BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala.(WALA)- Wendy Holland’s defense has rested after calling three witnesses this morning. The first was a former neighbor of Holland’s who’s child grew up friends of the alleged victim. The second was the friend of the alleged victim and the third was the alleged victim’s sister who claims to be a victim of sexual abuse as well.

The trial began with opening arguments. The state told a jury of 10 women and four men that the victim in this case, now 16 can’t remember a time in her life without abuse. Prosecutors said the abuse started at age three or four and continued for 10 years. With no DNA evidence in this case, the defense told jurors to demand to see evidence and not to rely on “he said – she said” testimony.

12:18 p.m. - Heinz said that she doesn't have any physical evidence. Regarding pictures and videos, Yvonne Hall said that Holland erased it.

One year! And was it the year she was waiting for her arrest?

4:01 p.m. - Salter said that Holland performed outstanding work while employed for one year at the V.A. center. Salter said she did not know Holland beyond the work place.
3:55 p.m. - The case resumes with Tara Salter, human resources official at William Green V.A. center where Holland was formerly employed. She is Johnson-Theodoro's first witness to take the stand.

These young folks are forever destroyed by this abuse. You cannot recover from lifelong sexual abuse. Yes you can live with it...but they will all have severe issues.

I think it came out during the defense. Because I don't think there was any cross examination of any of the witnesses? None reported, right?

Time lag between 9:49 witness is seated, 10:23 recess for 20 minutes, then 10:55 tweet lands from a different source...

I would love to see a trial transcript of the case.
From what I've read so far, I think it would have been pretty easy to get Wendy off with a good lawyer.
I don'r see any references to cross examinations either.

Yes, Debbie was a little behind in her tweet and Sharp did not mention it at all. Sharp was a little more sensitive to the nature of the case, imo.

Yesterday - 9:26 a.m. - Fourteen jurors were selected. Of them, 10 are women and four are men.

I am nervous too but i think the prosecution has this, others stood before them and told they abused alongside her. I don't think the defense is strong at all. Most of the witnesses don't know her outside of work or claim to have never spoken to her despite their kids being friends, smh.

I believe i read the jury is mostly female.
