I'm not faulting him. Just explaining why he was so soft on her...he manipulated her right back I think.

I suspect she picked him because he is SERIOUSLY handsome and comes across as a really nice guy (one she probably thinks she can manipulate somehow).

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

When I first saw him, it was very clear why she picked him!

As for your post about Kiefer.......what a colossal jerk. And what a nasty, mean thing to say to you. Gee, think maybe HE'S the one who's changed? Sounds like he should think about that.

Because clearly, if you once liked him, he really HAS changed. Sounds very jaded.

I'm just sorry he hurt you, of all people, because you've done so much for so many, and not just in this trial. You're just a genuinely nice person and everyone sees it. I feel bad that this happened to you.

He was soft on her to gain her continued cooperation. It IS the kind of journalistic coup that may well propel him to a larger media market. This is about his career, not her. This is also why he put the interview on the air right away. She demanded it and he complied. Don't want to give up the inside track.

Now, do I wish that Jodi didn't have access to the media? Absolutely. It remains to be seen whether this helps or hurts him.

Thank you!

It totally helps him. Look at all of the publicity and jealousy he has received.

It would influence my answer to know if there would be any KY available.

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

on second thought  (the visual is too much to bear)

Ok it sounds like it will be portraying Jodi as she is: According to the breakdown for Dirty Little Secrets, Arias is described as a single-minded, head-strong, quick-tempered and jealous to the extreme woman who is hell-bent on emotionally suffocating and controlling Alexander, a handsome young Mormon and motivational speaker who soon falls prey. (From Deadline.com, April 17)

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/jodi-arias-lifetime-movie-due-june-article-1.1340480

that actress has Jodi's dead eyes down pat.

Why am I amused that Tanya (sp?) is posing next to a tree, but Jodi is snuggled up to a power pole?:blushing:

I'm not going in to all of it publicly as he vented to me twice about it. But his feelings are clear and venomous I will tell you that. And he turned some of it on me as well which is the only reason I'm speaking publicly about it at all. After those crappy remarks he made about me to my face, I'm done with him after 20 years of friendship. I was holding on to it for dear life but he threw down a hammer and I walked away.

He basically told me my life was in ruins as evidenced by the fact I was attending the trial, that I was a "completely different person" from the one he once knew and that was not a compliment. He's anti DP so I'm telling you, DP opponents turn on murder victims' families eventually, considering them the "enemy" and judging us for having the audacity to hold these murderers accountable. Like the entire death penalty is our fault. And he's jumped the shark right in to that place.

I cut the cord that day and could say a whole lot more of what I know of how far gone he is in terms of bias but I don't really want to give it any more energy. I guess I got stirred up today reading his article claiming yet ANOTHER BS inaccuracy as fact.

I will say this, Kiefer is the one who EMBELLISHED in a story saying Juan was walking out of court daily to throngs of media and "fans" when in reality he walked out that door a total of ONE time during the entire trial for about 10 min and was asked to give some autographs and photo ops. That was IT. He also claimed Nurmi and co had to leave a side door with security which is a BALD FACED LIE. I walked out the front door with that DT many many days and they waltzed, unescorted right past the media trucks to their cars.

It's disturbing to me to read these bald faced LIES reported as fact.

Oh and Kiefer was one of the few media I went up to (before I realized how far he'd gone with his bias) reporting the ALV approach on Sam thing and he sneered at me "what do you want me to do, have her arrested?" and of course NEVER reported on it yet caused a lot of trouble talking to her "friend" about her "ER visit". He was totally sympathetic to her. Ugh, it all makes me ill. I know way more but gonna stop myself now.

hey katie, sorry to hear about your friendship. in regards to his inaccuracies, another thing he 'reported' via twitter was that about 30 people erupted into laughter after alyce laviollette asked juan "mr. martinez, are you angry with me?" when in fact, re-watching the youtube clip, it was obviously only two or three of her friends + the mitigation specialist laughing. given the video evidence to the contrary... that was a suspect thing to say.

maybe i'm misremembering, but it was on his twitter page!

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/201...jodi-arias-guilty-of-first-degree-murder?lite

Snippet:

"At the conclusion of this interview and in light of some of her statements during the interview, Arias was brought to jail and per Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, was placed on suicide protocol," a statement from the sheriff's office read. "Until she is released from suicide protocol by Sheriff’s officials, no further media interviews of inmate Arias will be permitted."

thanks so much for finding this.......GO JOE!!

My opinion is Hayden thought this was "the get of his career" so he coddled her just for the interview (and any future interviews) simply for the feather in his cap.

Kiefer on the other hand was driven by something much more personal...a hatred for Juan Martinez.

