All Sauvie Island Searches

I'd be interested to know if Terri had ANY scratches on her face, hands, arms, legs, etc. on June 4. Most of these places look as though you have to go through brushery, etc. and surely you can't go very far into the area without a scratch whilst toting, pulling a child, bag, etc.

I also thought about this as I was exploring this idea here. But if she was indeed in this situation, I am certain she would have made sure to cover her arms, legs, hands etc to avoid scratches. I do agree she would not have gone far off the road for a multitude of reasons- although by this point in time, if tragically there is a body present, animals likely scattered bones, clothing, etc. I hate thinking about those things, it upsets me greatly. After 4 months I still cant numb myself to that possibility and it disturbs me so.

May I please ask are they doing any more searches anywhere today or ever?

Yes, they are still searching. They just held a big one on Sauvie Island over the weekend.

PORTLAND -- After a month with few public developments int ehKyron Horman case, more than a hundred searchers swarmed Sauvie Island on both Saturday and Sunday, looking for clues to the location of the missing boy.

Thank you for answering me.Are they going to search anywhere else?

Interesting. In this video there is a quote where they say Police say they are not searching for any one piece of new information just being thorough.

OK after the video is over and the Newsperson comes back on she ends the segment like this...

"Reliable sources tell news channel 8 that the investigation recently uncovered information that prompted them to examine new areas of Sauvie Island and go back over areas they already searched."

Yes, I noticed that contradiction yesterday, Grandmaj! It made me think there is more to these searches than meets the eye.

One-hundred-seventy search-and-rescue personnel participated in Saturday’s search, Lindstrand said. The island search continues through the weekend, with at least 110 searchers on Sunday.

Sunday's search breaks out like this: 85 searchers are combing the ground, 12 searchers are on horseback, five searchers are using dogs and at least eight searchers are on ATVs.

It is good to see they are searching again.

If she backed her truck up to a particular spot, had him in a weighted container or bag, and simply dropped that, it wouldn't be hard. It was muddy and rainy and she could have easily covered any tracks her truck made to waterways edge. She could have had plastic booties over her shoes and gloves and a throw-away poncho on as well. I think from her CSI shows she knew enough to not have marks on her body if at all possible.

I think we discussed this on another thread where it would be easy for the search dogs to catch the scent of Kyron even under water, and that it is not likely they would miss the scent even if he was in a container because it would likely have holes in it, or else it would float.

Lindstrand did not say exactly what evidence the crews were looking for. But she said they were not following up on any one new tip.
"We're being thorough, is what we're doing," she said.

Any chance they're following on two or more new tips?

Does LE typically brief the family prior, during or after a search?

I'm so afraid that if LE is looking for a deceased KYRON (I think they are)
that if his little body is not in a bag or container........after 4 months,
like little Caylee, his little remains could be spread over allot of ground.

How could anyone be so mean????

On this balmy Sunday, searchers were instructed not to talk to the media or discuss their tactics. However, we did overhear one searcher with a dog – one of five dogs sniffing over Sauvie Island Sunday – say "Bones, we're looking for bones."

Completely and totally my opinion only but I really do not like that they used something supposedly "overheard" as a headline on this news page. I don't like it at all. :(

Me neither. It struck me as pretty careless journalism.

I don't like it either, and it worries me that there were only five K-9 searchers, which makes it pretty easy for LE to deduce who said it. We need ALL those K-9 people (and more, IMHO), and I don't want anyone kicked off the search parties for letting information out. Bad journalism.

according to this NEW HELP has arrived..........task force????

Are they searching today???
http://www.katu.com/news/local/104213469.html

Outside help has arrived
After spending more than a million dollars looking for Kyron, the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office called for outside help Sept. 15. Sheriff Dan Staton said Multnomah County detectives would make up 30 percent of the new search team and outside agencies would provide the rest.

pf, I interpret this as simply describing the 'new' task force, which is made up of investigators already working on the case. The 'team' may be new, but consists of seasoned people.

If it IS true, then its gives us some idea of where they're at in the investigation. At least we have an idea of what they're looking for instead of wondering its just looking for batphones again.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're ticked off at whoever leaked the info though.

I'm reposting my post #257 from above, because my link to the map was wrong and it's too late to edit.

I know they're searching the other side of Hwy 30, but does anyone know if NW Morgan Rd continues as a public road past the home you can see here (like a BLM road or something) and and does anyone know what's at the end of it? Also, can you hunt there? (I just keep thinking about the man who says he spotted TH coming out of a road north of Logie Trail Rd.)
