It must have been powerful medicine for Casey that a highly respected assistant director of corrections found him extremely worthwhile as a person--I think the recent pictures of him after being arrested show a man silently grieving for a love lost--maybe for the first time.

I have a hard time believing he has loving emotions for any woman when he's soon going to trial for the stabbing death of Connie Ridgeway. She was a kind, elderly woman who helped her neighbors. LE believes he was paid to kill her.

CW is pleading not guilty by reason of mental illness for Connie Ridgways murder. Its possible some of his recent comments and actions during his escape are related to his need to keep up the appearance of someone who is mentally ill. JMO

I was just listening to this myself. I suppose in blind panic it is possible to go from “run” to “game over” in a second, but it seems odd to me that her thought processes turned so quickly, off her own bat at least.

Ok, so I have a quick question about the 911 call.

Certainly only a few SECONDS of anything in that audio.

I heard Vickey calling out to Casey and did not hear Casey's voice. Then after that, she said the air bags went off and Then the motel room. Again there, I did not hear a peep out of Casey.
Geez then I was thinking many here stated that Vicky did not sound suicidal and I concur.

That got me to think....was Casey playing possum and Vicky thought he succumbed in the accident and it was then she pulled the trigger (allegedly) like a Romeo and Juliet type of thing?

I truly would not be offended if you or anyone laughs out loud about that thought. I have a great sense of humor. LOL

I also heard VW call out Casey and also the name John but heard no response. I believe VW was trapped inside (i.e., passenger side of the vehicle resting on the ground in the ditch) whereas Casey's door could be opened and not impeded. I think Casey left her behind and she shot herself as she planned.

In the video of VW being removed from the car you can hear CW say “is my wife ok” and then “please help my wife”. Whilst his history may show he’s incapable of truly loving someone I do think there was affection there. JMO
I feel so sorry for VW’s mum, her friends and colleagues. They must still care about her and be shocked and hurting trying to figure out the how and why of what’s she did.

LE has said that VW removed up to $90,000 and the total could be higher and the assumption was immediately made that she took all of it with them and they had spent all but the $29,000 found in the motel room. There is no real proof or knowledge that she did take all of it with them, that assumption became fact with repetition.

Anyway, she may have left some for her mother/mother-in-law. They may not know it yet.

Carrying that much cash around would require a suitcase or two if the bills were smaller and if the bills were $100's it would certainly draw attention when used to pay for lunch at McDonalds or a car wash fee.

After listening to the audio several times…..in the beginning, there’s a man saying”911??” Then ”hello?” This does not sound like a dispatcher, its probably CW. Then you can hear Vicky saying “the airbags gonna go off, probably gonna kill us.” She then says “Casey…” then “these airbags are going off, lets get out and run”, then “back to the hotel”. Then there is a mishmash of sound, leading up to crash sounds. Think they covered the actual gunshot sound, because following the crashing noises, you hear them in the car with her, saying, finger on the trigger, she’s breathing……just agonal though.

Just to clarify any confusion, CNN confirmed Casey White was driving the car.

Would the car possibly have called 911? Something like Onstar or whatever? A Cadillac is likely to be equipped with such technology. Or, is she wearing an Apple Watch? It will also call 911 on its own if there is suspected need. Mine asks me first and if I don't respond, it would call. And that's for even a simple trip or stumble, something the watch interprets as an emergency.

Yes, the Sheriff said she committed a terrible security breach because she knew legally she had to have 2 deputies accompanying her to transport this inmate. I can’t find the link at the moment, but articles with that quote have been posted upthread numerous times.

I have listened over and over to the 911 audio, still I cannot hear anything at all from Vicky stating that her finger was on the trigger and she was going to pull the trigger.

In the released dispatch audio, the woman says, “She says her finger’s on the trigger.”

I think that LE released the footage of their videocams because they knew that MSM would ultlimately do a public records request and require it to be released. Maybe they already have. That' s probably the only reason.

And it seems to me like a good idea to show his alert state of health at the time of arrest, to prevent any future accusations of mistreatment?
And also because the public can also be very curious, so we can see how they do their job, have some faith etc. good PR in my view, and very interesting to me.

Ridgway was not elderly. She was 58 . VM was 56, also not elderly.

I'm 59 and I'm not elderly.

All three of us fit into the broad range of middle aged.

According to the presser, they left 29k at the motel and guns. It is clear to me that she knew she was on borrowed time. She spent a tremendous amount of money with no real plan to get out of the area beyond where they drove to. With CW believing that they would engage in a fire fight with LE, I tend to think that she was okay with the situation going this way for whatever reason she had. JMHO.

I remain unconvinced of the 29K discussion. I just feel this is only partial information and more will come out eventually. We keep asking "how they spent all that money."... I just feel we don't have the full story of the money.

There is a story, which Apple uses for advertising, of a hiker (or maybe a cyclist) who tripped and fell- knocked himself out. The watch called 911 and also helped in tracking/finding the injured man.

I have stumbled and tripped in the garden and the watch (Siri) says "it appears you have taken a fall. Do you need assistance?" If I didn't click on or say "No, I'm fine" it would automatically call 911.

Has someone said the shot was to her forehead? That wasn’t part of the released info. Someone (last night) mentioned that it sounded like the officers who took her out of the car said there was an exit wound on the top of her head. I had a hard time understanding much of the recording from the audio file, but it’s somewhat easier in the video for some reason.

I’m not a medical examiner of course and did not see her afterwards. Saying “let’s get out and run” and what sounds like a desire to get back to the hotel does not sound suicidal, and it feels possible that the crash caused her finger to close on the trigger.

I suppose there’s definitive reason to believe it was intentional.
