JM mentions Mark Udi and how he could see her hands during their meal. Mentions cuts to left habd. Mentions gauze rather than bandaids. (I can't wait to see what marky mark has to say)

"I did not grind THAT guy"
Tricolor chuckles as she takes notes when JA talks about RB being full of crap.

Nurmi literally "lets the steam out of his collar" by hooking his finger in his neckline and pulling it out when his objection is -yet again- overruled. This guy is a cartoon!
Several Jury members are scribbling notes when they talk about the "sorry" note sent with MumMum's Irises. Jury looks displeased with her for this stinky move (I think grandpa cracked a tiny scowl)

The Nose Touch (Saw jurors 7, 8, & 18 do this)
In essence, the nose touch gesture is a sophisticated, disguised version of the mouth guard gesture. It may consist of several light rubs below the nose or it may be one quick, almost imperceptible touch. Like the mouth guard gesture, it can be used both by the speaker to disguise his own deceit and by the listener who doubts the speaker’s words.
Turns out all the gestures I noted are signs of doubt, etc. Interesting!! :great:

Carefully edited by me for space

Twice yesterday, I saw Jodi rub one side of her nose, then the other side of her nose, then immediately put her cheek in her left full hand. Both gestures were identical.

And before I knee it it was lunch time! It flew by so fast! I did not get back in after lunch. Instead I sat outside with AZLawyer and livestreamed. That was better than the courtroom for me because we could giggle and joke. She is a great lady! One on one with an attorney during testimony? Priceless to a junkee like me!

I might be a wonderful conversationalist, and a great person to spend time with...but actually AZLawyer was really just biding her time until HAPPY HOUR!

And that was fun. There are pic... a few posts...you've got the dish there.

Also... I approached Beth K on the street after she taped nancy g. I invited her back to happy hour so she mistook me for a producer that she was meeting up with. Cleared that up...and chatted for about 30minutes. Xchanged email addresses! She is very gracious.

Anywho... time to get kids ready for school... and watch for my bruggt pink top in gallery shots on the IS reruns this morning.

In summation - going to see the trial was a great experience, made even greater by hooking up with WS'ers. However, I have a much better view at home, and more tools available to me to follow allong. The only benefits would be seeing the jury, but I just do not believe that you can actually "read" a jury. I will stay home from now on... but might pop in during HAPPY HOUR!

Here goes...

Because I was #14 in line I was ushered up to the front of the spectator, behind the one measly row of JA support. I was seated directly behind DB. Seems that nobody wanted to scooch up to close to her, so I had a gap in front of me giving me direct line of sight to JM and JA and a good portion of the jury.

Mother of JA and Aunt seated in first two seats of first row.

B4 jury is in... Nurmi makes his record about wanting footage from JM show from DH. He is asked to stand. I totally recognize him from his media interviews. He is asked for the tape and says he can give it. Then juan wants to possibly use him for rebuttal. He is admonished and asked to leave.

Kid break....already sheesh!

Darryl brewer was in courtroom? Is that who DB is?

Court observers,
Thank you all for your notes and insights. All of us appreciate you all so much.

I want to thank all of you who go into the courtroom and then post your impressions of the day's events. you guys are awesome; wish I was there. I was in Phoenix just one time and I loved it; the people were very friendly; it is a beautiful place. Thanks again for sharing your experiences with us- it is truly the highlight of the day----

DB is Donavan B. - the manly looking woman, ex-con, friend of Jodi and Ann Campbell - I think.

Oh good. Forgot about Donavan. I thought Darryl was supporting Jodi. I would think he has changed his tune by now! If she walks, he better find a place where he and his son can hide. She is dangerous! Hoping he and MM are a bit wiser.

newbie here waving hello to everyone. Thank you so much to all the WS courtroom folks, I'm loving reading all the daily accounts. I'm so glad to find others that are as fascinated with this trial as myself!!

I've noticed some say that some of the jury members don't look at JA ever, I will say that kinda bothers me in the fact I want them to see her defiant little faces and smirks.

