Breaking news here in Cleveland! Amanda and Gina have been missing for 10 and 11 years. The families have never GIVEN up! Also found Michelle Knight in the same home who has been missing for 12 years

Wonderful day in Cleveland. Never give up hope.

I'd like to think you are right that something that simple would deter this kind of thing but I just don't think people who are capable of this kind of crime ever think about getting caught or care-

I think about Jessica Lundsford who was taken, held and buried alive within eyesight of her home.

Monsters think of the now not the future.

Yes and the police did search that home and jessica was alive and in the closet. That search did not save her life unfortunately. There just aren't any easy things that can prevent all of these horrible situations.

I'm aware there are many who believe that the 911 dispatcher was thorough & professional, but I beg to differ. S/he received a call from someone who was clearly distraught, saying she had been kidnapped & was now free.

This dispatcher kept saying "Talk to the police when they get there - talk to the police when they get there." It seemed to me that s/he wanted to end the call.

This dispatcher did not ask Amanda if she was injured or ask if she needed an ambulance.

Dispatcher: "I told you they're on the way (referring to police)."

I've been in an emergency situation before (attempted home invasion), and thankfully, the 911 dispatcher I was lucky enough to contact kept me on the line until LE arrived. We have excellent 911 dispatchers where I live. I'm not so sure about some of Cleveland's 911 dispatchers.

IMO, it doesn't matter that Amanda was at a neighbor's house when she made her 911 call. Until LE arrived, she may have still been in potential danger. The dispatcher should have kept her on the line until LE arrived.

At no time did the dispatcher ask Amanda if she knew whether or not her kidnapper was armed with firearms or other weapons. I think this was blatant negligence, especially since police need this type of info when responding to a call, so that LE has as much info as possible when responding to a call.

Amanda & Charles are to be commended as heroes. In their 911 calls, they both demanded immediate assistance. I wonder if Amanda & Charles hadn't been so adamant & assertive in their calls, if police would have been dispatched as soon as they were.

As far as I'm concerned, the dispatcher who answered Amanda's call needs more training.

Hi ilovemew,
Just click on the little red and white triangle in the upper right hand corner of your post. A new window will open and you can state your reasons for requesting a mod there. Then click the submit button at the bottom, just as you would to submit a post on a thread.

Hope that helps.

:)

Okay thanks, I just have a question :-)

Yeah it would. That's exactly what they did when they were trying to find the Boston bomber who was on the loose.

And police missed him too. That area was supposed to have been searched. For whatever reason it was not. Only when the boat owner went to look the suspect was found.

According to the son, his parents separated in the 90's. So this would make sense his wife knew nothing about these young girls years later being held captive in the basement or elsewhere in the house. And when AC kids where in the house (he would abduct his own children from their mother) they could not have access to rooms which were locked. Sick b@st@rd. These don't even deserve a trial IMHO. It'll be just a huge waste of money. Let's pray they all plead guilty. Somehow I doubt they will though, especially the brothers being as they didn't live in that house. They will blame it all on their brother. :stormingmad: Thank God we have these women as witnesses.

Among his infrequent contact with his father, whom separated from his mother in the 1990s, one recent conversation particularly stands out in Anthony's mind.

This may have been addressed earlier, so I apologize up front if it has.

I live locally and our local stations are playing nothing but live reporting of this miracle. I've heard the 911 call probably 100 times today at work and two things that I noticed. First, it is obvious she had access to a tv because she says she's been on the news for ten year. Second, she knew her address! I know that's not that important but I wonder how....

Yes, she also knew her abductor's EXACT age when asked, 52.

I'm local. Fox 8 Cleveland is reporting that a new search warrant has been executed for any bodily fluids related to birth. So so sad.

Michelle's story really tugs at my heart.... Just feel like her family didn't fight enough for her. I truly hope her mother is being honest about searching for her. I just don't understand no reports on her and mom moving off to another state. I hope her story doesn't fall between the cracks in all this. She deserves just as much as the other two. Hope she finds healing and safety in a true family member who will help her and not just in it for the media..... JMO

Is this the mother that abandoned the brother in a dumpster and left the family?

I don't think his "sources" should be blabbing all this personal, horrific information the girls are telling investigators to a reporter who blasts it out on twitter. It is wrong. The girls should be allowed to tell their own stories on their own time if they choose. It is just sensationalizing their nightmare.

Amen. I said it before and its' worth repeating. We all know the basics of what happened. Anyone who needs more gory details can wait for the book if any of the girls want to write one and at least make some money off of their ordeal. We all know whether they wanted us to know or not , we now KNOW and that huge part of their privacy can never be taken back. Isn't that enough ?

I wonder if he lived elsewhere, too. I just heard a statement read from a neighbor who said he'd see Ariel go in the house with a bag of McDonald's and come back out shortly without the bag. On Fox.

It was reported that Ariel was taken into custody at McDonald's. I wonder if he went to pick up food for the captives and didn't take the time to lock the basement door, allowing Amanda to escape.

Is it just my eyes, or in the hospital photo of the 6 year old, does it look like there is bruising on her right wrist? It wouldn't surprise me to learn that Ariel used the child to manipulate Amanda - perhaps this was the first time that Amanda and the girl were both 'free' at the same time and that's why Amanda chose this particular time to escape.
