snipped

Next stop was AL/CL house on Randall Drive where she was kept in a back bedroom. (!!!!) He made her give him PIN numbers, etc. They said that CL had zero contact with BC and they said as a matter of fact CL made huge efforts to NOT be around BC.
(end of this post...more in a minute)

This stood out to me because we already know AL version. When I hear it as a juror I would wonder if she was downplaying her involvement. It seems like a "she said he said " between the two of them. The direction this is headed as a juror I would be looking at the physical evidence. texts, dna etc.

There was a whole big discussion about this with Carl, Jr and how he knew who the call was for. CCjr was asked what name BC used when she called him on the phone or left a voice mail. He testified that she always called him "Son". If that had been meant for him, she would have said "Son, I'm okay....." Instead, she said "Carl". That told him that message was meant for his father.

Why would it even matter which Carl it was for? Doesn't change the intent of the message.

Someone said BC had a Hundai. I remember seeing a picture of her Cadillac and that is what this report states. No big deal, but cost wise it is a big difference. They asked how she could afford a Cadillac. And I'm not bashing BC as I understand how real estate agents must look successful to be successful.

Oh, lord...was there a discussion about THAT! LOL CL had a Hundai...is that maybe what you are thinking of? BC did in fact have a Cadillac and that led to a whole big thing about how realtors need to look professional and their car is like their office. The Carter's were having some financial issues and BC had traded cars recently. James was trying to make that look like BC was not making good decisions because she was having a mid life crisis. I thought he and Ms. Rhodes were going to wind up in a cage match before it was over. He kept saying things like she was "living a lie" and Rhodes kept trying to explain that while she had traded cars, her payment was something like $1 less. James was insinuating that she was out spending money like a drunk sailor.

That whole thing may have been the outburst that caused the judge to threaten everyone with removal. He was questioning her on something (when she bought the car? Gah..can't remember...Mimi? Help?) Whatever it was, she stated one thing and he stated that CCjr had testified something else earlier WHEN HE HAD NOT! James was very, very wrong and when he said something like "Well her son testified to X earlier" everyone in the courtroom shook their heads no and a hushed "nope!" sort of went up in unison. James totally mis-remembered what CC jr had said and that's what caused the "outburst", although that word is pretty strong for what actually happened. It wasn't like people were screaming stuff out like the news made it sound. There was just sort of a unison of whispers and some rustling.

How did the family hold up, jstkiddin? I've worried ALL day about them.

They seemed to be holding up very well from best I could tell. Of course, I don't know them personally and looks can sometimes be deceiving..... Thankfully, they had a lot of support there with them. I cannot begin to imagine how hard this has to be for them. :(

Thank you. I can't imagine either! What a nightmare for them!

Defense attorney Bill James countered by painting a very different picture. He said Carter was having a mid-life crisis with her marriage and finances in turmoil. That was when she met with Lewis for sex.

"This ain't about buying a house," James said. "It’s about a hookup."

Yeah. Thats why she made the call to CC for ransom knowing they had no money. Makes perfect sense. (eyeroll)

Jstkidden and Mimi y'all did great and I imagine you are both physically drained. My anxiety went up just following the tweets can't imagine being there.

I'm beginning to think Bill James took lessons from AL on lying. Geez!

I lied. One more thing! LOL

The defense was trying to make a REALLY BIG DEAL out of the fact that BC called ALs spoof number from her home phone!! OMG...like that was a SURE sign of an affair! It was so stupid! Like it's totally unheard of for a real estate agent to make a call from their home. Really Mr. High Powered Lawyer? Surely you're smart enough to know better!

Remember when we went over the phone records that were released a while back and she had like a short call with him on her cell phone and then immediately called him back 1 minute later from the house phone? I said at the time that it was probably because either she had poor reception or that her phone battery was going dead, so she said let me call right back. Don't have to have a fancy law degree to figure that one out, right? He kept on and on about the fact that she called him from her house. Turns out the people that were sitting next to me live a few houses down from BC and they laughed and said you know why she called from the house phone? Because ATT cell reception in that area is terrible! I was so frustrated that the prosecution never brought that up!

Defense was also trying to insinuate that the notes in BCs notebook where she kept her appointments and such were some sort of code to meet up for a hook up with AL/CL. Where she had written the MLS number, the Old River Drive address and the StevenAdams2015@gmail.com email address was OBVIOUSLY a code that she was having an affair! DUH! He kept grilling coworker/friend Rhodes on that trying to get her to agree that it could have been a code and she just kept looking at him like he was the stupidest man alive and kept saying "No, it's the MLS number and address of a house she was showing!"

Some of the stuff he was coming up with was frankly insulting to the intelligence!

He also kept harping on the email she received from AL. It was apparently a blank email that simply said "Listings???" in the subject line and nothing else. Law school apparently teaches one that this a code to meet up for a random hookup. Public high school (me) teaches one that it's probably just a way for AL to send BC his email address. I've done it a 100 times....send a blank or nothing email just to get my email to someone who is driving or otherwise cannot write it down right then. I guess I'm a genius. :eyeroll: Who knew?

Jmho, what they were trying to make point of (def attorney Short) was he asked 2 diff officers if they got BC landline call records and answer was No.

Yes that whole MLS was weird especially when came back to that house.

On....the whole "referral" Brenda R told the LEO that BC told her was a referral from a friend. When asked by def if they ever found that friend,No then she said she may be mistaken, def asked then you would be more fresh in mind correct. Her statement was many pages long.

The def lmao said in opening that (going from memory notes in car) but that CL plea guilty because her attorney told her they have lot of evidence against her an moreless plea was her best option and now she (either feeling screwed or probably) gave impression she may or may not testify as they think. Again that was opening statements so not facts.

Remember that defense job is to create reasonable doubt. State prove their case beyond reasonable doubt.

Tired gonna check my powerball lol

I think the problem is he has a client like Jodi A running the circus and he has to do what he tells him. jmo.

Not that I saw and when he came into the courtroom he did not seem to be looking in the audience like he was expecting anyone.

Just like CL. Wonder if anyone will show up when she testifies this time.

OK gotta say this lmao someone may already said but I wanted to bust out laughing......

Def lawyer Short was cross examining Inv Allison at the sudden end of day, Short asked Inv Allison about various things but one was tips lol had a lot. So Short said wanna go over them Allison sure...side bar ...come back then lmao Allison says there was this psychic that came from California!!!!! Bill James stood up fast and asked if we can approach (side bar) lmao unsure what it about next thing know judge reading instructions to jury then when be back in morning!!

On something was going on with one juror right off bat they spoke at bar for while. He still sat on jury though.
