyers were called up by the judge. I seem to recall hearing the judge speaking with all the jurors individually.
Were either of you there that day and did you see or hear anything about that?

Great interview Katie. All three of you were very informative.

I was not there that day. I did hear someone reported to the court that some jurors were approached. I thought it was by the media, not TA's family. I don't think the family would do anything to risk a mistrial, and don't believe the family approached anyone.

I am new to Websleuths and I just wanted to take the time to thank all the people who go to the trial and share with us. I have no patience to watch the trial when the defense attorney is on but I keep track of Beth Karas tweets and turn on the trial when Juan takes over... I learned so much from these posts!! Thank you once again.

Hello everyone. New poster here. I had to come out of my lurking. I am quite curious as to what this woman will say to defend Jodi. I wonder if Jodi has been able to CON her. I am thinking that Jodi has spent some time with other prisoners who have been abused and has taken snippets of things they have said and tied them into her relationship with Travis. Jodi seems to have spent a lot of time rehearsing for her "big day(s)" on the stand. The problem that she runs into is that once Mr. Juanderful crosses the defense witnesses he turns them into prosecution witnesses. :moo:
I do not think that Jodi was ever abused by Travis. I believe she abused him. She definitely snooped, tormented, broke into his email accounts, broke into his house, etc. She completely stalked him. That saddest thing to me is that he didn't realize how very dangerous she really was. I also think based on his childhood that he really wanted to help her. He really truly was a good friend and an amazing man. It's so sad that he ever met Jodi. I feel so horrible for his family and I pray for them daily. They are such amazing people and I respect them immensly for standing there every day and fighting for justice for their brother.
Thank you KCL and Pasa for your court room observations. They really mean a lot to many of us. I would love to go down and sit in court one day, but I don't want to intrude... so please tell the family that there are many of us who are there with them in spirit every day. I pray for Mr. Juanderful also. My prayers are that Jodi gets what is coming to her and that the people fighting for Travis and those who miss and love him are given strength and know in their hearts that justice will prevail.
(Sorry this is scatterbrained. I have so many things I wanted to post, but I don't think this is the right place for it.)

KCL- I am praying for you too. You are an extremely strong person, and I am sure your sister is proud of you.

Welcome!
:welcome5:

I agree with all you've said, great post!

Ummm... That's not the one we've had verified from the family. I donated through this facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/Justice4Travis and the email address for paypal is justice4travisalexander@gmail.com

I would call paypal back if I were you and tell them you made a mistake. KatieCoolady has verified the Justice4Travis facebook and email address with Travis' sisters. I also donated and got a very nice email back from Samantha.

I'm sorry I missed it. Doing laundry. I'll listen later tonight.

I've no doubt you were great, and brought a lot to the conversation.

Make sure you put the camera on the delicate cycle. :floorlaugh: :blushing:

I'm pretty sure they are aware of her. She was being pretty pushy with one of the security people on Wednesday.
I haven't seen her misbehave inside the courtroom, only in the hall/lobby.
I'll keep a watch and tell someone if she gets any worse.

The judge has asked the jury more than once if they have talked about the case, seen any media about it, etc.

I get there by lunch to get in for the afternoon. The people who were in line and got in for morning session have to start over for afternoon. The only time our seat is saved is afternoon break.
I've been, 6 times, I think? And have gotten in 3 or 4.

But, as I've said before, interesting things can go on in the hall. Not meaning CC, nothing interesting about her. :)

Hadn't thought of that. I will mention it to someone of authority next time I am there, and she is there too.
