It sounds like something happened to a baby and the parents concocted a plan to cover up what happened.

This is slightly off topic but....
http://swtimes.com/news/human-remains-found-logan-county
this body did indeed turn out to be that of missing Kelli Rice, if you will note deputy "I once got shot with my own gun after arresting a bank robber and placing him in my car without cuffs bc we went to school together" says the area was searched several times... this is in roughly the same area...
THIS worries me... it isn't that they don't try, its just that they don't seem to be ABLE to do any better.... and then are refusing help, when ALL the historical data suggests they desperately need it.

Floyd was arrested on July 20 after he called the police to complain about a woman breaking into his home and driving around the premises. According to the police report Floyd was driving around his home and was advised to get out of the car. Police were informed that Floyd had a history of mental issues.

It scares me that this young man has a history of mental issues and he is out there somewhere with this little baby.

And he was already having problems with his meds; and you KNOW he wasn't walking around with a week's worth of meds in his pocket; so quick ween off needed meds plus no meds plus serious recent episode = oy vey!!! Sounds like the perfect storm. Add the little one into the mix and...

I agree ... very scary!!!

Obviously I know very little about what really happened but REALLY!?! Arrested for false alarm? If he's truly that mentally unstable & that's the way it was handled I can't see him trusting LE at all - maybe he's hiding thinking he needs to protect his baby! This is so upsetting all around!

Yell County deputies are being helped by the FBI, Arkansas State Police, US Forest Service, Logan County Sheriff's Office, Sebastian County Sheriff's Office and Greenwood Police Department in their search.

They asked the public to report any possible sighting of the two, but to stay way from the search area so investigators could focus their efforts on the search.
Quoting my own post...As you can see, that article originally listed all these LE and other agencies in on the search. Now the article has been amended and locals are noting that help is being refused? Why in the world, when it seems that due to the instability of the father every experienced boot on the ground is vitally needed?

From yesterday the FBI was still in the area, I don't know about today, but saw an article or maybe on FB that Yell county was still in the lead of the investigation, and that the FBI and forestry was offering assistance... My post was more about the fact that they aren't asking for volunteer searchers... This is very rugged country and 100 LEOs CANNOT cover it, its just not possible and history has proven this.

ETA: they basically walked right over Kelli Rice based on a tip of exactly where her body was and STILL didn't find her...

I get where you're coming from, Iamme. I just wonder if they are discouraging volunteers because they believe the father to be majorly dangerous and they don't want volunteers hurt?

Do you know if they've tried to use choppers in the area? I realize they would be greatly limited as well, but they sure could cover a lot of ground and maybe see something.

I saw state police chopper taking off from the command center on KARK4's report, the video is on their facebook page..

I should say I haven't personally been over there where all this is happening since it began or even in the last month or so. I have close friends that live near there though, I am in Logan county a little north of blue mountain lake area, I am however familiar with most of the back roads in this area of the state, the woods, the four wheeler trails etc. We spend a lot of time 4wd'ing, camping, and hunting.
I don't think they will see ANYTHING with a helicopter, in some places they might not even be able to see the roads/trails... IF he has that baby in the woods, boots on the ground will be THE ONLY way to find them, its snake season, we have copper heads, two types of rattlers, and cotton mouths. This is bear country. We have mountain lions but not many.
This is a picture of Blue mountain Lake taken from the top of Mt Magazine, in other words this picture is taken facing south to the lake... This isn't my pic... Im looking for some on my computer that show how deep and thick the woods are without any of my family in them to show yall:

I hate to say this, but is there any evidence other than mom's word to say that dad drove off with the baby on his own?

Im not even sure mom has said that much, the fb comments tend to suggest she hasn't answered much... Im not sure if she is unwilling or unable. My first impression based on fb comment/rumor was that they were broke down and that is the last thing she remembered, and was found by authorities beaten in a wooded area/ditch (could be one and the same). Now that she has been charged I am soooo confused.

We also have an escaped convict originally from logan county that initial rumors said he was headed back to this area to get revenge on a witness, he escaped from pine bluff several weeks ago and the Yell County sheriff said on their FB page that they were considering that a possibility and had warned searchers, then NOTHING else was mentioned about that being a possibility... This would not be the first time escaped convicts kidnapped someone in this area, IF that is indeed what happened, there is a very (locally) famous case of a LEO being kidnapped, killed and thrown in the trunk of his car several decades back, the escapee would have undoubtedly heard this story.

I just don't know, and no one in a community that normally knows when their neighbors pass gas knows anything either... It is VERY strange.

I'm just becoming sick and tired of missing persons news media where it's a total puzzle about what happened, and LE and the news are purposely keeping the true information from the public.

Does the public need to be searching for this man and baby, wandering about in this sketchy broken down green truck, or at this point is that a hopeless pursuit based on what LE now knows about Brooke?

Since we don't have much info on the current case heres a link to the case from the 70s I mentioned above.. It is prlly completely off topic, and not related to the current case or the escape buffington, but will help everyone see why any local LEO (or citizen) would immediately think of an escaped prisoner in a case like this..

Wow. It's a miracle Mr. Small lived, and what inner strength he must have to be able to carry on with his work at the park. Thanks for sharing the link.

nothing new here:

but heres the article that talks about Yell County continuing to "head up the search":
http://5newsonline.com/2014/07/27/update-mother-arrested-after-father-10-month-old-son-disappear/
And this one (unrelated) makes me wonder about the families story vs the authorities re: being beaten and not receiving medical care:

Meant to ask this earlier: Why no Amber Alert?
