The court must decide whether Carroll County Prosecutor Nicholas McLeland can add charges against Allen, who's accused of killing Abigail Williams, 13, and Liberty German, 14, in February 2017.
On Jan. 18, the same day the Indiana Supreme Court reinstated Allen's original attorneys, the prosecutor filed a request to amend the charges to also include:
  • Two counts of murder while committing or attempting to commit kidnapping (previously filed Oct. 28, 2022)
  • Two counts of murder
  • Two counts of kidnapping
-----

One of the hearings is to discuss accusations of contempt against Allen's attorneys, Andrew Baldwin and Bradley Rozzi.
McLeland argues the attorneys should be held in contempt of court for what he calls a "trend" of "not being completely honest with the court." The prosecutor said the attorneys violated the gag order in the case by issuing a press release on Dec. 1, 2022, proclaiming Allen's innocence. McLeland also points to information, including crime scene photos, leaked to the public through Baldwin's office.
---
A recent court filing shows Baldwin and Rozzi are prepared to call at least six witnesses and present more than 26 pieces of evidence Monday. The attorneys have asked several times in recent weeks for the contempt hearing to be delayed.
The court denied multiple media requests for cameras in the courtroom during the hearings.

oh boy. 5.a.iii
Now China is involved...

iii. Additionally, it appears to the defense that the report is incomplete as it details attempts to recover the lost interviews, including purchasing some type of equipment from China to assist in recovering the lost interviews. However, that is where the report ends. It is unknown whether the equipment from China was ever purchased or if an attempt to recover the missing interviews was attempted.

I wonder why they don't have spell/check or at least an intern to double check their articles.

Therefore, based upon the State of Indiana’s March 8, 2024 correspondence answering a certified letter overnighted to the prosecution on February 20, 2024, the defense can pair down its request concerning certain documents as the State of Indiana has answered certain questions concerning certain discovery previously found in paragraph 69 of the Motion to Compel and Request for Sanction.

Ironic to use the word certain in such a vague way.
And... pair down?

Gonna be a long day

The D just wants more money. And bullying.

This is not 1961. Why would you not keep duplicate files of evidence on multiple computers, flash drives, external drives, cloud storage, etc. I'm sure there's regulations on how this is stores but really guys, come on now.
