Probable cause/preliminary hearing. If I understand correctly, one of the attorney's has asked that the hearings be held separately for PS and DB.

Sorry, I'm bouncing back and forth between here and KB's trial. Hopefully, we'll see some more news shortly. So far, it appears that Xavier Harris, WVTM13 is the only one reporting. MOO

Patrick Stallworth appeared in Jefferson County Circuit Court around 9 a.m. for an initial appearance date for Stallworth to hire an attorney.

Derick Irisha Brown, who is also charged in the case, was also in Jefferson County Circuit Court on Monday.

Kamille McKinney: Attorney says Patrick Stallworth innocent of child’s murder

Veteran defense attorney Derrick Collins was appointed Monday morning to represent Stallworth on the capital murder charge. He already had been appointed to defend him on child *advertiser censored* charges filed shortly after Kamille’s abduction. Police have said none of the pornographic images were of Kamille.

“He did tell me he’s innocent and that’s why he wants to defend himself,’’ Collins said. “He wants everyone to follow the law and give him the presumption of innocence.”

“It’s a bad situation for him. He’s very distraught. He’s just confused,’’ he said. “He’s trying to accept the situation he’s in and learning to try to deal with where he’s at.”

On Monday, however, Stallworth told the judge he had not been able to hire his own attorney and requested that Collins be appointed to his case. Jones set a preliminary hearing for Dec. 10 at 9 a.m.

Danneman said Monday he was not yet ready to make a statement on Brown’s behalf. He did ask the judge that their preliminary hearings be held separately, which the judge denied.

Kamille’s father, Dominic McKinney, and her paternal grandmother, Lekisha Simpson, were at Monday’s hearing, but didn’t want to comment publicly afterward.

Collins said after the hearing that it’s his understanding Brown has given police a statement against Stallworth and suspects ultimately the pair will be tried separately because of that. He said the couple had been together more than a year. bbm

While other attorneys turned down Stallworth’s request to represent him, Collins said he is not deterred by the nature of the crime. “They’re all tough because you have to deal with the community and public opinion,’’ Collins said. “This is what I do. This what I swore an oath to do. I’ve handled death penalty cases and capital murder cases for 20 years.”

Has this been discussed? At minimum it’s msm confirmation of a bounce house. Strange a family member would come out and make a statement like this, it could hinder the prosecution.

I'm also anxious for the arraignment since I've also raised the question as to whether the right man was behind bars.

IMO, whoever did this to KM could not have been his first time, and PS has no criminal history! (His record limited to misdemeanor MJ possession charge 15 years ago). Not to mention PS's family reaction to bond him out in record time. None of that follows.

And if KM's own family raising the same suspicion, they might be on to something...

I still want to know why they focused on these suspects initially. Because their car matched reports of the one scene by the 11-year-old? Were they confirmed to be in the area at the time?

A GPS Chip inside every Sex Offender would be a good start.
Video Cameras at every red light would help and entrances to city parks.

Other countries successfully use chemical castration and have minimal recidivism rates. I don’t know why we don’t use it here.

Maybe it’s the name, people don’t understand it’s not physical castration? It’s taking pills to eliminate a sexual drive, and it’s not permanent.

This bothers me enormously. I have a hard time believing this guy was charged with capital murder without an iota of evidence. This case drew attention nationwide. JMO. I dunno what her angle and/or motivation is. You know good and well the defense will try to call her to testify now.