Hayden imo, is much less biased and doesn't appear to be reporting things as 'fact" which are mere fabrications or embellishments.

I agree with you Katiecoolady. Hayden is young, and his motivation is how this can further his career. That interview was quite the exclusive bombshell, and I guess he didn't think through how the general public would receive it. I really don't think he did this because he's "fallen under her spell". :puke:

Kiefer, on the other hand, does seem to be very anti-prosecution in this case, and his bias has been obvious throughout the trial. The TH's that claimed Juan blew the whole prosecution will either keep quiet, reverse their position, or claim that the DT screwed up so bad it made the prosecution look good

I'm watching NG, and she showed the family's side of the gallery when the verdict was read. His siblings broke my heart with how moved they were when the jury did the right thing. And I also saw your face and how emotional it was for you, and I was in tears. You've been a comfort to that family KCL, and such an advocate for them, and I'm sure they bless you for it. You got good Karma girlfriend ;).

Hope the potato salad was great, and the movies are marvelous, and that you're pampering your psyche with nothing but positive vibes this weekend. :seeya:

That's Det. Flores daughter. See him/wife at 1:07 in the Corinna Cares Youtube.

ETA: Sorry if already corrected. I'm slooooooooow today. lol

I'm the slow one today. I was thinking Juan, and posted the Detective.
It is the detective's daughter.
(brain scramble)

Just now, on NG, Sheriff said if an inmate wants to talk to a reporter and all the paperwork is done then he doesn't stop them.

Okay this Perryville prison site says all able bodied women work. But, earlier I read that JoJo will have to stay in her cell 23 hours per day. Is there work for her to do in her cell ?

Re: Gus Searcy and his testimony/interviews....

He actually testified that he talked to her about 5/6 days after Travis had been killed.
I think the idea of the "fog" might have started with his inability to remember
actual dates

And I laughed until tears came at their spoof of him on SNL. Funniest thing I've ever seen!

I think that was Chris Hansen ...YOU ARE CORRECT.

[BBM] AND [BBM IN RED]

ditto with GreenEyesBlue -- that WAS Chris Hansen.........Not Keith Morrison

I'm re-watching JM's closing argument (um, no particular reason peeps) and I'm thinking about the Defense Lawyers argument.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to defend someone like JA, or (God forbid) have to touch her, but what really rolls my meatballs is JW'S facial expressions during this closing.

The family is admonished not to show emotion thru facial expressions, yet this is allowed??

I know, old news, but I think it hit me the second time around just smack in my face.

wow. you are a god given angel to the alexander family and victims in general. it must be hard to lose a friend after so long, but that is his loss. bless you Katie!

Kiefer's cruel projection on to me really got me thinking about how people choose to cope when the most horrible thing happens in your life that you can NEVER erase. I'm going to write about it somehow one day soon. I want to say some things about the additional burdens that get placed on murder victims' families (which will come for the Alexanders and has already although they've been shielded to alot of it).

It's like we're expected to "just let it go" or follow some "code of conduct" or "rise above it" or somehow compartmentalize it in a way that makes OTHER people less uncomfortable.

The reality, esp with the DP, we are living with it for the rest of our lives. Healing is a process. Closure never happens.

I felt like Kiefer's judgment of me , aside from being his own projection" was sort of this Gestalt of the whole dilemna we face (or anyone who's been subjected to horrible tragedy). That you're in this spotlight and expected to be some kind of "example" yet at the same time human and continually evolving and doing the best you can at every turn, every year, every anniversary, every trigger.

His words DID cut me like a knife because they were said so casually as "fact" like it was some "given" and everyone knows I'm somehow "ruined" now that I've chosen to step out of the closet of my pain in to this in some kind of "out loud" way, that it's an indicator that I'm "worse off than I've been in years" (which is one of the things he said to me, to my face, in the courtroom). I was stunned. I laughed it off saying "you really think I've totally changed?" (knowing it was NOT a compliment) and he snickered and said "well, look at you, you're here aren't you?". Like this was some kind of leprosy on my face.

It hurts when someone is being cruel. But in reality, it stings him that ANYONE is supporting the Alexanders. It's HIS issue. He thinks THEY have "victimized" Jodi by not promoting her plea deal.

This is what families are exposed to (and more). Usually it just shows up in eerie camps like the Jodi Is Innocent asylum but it's downright disturbing to show up in a relationship like that. It stunned me honestly. But I made a hard decision over it..and I'm still protecting his privacy on some things because I have my own conscience.

Sorry for the rant...I just kind of popped the cork on this (and not on my wine yet..brb).

How can anyone say he was soft on her? The entire 45 minutes hasn't been released yet. I thought he asked some good questions. So far, from what I have seen. :twocents:
