that is a myth along with insurance being higher for red cars.

I know a lot of cops and I asked them that question....they have all told me that red is NEVER a signal to pay more attention to a car verse another car that is white or black or whatever.

afterall, you can get minivans in red and I have never seen a minivan driver be all about speed because they are in their red minivan.

you can also google the myth and find site after site dispelling the myth...including snopes. http://www.snopes.com/autos/law/redcars.asp

As a naturally suspicious person...most people who are suspicious drive black vehicles.IMO.

Big hugs WAM. My gram had dementia, and lived with my aunt for many years. It was so difficult for her, but she never put gram in a home. Even after she almost burned down the house, went on several walk-abouts, and forgot how to eat. That's what eventually caused her demise. But we knew being around family and friends was far more important (and extended her life) than being in a cold, strange, facility.

My heart goes out to you. But know you're giving the greatest give one can give - love and compassion.

Mel

Awwww, thank Mel :blowkiss: I deal with the stress with humor. My little min pin got out yesterday so I was walking the neighborhood looking for him. Our neighbors have a long driveway, and there were these two poodles at the end of it barking their fool heads off. I walked up to see if it was my dog causing the trouble. My dog had figured out that the poodles were trapped behind one of those invisible fences...So he was darting in and out of their area and watching the poodles get zapped. On the way home, I was thinking I could use one of those invisible fences for Mom..... What's hard is, she acts like a smart mouthed teenager sometimes, but I can't ground her or take away her phone...... My only weapon are her favorite treats....cookies! The role reversal is a trip. I am now the parent of a 92 year old child....But I'm lucky to have very understanding neighbors who keep and eye on us, and that helps. Sometimes I think :jail: would be a nice break for a few days though :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

And this docket addition...

5/14/2013 RJI - Request for Jury Instructions 5/14/2013
NOTE: STATE'S REQUESTED JURY INSTRUCTIONS (PENALTY PHASE)

Friends? Heck no...friends to busy tending to trivial things/entertaining themselves to care. Being a caregiver is totally draining. I took care of my dying uncle for a year. He wanted me because he knew I was realistic and didn't want people around who talked to him like a baby and spewed BS from their lips about his health/conditions.

I have a close friend who was a caregiver for his mom when she was dying, she refused the hospital food near the end and made him cook her three meals a day, and they had to be hot, and if she changed her mind when he arrived with food she sent him back home with a second order, or a third! Two of us gave up our lives at that point to support HIM, he still had a breakdown a year later and is currently in rehab. One thing we noticed was all the friends who couldn't drive two hours to see her during all that time who were suddenly there in droves for the final death watch, then made a big scene at the funeral. Know exactly what you mean about the 'health tips' from people who understand little. Or question nursing staff as if they are somehow not attuned to what is going on. Hugs to you for fulfilling such a difficult role for your uncle, it is a very difficult thing to do!

This is taken care of during jury selection in a trial where the DP is on the table ..

Yes, I would hope so. Usually it is, but we all remember one trial there were a lot of people that should not have been jurors on a DP case. I didn't watch jury selection in this one, but it seems that DP is going to be the outcome.

Agreed. I've also come to realize as I've gotten older...Money IS the root of all evil.

money is not the root of all evil. so far from the truth. plenty of people have lots of money and are not evil, do not participate in evil things and oppose evil completely....and use their money for good things.

evil is caused by individuals either by choice or some mental defect...or if one takes it to a spiritual level, by the demons/devil.

in this case, it would be horrible to claim money is the root of all evil when people have donated money to the alexanders and they have received it........all for good purpose.

So victim impact statements can be made in open court?

Actually, the quote reads "the LOVE of money is the root of all evil", and that may be true. Money in and of itself is good; it actually makes the world go 'round ;)

Correction accepted. It's the intentions of evil people who use money for evil. It's always shocking to me how people succumb to power and money. My own sister is in that class. Because she has money and power she makes statements like "Do you know who I am?". Without money and power she is nothing. The whole concept of how that works makes me sick.

Monica Lindstrom tweeting that she heard there maybe some undisclosed evidence issues tomorrow.

Who knows?

My kids were skateboarders for a while...their concern was where they were going to do their next spectacular trick. I'm sure there is no skateboarder alive who's agenda is playing with people's license plates.

Given the spectacular crashes to which avid skateboarders of any skill level are prone, IMO the last thing any of them would do is carry a screwdriver in one of their pockets.

I gotta say that I loved JVM quote on death compared to death. and did the math, which I cannot do this at the moment. MathXmathmath+math. Jave was like.....W H A AT????

anyone have that clip?

I live not too far from Palm Desert. Ok, a couple of hours away. There are only two reasons most people in Southern California have gas cans. One, they keep a can in the garage to fill up the lawn mower. Yes, we use lawn mowers year round. Two, MANY people take trips to the desert, Colorado River and sand dunes to waterski, jet ski, ride ATVs, four wheelers and motorcycles. They need gas for the 'toys'.

Perhaps Darryl had a boat, jet ski, waverunner, 4x4 or ATV. Or did, before he encountered financial difficulties.

I wonder if anyone ever asked DB about whether HE carried gas cans around for trips. The only place I can even fathom for carrying a gas can is going through Yuma, Az. which is basically the same as going through the Sahara Desert. My trips through Yuma have been via Texas.

Gotta tell you, I always thought that too but here's the rub.. I had a red Camaro with a racing engine and t-tops for 9 years. At that time, I was a pretty hot chick with long blonde hair and a lead foot. (Now I am an old fart with a lead foot) I was only ever stopped ONCE for speeding - on I-20 in SC - I told the trooper I had to go to the bathroom and was looking for an exit. He "escorted" me to the next exit where I promptly got out and headed for the ladies' room...did not even get a warning. Just saying ya know... :)

Years ago my husband had a red Porshe 944. I too had long blonde hair. Problem was I am short and the seats were low, so I got a phone book and sat on it. Cops would wave as I jetted by them as I failed to see them until too late. Oh, the things CFJA will never experience. Boo fn hoo. :seeya:

absolutely. anyone with those kinds of toys would have gas cans. I had them for my jeep wrangler, skidoo and atv. also, most lawn mowers are gas powered, so you would need a can for that.

nothing unusual about it....

And most importantly, skateboards don't require screwdrivers for maintenance, but socket wrenches, an entirely different tool!!

I completely agree. The mom is completely believing Jodi's story b/c she WANTS TO...she doesn't want to deal with the reality...like mother, like daughter. I feel sorry for her other children who have been w/o mom for so long now. Like I've said before, it's ok for her to support her child, I understand that...but I don't think it's right that she goes there and WEARS A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RIBBON. That shows to me that she believes Jodi's version of everything.

Im not so sure on this. Could the ribbon represent the Domestic Violence that mom suffered at the hands of Jodi ? What adult child kicks their mother? Maybe, she wore it out of fear, the fear that the verdict could have come in a lesser...Jodi carries grudges forever. She drove 1000 miles to settle with Travis, she could have possibly have made threats to harm her own family.
How does one protect themself from this kind of evil ? Travis' way didnt work.
