i can't believe this case isn't front page news, it's just tragic what happened to this brother and sister!!!! no one seems to care.....i'm just heartbroken that there has been no attention to poor natalie and chase :tears:....i'm so glad that so called father got the death penalty and i hope this monster gets it as well :furious:.....just reading these articles makes me sick :tantrum:

:rose: natatie....we care and justice is on the way
:rose: chase....justice is on the way for you too sweetheart

:heartbeat: :heartbeat:

The way I remember it, they went missing and were found when many other high profile cases were evolving... Caylee, Hayleigh, Zahra, Kyron, Sandra, Gabriel, Stacy/Kathleen, Susan Cox Powell, Travis Alexander... plus I think it has been so long that they have simply been forgotten. So sad that they did not get the same attention. I was gone for a couple of years, and I honestly don't seem to remember many things any more, but I do remember Natalie and Chase. God bless you, Queen Bee. I hear you.

Hk is the demon spawn and I have a hard time believing she will not get the DP. These children are better off dead. How tragic is that? Ugh.

:rose: :rose:

I pray for justice for these poor babies.

Defense rests in Heather Keaton capital murder trial

The defense rested Thursday, May 21, 2015 in the capital murder trial of Heather Keaton. Keaton is charged in the deaths of her stepchildren, Natalie and Chase in 2010. The defense called its final four witnesses followed by one rebuttal witness by the prosecution.

One surprise was when the defense called the lead investigator on the case back to the stand as their witness. They referenced a letter John DeBlase had written in which he admitted to choking his own two children to death. Putting blame back on DeBlase has been the goal of the defense. In what wasn't a big surprise, Heather Keaton did not take the stand in her own defense.

Judge Roderick Stout sent the jury home for the holiday weekend. Closing arguments will be heard on Tuesday, May 26.

Jury deliberates in Keaton capital murder trial

MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

A Mobile County jury is now deliberating the fate of Heather Keaton. She faces three counts of capital murder in the deaths of her two step children, Natalie and Chase DeBlase in 2010. Over the last two and a half weeks the jury listened to testimony from more than 60 witnesses.

Closing arguments took about three hours. The judge didn't put any time limit on it because of the vast amount of evidence and testimony that had to be addressed. The indictment lists three counts of capital murder…one for the death of each child because they were each less than 14 years old. The third count is for the murder of two or more individuals in the same course of conduct.

i am sooooooo praying that this monster is put to death just like their "father".......these poor children were treated like trash and thrown into the woods only after being tortured and abused :furious:......

it is a tragedy that this story is not FRONT PAGE NEWS night after night after night as a warning to these creatures that roam among us masquerading as humans as to what we as a society will NOT tolerate.........abuse and torture and kill our children and we will kill you.......it's just that simple :furious:

:rose: natalie, justice is on the way sweetheart

If I were on the jury, I would be done deciding already (Burn in hell!)
Let's hope they can all agree quickly, even though they have so much evidence they can sift through.
Praying for clarity and resolve for these jurors.

MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

In their five hours of deliberations so far, the jury in the Heather Keaton capital murder trial has come back to ask questions of the judge three times. In their first hour of deliberations on Tuesday, the jury asked Judge Roderick Stout to again read the charges as it relates to aiding and abetting and accomplice liability. The jury once again asked that that portion of the charge be read to them. Another question the jury had was what constitutes reasonable doubt.

Waiting For Verdict In Keaton Trial

http://www.wkrg.com/story/29165236/waiting-for-verdict-in-keaton-trial

UPDATE 11:41 AM

For the second time the jury has asked a question about aiding and abetting. They asked if the state has to prove all elements of capital murder if a defendant is convicted under aiding and abetting. The judge merely read from the law and indicated a person can be convicted on the grounds they aided and abetted a capital crime but not necessarily committing the crime itself. The jury has left for its hour lunch break and will resume at 12:30.

This has opened another debate for the DA and defense. The state wants the judge to allow the jury to have a printed copy of the oral instructions the judge read yesterday. The defense is resisting this request but the judge is inclined to allow more debate on the issue. He hasn't made an official decision on that.

Jury finds Heather Keaton guilty of capital murder for the death of Chase DeBlase and guilty of only manslaughter for Natalie's death

WHAT??????????????????????????????????????????

I THINK I MIGHT FAINT :furious: i am so mad

I haven't had a chance to go back and read on this case, do you have thoughts on why they only gave manslaughter for Natalie?

UPDATE: 2:50PM
Heather Keaton has been found guilty in the capital murder of Chase DeBlase and guilty of manslaughter for Natalie DeBlase.

The jury handed down the decision around 2:40pm on Wednesday following deliberation. The first and third counts were not guilty.

The judge is currently discussing the verdict with council.

Keaton is the woman accused of using anti-freeze to poison the two young children of her husband John DeBlase in favor of their unborn child.

More on this developing story on News 5 at 5PM, 6PM and 10PM.

the only thing i can find............i seriously am going to be ill.........and btw, the anti-freeze is probably the most humane thing she did to these angels :tears:

i will check in later, not that anyone is here or cares, but i care about you natalie and chase :rose: :rose: and i will calm down and we shall muddle thru the next stage.........

:rose: natalie, you got a "guilty" sweetheart :heartbeat:

She was so jealous of Natalie! This makes little to zero sense to me.

'Bizarre' verdict: Heather Leavell-Keaton guilty of capital murder, manslaughter in deaths of DeBlase children

http://www.al.com/news/mobile/index...l?hootPostID=17d8bf964d3dce8e4797162623b007c7

(snip)
According to its verdict, the jury felt Keaton's role in Natalie's death was different. After the verdict was read, several on the prosecution's side of Circuit Judge Rick Stout's courtroom seemed perplexed and one prosecutor not working the case was overheard calling the verdict "bizarre."

(snip)
The verdict was troublesome to both the prosecution and defense. After the jury was escorted from the courtroom, District Attorney, Ashley Rich told Judge Stout that she was concerned with the inconsistency of the verdicts. Defense attorney, Jim Vollmer agreed and both sides retired to the judge's chambers.

There is a gag order in effect until the trial is over so lawyers could not answer any questions. Nor could members of the Keaton family who were present. The sentencing phase of the trial will begin Thursday morning, May 28.

i have no idea libra..........i agree with the prosecutor quoted.....bizarre......with a guilty on chase for capital murder though, maybe they will sentence her to death still........

unbelievable, such an injustice to natalie :tears:

I have been catching up. This whole case literally makes me sick to my stomach!

But thank you queen for being here and showing me these children. Borndm (?) mentioned "witnessing" over on jerseys thread. I also saw someone mention that on the Isaiah Torres thread. It really resonates with me. I feel compelled to see these stories through. I feel like these children need everyone to witness their tragedies so that we may become angry enough to do something. To stand up. Become advocates for these victims so that the next may be saved.
