Another reason someone might not wear their wedding band is weight gain or loss. The band can be re-sized, but for someone constantly struggling with their weight it would not be a solution.

If I were married, I doubt I'd be able to wear a wedding band. Just could never feel comfortable with jewelry against my skin and didn't have anything to do with allergic dermatitis in my case. In HS, I didn't want to buy a class ring for that reason but my mother insisted. I haven't seen for decades and don't even think about it until something reminds me--like this discussion. :)

So, there are multiple reasons why a person wouldn't wear a wedding ring. Most are perfectly legit but there is that exception. :/

Exactly. I broke my arm last year and they had to cut my rings off swollen fingers and both bands broke. Haven't had combination of time and money together to fix since...and decided in meantime, with spouse of almost 30 years, to reset and redo. Too busy making college tuition payments to do it for another few months still. Nothing to do with anything but life and logistics.[emoji6]

So, no date for this week's Prelim hearing....

TIA if someone finds it!

Hi Spellbound  I have a similar situation, My DH gave me a new ring for our anniversary three years ago. Unfortunately it has been breaking my finger out since. Partly due possibly to a nickel allergy, but mostly I think because the band is quite wide. So I only wear it when I go out, not around the house, water from washing my hands when in the kitchen is retained under the band.
Ive been told that I should wear either 18 karat gold or even better, Platinum. Mine is 14 karat gold . :( My DH only wears his when he's not working because he works with his hands and it's not safe.

Yes, I think the width is my problem these days. perhaps I could get by OK with just a thinner band, but I don't want to replace these. the two together (ending and engagement) are possibly the problem here. And I always forget to take it off to do dishes or other chores, which would probably help.

True on the dermatitis . I've been married for 16 yrs and only wore mine the first year because of this.

So does this mean if he says guilty he gets sentenced then? Or he can plead not guilty?

Then why would anyone plead guilty?

If you plead guilty, you usually get a shorter sentence than you would if you were to plead not guilty, and have the case go to trial.

(Because of plea deals. You don't get a plea deal if you choose to go to trial, and therefore risk a longer sentence).

So in half hour for this?

I've been bookmarking tweeter people and I have one for this case. I'll keep his page open and see if he posts anything. I don't believe it is live-streamed as it's in Federal Court.

See you soon!

JUNEAU, Alaska — A Utah man charged with first-degree murder in the death of his wife on a cruise to Alaska pleaded not guilty during a Wednesday hearing in which he appeared to become emotional at times.
.....

Manzanares, clad in a yellow prison uniform, dabbed his eyes as the indictment against him was read.

Prosecutors have not decided if they will seek the death penalty. A hearing on that issue is expected later this year.
