They "lost" weeks of recorded interviews.
As has been discussed many times, the equipment was apparently recording over the prior interviews. We don't know if it was a glitch or it was negligence on the part of one of the interviewers. But things like that happen in every bureaucratic office. It does not mean the workers are incompetent. Those are the kinds of things that happen when thousands of taped interviews are being taken.
Called off the dogs.
They called off the dogs? I thought the dogs were coming in the next morning? IIRC, LE held back the renewed search until 10 am so the dogs could get in there without all of the new scents of the searchers.

True that the search was called off around midnight night before because of darkness and terrain---and also because the sheriff had been told the girls had gone off before w/out telling anyone so he thought they were with friends somewhere. It was the wrong call but sadly, it would not have made a difference.

I posted a link earlier but if the doc was provided to them by a source, the media outlet is protected by Shield Law. I linked and quoted from the actual law in Indiana upthread. Basically, they don’t have to reveal their source to anyone per the law.

Here is a link above.
I didn’t initially post a link because this is old news, with multiple links posted at the time.

His attorneys wanted all evidence collected from his home to be suppressed.

There is only one reason for that, IMO. If nothing in his home was incriminating, why would his attorneys want it suppressed?

IMO
Ok so what you said doesn't match your explanation. Really not wanting your home searched implied he was hiding something. But that hasn't even been asserted. He didn't even have an attorney when his home was searched. IIRC it was asked to be suppressed because there could be issued with the warrant? I can't remember. But it doesn't matter if you think there's anything incriminating or not, it's the defenses job to protect the rights of the accused. And make sure the govt does THEIR job properly. They are thing to get everything suppressed that they can because they don't know what could be used against their client

How do you think LE has botched it from the get go?
Ummm let me count the ways. IMO
2 different sketches, missing phone data, what happened to the interview tapes that were tape over? Anthony Shots . RA interviewed with them the first few days and they couldn't figure out he was the dude on the video? Where is that interview? The "ballistics". The missing blood. The TIMELINE. The TOD.
Where is the geofence data?
They were looking into the Odinists first, according to discovery? Is that correct? Maybe someone can check me on that if not correct. But then suddenly all that investigation halted. Why? Solitary confinement. PCA alone could get things rammed back in appeals. The basis for the search warrant?
I could go on and on. Of course it's all MOO.

Is that photo from yesterday? He doesn’t look as shaved as in this one and the jumpsuit is different.

Bulletproof vests can be worn inside of clothing as well as outside.

BREAKING: Public status hearing in Delphi murders trial has been cancelled today. A private hearing started at 1, at about 1:35 media waiting to come into the press conference were told there would not be a public hearing today. No explanation from anyone why.

I noticed: They were all quite friendly with each other, RA and the police. Even relaxed. - Is the car another sign of relaxing or are these cars always used? I'm wondering.

Okay - I scrolled thru the last 7 to 8 pages - did not see anything about the closed hearing on Friday - or did I miss it? Any new hearing dates yet? Just trying to keep my notes updated! :)

Thanks for your reply. It nice to hear what someone just coming into the discussions has to say. I think we are a bit at odds in our thinking about things though. I snipped for focus your concerns. Some I'm not quite sure what you meant.

"2 different sketches"
I agree if you mean the second sketch (actually the first one done) coming out was perplexing but I have to say the features look very much like RA, IMO

"missing phone data"
What missing data? Who's phone are you referring to?

"what happened to the interview tapes that were tape over?"
They and others were mistakenly taped over. The jusge has ruled it was not intentionally done, human error.

"Anthony Shots"

What was botched to do with AS's account?
KAK was sentenced to 30 years in prison for what he did.

"RA interviewed with them the first few days and they couldn't figure out he was the dude on the video?"
This was unfortunate and I hope to learn more about the circumstances during trial from DD himself.

"Where is that interview?"
I've read in the PCA there were notes taken and I assume a report made from those notes. Something else DD will testify about I'm sure.

