Listening to NG. Aniahs mom’s pain is killing me.

-Why would she get her “norm” late night snack if she was planning to meet someone?
I think she was abducted and her abductor snapped her roommate making up the name Eric to throw off suspicion. I can’t see a car jacker going this far tho. I believe she was stalked by someone and refused advances in the car. During the struggle the car was damaged and she was assaulted and abducted. MOO

Yes I think it's possible 'Eric' was pressing her to still meet when she insisted she was tired and had to go home.

The thing is though, her mother says that sounds like her daughter's vernacular, but the responses are one to three word answers that anyone can type.. very straight to the point. The last text feels weird to me "I'm so, so sorry" but perhaps that is how she has communicated in prior texts. As someone pointed out, it's strange that in the texts the "where are you" question was not answered.

As others have mentioned, I find it hard to believe shes eating a bag of chips before going on an actual date late at night, while tired too! So perhaps she just planned for a quick meetup.

This reminds me of MacKenzie Lueck to me. I am really frightened for this young lady.

I did not see keys in her hand but now I am going to watch again. This reminded me of Moni's situation with the potential fake messages sent. So sad, I don't have a good feeling about this outcome.
I saw what looks like a single key in her right hand. My car keys are on ring with about 15 other keys. Do most people keep there car key separate from other keys?

I agree with the carjacking theory and I think the perp forced her to tell her roommate that she was fine, which is why she also inserted the "so, so sorry" part. After she sent that snapchat, he probably tossed her phone out the window, and the damage occurred during a struggle. I think the perp lives somewhere in the Montgomery area.

Side note: I think that the friend on twitter is probably just your typical 19-year-oldish person who struggles with being a bit self-absorbed. I don't think that her tweets are intentionally insensitive. Many young people have a difficult time seeing beyond their own lives, but I'm sure she's very concerned about her missing friend.

It is possible that she was sending the texts while sitting in her car at her apartment.

Then the texts stopped.

I don't believe so because it was her roommate in their apartment that the texts were being sent between that's the thing.

Roommate: Are you almost home?
Aniah: Yes
R: Where are you?
A: I’m with eric
R: Who’s that?
A: I just met him
R: I wish you would have let me know. I waited up on you. I’m going to sleep. I love you.
A: I’m so, so sorry. I love you too

That's not a conversation you would have outside your apartment with your room mate who's in the apartment.

What's also bizzare about those texts is when she says " im with eric" her roommate clearly has no idea who eric is because she asks " who's that" then replies with " i just met him" that just sounds very odd its self,

I am in casino parking garages at all hours of the night, and as a man, this is the only time I feel unsure of my situation. I sometimes walk with my car key sticking out of my hand like Aniah, the rest of the keys and fob in my fist. Not sure what good it will do me, but I guess I think it could send a signal to a questionable passerby while alone in a garage. I find Aniah's hold on her keys unnatural, but don't make much of it since she was in the store.

Thanks for clarifying, I agree.

Was the text thread in MSM? Not that I care, I just missed it. Hard to keep up...

No problem its hard to keep up my self and i have had a strong interest in the case as im huge UFC fan and big fan of walt.

I believe the mother recited all of these texts in an video interview i saw today.

Her vehicle was seen on South College Street ( which opposite the chevron) at around 12:30 a.m, Media have reported this as being "just after" she was seen on video in the store, I would't class and hour and 10 mins as just after?

This is interesting because that suggests that her vehicle didn't head onto 85 heading towards where it was found for over an hour after she left the store, What happened during this hour? i would have expected who ever did this to want to get out of the area asap.
After looking at pictures of the parking lot of the curb store, if she is missing an hour. I hope they checked the woods beside the curb store.

Maybe, I missed it. Have her phone records been subpoened, or have her parents looked at her calls? Do they pay her bills and have access to them? I am very afraid that this girl has been harmed or worse.

At first, I thought that she may be afraid to go home. Now, I think that something bad happened to her. I am very surprised that they don't have any video of the vehicle along the route to the apartment or in that parking lot.

This is a tricky one. A few things are bothering me...

She dropped her brother off around 11pm. Has this been confirmed? Does the brother have roommates? How do we know what time it was? Initially it was reported that Aniah mentioned maybe meeting up and brother suggested it was late and she had to work. Then we hear, no that didn’t happen, Aniah told brother she was going right home. So which was it and where did the first version come from? Then we hear it was brother who called parents in the morning. How did he know she was missing? Did work family call him? Why would they call him? Did roommate call him? Did he try to contact Aniah? What was so alarming that police were involved right away? Might this be why LE is tighter lipped with family?

Second thing regarding texts with the roommate. How would the guy know what she was sent on SnapChat warranted a response? Why would he even respond? Why not just let the snaps go? Why not just toss the phone? To me it doesn’t sound like a guy would say “I’m so so sorry”.

So she either met up with this person between 11 and 11:20 or between 11:20 and 11:30. If it was the former, this person stayed in the car and she obviously wasn’t threatened or she would have reached out to someone in the store. But how does she meet someone in prob less than 10min? Seems like if she just stopped off quick she would have said something like “I stopped quick to see Eric”. I guess to me “I’m with Eric” implies more than a few minutes. Just so confusing. Are they sure the time stamps are correct? How would “Eric” know she had Life360 on her phone? That would imply a more seasoned criminal IMO the avg person wouldn’t know to look for that. Who knew she had that feature on her phone?

Last thought is that everyone has described her as responsible and organized. Aren’t most girls smart enough not to meet someone they “just met” at 11pm? It just doesn’t make sense yet her roommate didn’t seem to bat an eye that she was with some random guy she’d never heard of?

Great points.. I would assume, im still with my date or something less odd

With the damage to the car my first thought was maybe a road rage incident or maybe she hit something and bumped her head hard enough to leave her dazed and maybe she wandered off somewhere. Then I remembered another case where these guys were doing bump and runs for some kind of insurance scam and thought maybe someone hit her in order to trick her into getting out of the car. There are so many possibilities.

I can see her being abducted from parking lot of her apartment. I would think the damage to her car may have happened by abducter before he dumped her car in Montgomery. I think the car is a key to solving who did it, not where she is located.:(:(:(

agree... and with so much forest in between.

I did remember hearing that LE had helicopters up. Not sure where they searched though.

Police: Missing 19-year-old’s SUV found in Montgomery, Ala.

Not a new article- Police say the vehicle was found around 6:15 p.m. by a citizen at a complex in the 6100 block of Boardwalk Boulevard, Montgomery. The vehicle was found to have sustained damage between Wednesday night, when Blanchard was last seen, and Friday.

****
Attached is an image of Park Place apartments at 1600 block of Boardwalk Blvd, where her car was found. Not exactly lower income, so IMO, probably a drop spot. Little chance that the perp lives there, they aren't typically that dumb.
There is lower income housing within a mile, following the train tracks behind the apartments (sorry to be profiling).
You might search the thread for more specifics on the apartment complex. We discussed it rather thoroughly all the way down to google reviews and first hand reports.

I spent eight years at Auburn and was there when Lauren Burk went missing. Really hoping this turns out differently, but it looks bad. So very worried about Aniah, and heartbroken for her family.
I am relatively new here and am not familiar. I’ll have to look up that case.
