Thanks Zeaux for confirming there were initial reports of the barefoot thing....
If I were gonna pack up my "tote bag" and meet my uncle for a ride outta town, I'd put on my best pair of flip flops for the journey.
There was mention of some clothes being found.... where were these clothes found? I may have read that somewhere, but it seems to have slipped from my memory. Or is that not common knowledge? If you can't answer that, I understand.

I don't believe the clothes being found is common knowledge, but Brittney's dad posted about it in a comment on fb, so it's out there. The clothes were found at the house where Donnie was staying. They're not the same clothes she had at her mom's, so they weren't in the tote bag.

If I were leaving town, I'd take as much as I could fit in my bag, so it seems to me that if she were leaving town that night, she would have added those clothes to her tote bag. :cow:

Is it known whose house DH was staying in?
WH mentioned it, and name dropped on fb (probably the same day of posting info about clothes). Those that he mentioned seem to have disappeared from social media.

a place that is owned by MWK & WWH's BFF (JGM) and her husband.

thanks...I didn't know if was common knowledge and/or confirmed.

Easy peasy! Baldwin County tax records are searchable by name or address. :)

In fact... it is very rare to find a county whose tax records are not on-line either through their assessor's and/or their appraiser's website.

FBM or Zeaux, has there been any discussion about going straight to the feds or has that idea been pretty much nixed?

To my knowledge, DH did not own a motorcycle. He had one vehicle, the SUV. There were photos of him on a motorcycle on fb, but it either wasn't his or he no longer owned it. I've never heard from a credible source that he picked her up on a motorcycle.

BBM: Are we sure the Holland's owned only one vehicle SUV? I could have sworn they owned an SUV and a pickup truck (the kind with back seats).

I thought Wendy Wood Holland typically drove the Suburban SUV and DH drove the truck... or have I convinced myself that a rumor or speculation is true? :waitasec:

If they only owned one vehicle then what about the possibility that Wendy had it that evening and someone else was driving DH around or that he used someone else's car in the middle of the night?

Didn't we think at one time that DH may not have had a valid driver's license? Granted I know it isn't out the realm of possibilities that he'd violate the law (obviously).

Wouldn't it at least curtail the number of incidences of him driving and increase the possibility that Wendy would use the SUV more and that he had other's driving him around.

Here is another hypothetical... since DK lives in the same neighborhood as CW.

DK & DH pickup BW and drive to Styx in DK's vehicle... DK & DH leave Styx in DK's vehicle (with or without BW). DH then returns to Styx in DK's vehicle (with or without DK).

Confused yet? :waitasec:

Bolded and enlarged by me! This is exactly what I think happened.

I called them myself and was informed it was local law enforcement jurisdiction but that if they needed or wanted their assistance they would provide it.

We asked AZLawyer to weigh in on the ability to request another agency take over and she indicated that wasn't likely.

Going to the Chief of Police or Sheriff clearly won't help... would a call to the ADA or DA help? I'm guessing that the legal route vs. the law enforcement route may be the only option yet to be fully explored. I don't know...

I just cannot believe that a missing person case and sex crimes cases of this magnitude do not involve the state or federal authorities.

I've said it before but when the men & women in the black SUV's with dark tinted windows roll up to a house and bang on the door it becomes a whole different ballgame and people start flipping in a hurry.

I'd say the FBI's ability to scare the babycheeses outta folks & get to the bottom of things is a heck of a lot higher than Barney Fife or Andy Griffith...

I honestly do not mean to sound hateful. I am certain there are many fine LE personnel at MPD & BCSO. I just wish they could do something more for Brittney and these children... like pick up the dang phone and ask for help from the ABI or FBI... just sayin'...

All of the above... JMO.

Hi, everyone,

I lurked here for quite some time, and read the timelines and different threads, but I still have a basic question that bothers me. (Maybe I overlooked the answer?)

We know BW's phone made it to Styx River that night. Is there proof that she did?

Thanks.

Welcome LNR! We are very happy to have more members discussing BW!

Yes, her phone pinged and she was speaking with friends & texting from there.

Zeaux, did you ever figure out who (under the names "discustedbyit", "disgusted" and "ks") was making the rounds of all of the MSM sites trying to link you with Scott Wood?

PS, Glad to see you posting here again.

Thanks! Nah, I wasn't even bothered by it. I know who I am & so does the admin here.

Thanks, FBM.

I missed the fact that BW spoke with people while there.

I've been trying to sort what I have read into things that are proven, things that are assumptions, and statements that are possibly intentionally misleading. I knew her phone pinged there, and there was at least one message from her phone to the person who "couldn't remember". Text messages and pings from her phone wouldn't require her presence. I was just thinking how easy/ difficult it might be to make it appear someone was at point A, while they really were somewhere else.

Thank you for straightening that out for me.

I wish we knew more about the weeks heading up to Brittney's disappearance. While I thought Brittney's mom said she was staying with her, it's also been said she was couch surfing; staying with different friends. What friends? How was she supporting herself? Was she applying for jobs, looking at taking GED classes? Did she have plans for her future? How did she spend her days? Why did she stop working at Food World? I wish we had more background info.

Facebook offers a very limited glimpse into a person's life. I think the real Brittney is a very different person. Her family said she feels invincible. Is that the real Brittney or an act from a distrustful and vulnerable young lady? If we knew more about her past as we might have more insight.

100% agree!! But I do know people that take odd and end under the table jobs or are drug runners / couch surfing and stuff but they always seem to move on in 2 weeks. With her family stating she was only gone for 3 days (but returning to where?) ... I'm just confused. I feel like if we had a straight forward honest answer to the months of April - May, we could get a better view for how she handled stress, daily life and who she made sure to stay away from and who she clung to. That's our big piece of the puzzle (well, one of).

Thanks, FBM.

Which is what part of me is wondering if that is what happened when her phone pinged in Grand Bay and the apparent text to the high friend. Curious what the text said in the first place. Was it something generic like "Hey!!! What's up?" which anyone could have sent or did the text include anything within it that only Brittney would have known about like "You remember when I told you last Friday at 1:33 p.m. that on my 5th birthday I ate 2 1/2 pieces of cake?" I was obviously just trying to make a point. Some information could be gleaned from the message itself that might help determine if it, in fact, came from Brittney.

We are thinking along the same lines... I was even taking it further, and looking for evidence that Brittney was proven to be physically at the Styx River location.

I can visualize search efforts being concentrated in, say, Alabama, while a person was, willingly or not, being moved or placed hundreds of miles away.
(BTW, do I get extra points for such a long, run-on sentence?) :blushing:

MOO -- Pretend the cow icon is placed here (-:

Does anyone know how to insert a table into a post?

I see the "wrap table tags" icon but I have no clue what that means or how to use it.

Sex crime suspect in court
Updated: Thursday, 30 Aug 2012, 10:12 AM CDT

A family friend of missing teenager Brittney Wood... William Brownlee is one of five men arrested for allegedly having a *sexual relationship with an underage Fairhope girl.

Investigators say she (Wendy Wood Holland) knew about the sexual encounters with several young victims and didn’t report it.

http://www.fox10tv.com/dpp/news/local_news/baldwin_county/sex-crime-suspect-in-court

*there they go again with the "relationship" language...

I'm going to try to remain optimistic that even if this "relationship" is considered "statutory rape" and the fact that Wendy Wood Holland knew about the several young victims' "encounters" - that it collectively withstands a better chance of being considered a sex ring and/or possibly in exchange for money, favors, drugs, housing, whatever... or at the very least bribery/extortion...

ANYTHING to make these charges far more serious against everyone will increase the chance of Brittney being found and justice being served for the victims.