"The "ballistics"
I don't see anything to think LE somehow botched the ballistics. Trial experts on this "science" will be interesting, MO

"The missing blood"
I'm at a loss what/who's missing blood you're referencing?

"The TIMELINE"
I see no botching of the timeline. I see RA's own words, shortly after the murders, saying he was there on tge trails from 1:30 to 3:30pm, I see witnesses corriberated by HS video and a photograph taken and again RA's own words he was the girls who took it.
I also don't see any stated alibi for the defendant.

"The TOD"
Time of death has been stated by LE as being 2:30 to 3:30, a very small hour window. Again, I look forward to the pathologist's testimony to flesh that reasoning out. I think stomach contents may play a very big part as they know exactly when both girls had tgeir last meal of banana pancakes at Libby's house that morning.

"Where is the geofence data?"
The geofencing data is there in discovery. Whether it comes into evidence the judge will decide.

"They were looking into the Odinists first, according to discovery? Is that correct? But then suddenly all that investigation halted. Why?"
Yes, that is correct, LE investigated the Odinists. I think probably sexual offenders were looked into first though, MO. Those investigations were halted at some point because none of the so-called Odinists could be place at the scene, at the time of the murders. They had alibis that checked out.

"Solitary confinement"
Much has been said about this in discussions. IMO, RA was on suicide watch and was being monitered 24/7 for his protection. He certainly could not have been put in general population as that would put him at risk from others and it seems himself.

"PCA alone could get things rammed back in appeals."
What exactly do you think was wrong with the PCA? When I read it, it made logical sense that this person should be looked into more with a search. The judge obviously thought so too, they signed it.

"The basis for the search warrant?"

Again, there was enough basis for a judge to sign off on it. PCA's only include some evidence LE has gathered against a suspect, not all the evidence they have or that the public might want to know.

True. The idea that they don't wish to name their source, yet state that it is a family member of an employee???, doesn't make sense. As far as I'm concerned, though they didn't outright name the individual, they sure did give a clue right? Why would they even do THAT?

YAW. :)

Well, yes. But I wasn’t talking about trying to hide from authorities. If the source wanted to remain anonymous. From the general public.

My Opinion Only

I've been slightly confused about all the doubt regarding the 600 questionnaires JG sent out recently. It's been stated that she did the same thing some months ago; article is dated March 28.
(excerpt from the article linked below)
13News has confirmed the Allen County clerk has sent jury questionnaires to 600 Allen County residents for the Delphi murders trial. The jury will be chosen from among those 600 people in what is widely considered to be one of the most high-profile murder trials in state history.

So I went back through numerous posts and I believe I know where all this doubt comes from. Apparently some online randos who were planning? speculating? considering? leaking questionnaires were outed earlier this year. It would be really foolish to follow through with it now. Thanks to podcast reporting, everyone knows who they are. JG will have their heads if that's the case.

While we have questions, I'm sure the defense team, prosecutor and judge know if this batch of questionnaires is legit or not.

To give it legitimacy. I see nothing weird about that from a journalistic perspective.

A legitimate clue to outing a source that some claim should remain confidential? Still doesn't make sense.....doesn't pass the logic test for this ole country boy. In any event, I surmise the entire affair is fundamentally moot.

Yeah, I don't know. I see what you mean. What are you thinking about it? Leaked intentionally? Or the whole thing's a fake?

So how is the jury selected for trial as it sounds a lot different to how we do it in the U.K. ?

In the U.K. it’s done by an electoral register and no questionnaires are sent out, and it's all random. Just when they call you for a case, if you know the defendant, then you have to stand up and say you can’t be part of this case, and you get sent back to get picked for a different case. Also, anybody with a criminal conviction or the Police can not do jury service in the U.K. as far as I'm aware. So I am trying to understand why the Questionnaire being leaked is such a massive deal.

Because usually it's done just like you described. Jury questionnaires aren't typical.