BBM
I also have a question about this maybe some of our attorneys can answer. Is it considered a "bad" thing for the jury to watch JA? I would think if I were a juror, I would be watching her every move. It actually concerns me that some aren't "looking" at her.

Are there any questions in the jury basket yet?

Is Jodi wearing leg irons? Or just the stun belt?

Do any of you have any personal observations about Judge Stephens that may not have been obvious to those of us watching the TV and/ or live feed?

She seems like a very intelligent, classy lady. I like how she is handling things thus far.

Jennifer Wilmott has taken a back seat for 2 weeks with Nurmi's direct. Any observations about JW? I personally like her style and approach better than Nurmi's-- she seems like an intelligent, classy lady, too. (Not her fault her client is so reviled.)

Any observations about Esteban Flores in court?

Many thanks to all of you who are local, and able to attend!

I looked and looked, but couldn't find the jury basket. I didn't know where it was, so I can't answer this question.

Leg irons? Like shackles? No... just the stun belt. It's much more obvious that it's there in person. She does seem to have something on one of her ankles though because she walks funny like one of her legs is heavy.

She is really beautiful. I don't usually use this word to describe people, but KCL's "lovely" comment suits her perfectly. She's paying close attention and sometimes she seems to be ready with her ruling expecting the objection before it's even stated.

I think the reason she's taking a back seat is because Nurmi is the one who did the direct examination of JA. I think I remember seeing one of the attorneys say it's typical for the one who did the DE to lead through cross. She is very pretty and has a sweet face. I wasn't all that impressed with her when she was asking people questions. She says ummmm a lot and asked the same question more than once and then would say "Oh right, sorry." She seemed to rely on her notes too much and came off a little unprepared. Just my opinion.

Any observations about Esteban Flores in court?
I could only see him from the back / side, so not much. He just seems to be paying close attention

I hope I can make it down there again before the trial is over. It really is a whole different viewpoint. In general, I think I like watching it better online. It's nice being able to see their faces clearly. The only major benefit of being there is seeing the jury. They are very hard to read though.

:seeya:

Question for our court observers: If Juror 14 is sleeping - isn't that a problem? Grounds for appeal? I thought all jurors had to stay awake?

Thanks,

Mel

I am concerned about the non attentive and drowsy jurors too. Unlike us on here that are riveted and hanging on every word and analyzing it...I am worried.

Everyone from Atlanta raise their hands! We'll do the same thing for Andrea Sniderman case here that is a BIGGIE this fall!

I will be glued to the AS trial right along with you. :rocker:

After seeing them in person I am NOT worried. They are normal people, a good cross section of everyday Amercans. It is boring and mind numbing to listen to this back and forth stuff. The only commercials they get are for Starbucks and Tootsie Pops. I believe that they will make a smart sane decision. I certainly don't think they have the opportunity to be seduced by her with all the blah and mundane exchanges. There is nothing to buy. Facts are facts.

I'm so sorry for not checking in before now. I was totally fried by the time I got home, so went to bed soon after.

I'm so happy to have met the people from WS who attended trial yesterday. Frigga, AZLawyer, WhatsUpAZ, and KBisMe. KatieCooLady didn't attend but caught up with us later for happy hour. :)

Thank you all for making a great day awesome!

I will try to catch up here later. I have some real life stuff to do and hope to get back to court as well. :)

:floorlaugh:
Hey, wait a minute. Maybe you're on to something.

We now have a number of in courtroom WSers! I think one of them, or someone new, should volunteer to get into a little mischief that lands them in the same jail with JA to really get the inside scoop!

Who's willing to step up to the plate for a little face-to-face chit chat with JA? :giggle:

I would take one for the team, as long as one of our attorneys here would get me out quickly and y'all would all pitch in for my bail! :great:
But, alas, I'm in Texas. :)

Unfortunately, MM is not wiser. He posted on that "other" site about how he would lie for Jodi. I took a screen shot, and sent it to Juan Martinez, along with a link to the actual posting on the site. You can find it by "googling" MM JA.
