I've read it as well. Sorry that I don't have a link, but someone else brought it up again on this thread just this afternoon. I remember it said (that he said) he'd won about $143,000 but he had to split it with 5 or 7 other people, but was going to use the money to move to California.

We have a TON of lotteries up here, but nothing more than $50 million (LottoMax), very unlike some of the massive jackpots you and some other countries have.

I think his bankruptcy report, current residence and other variables might contradict a lottery win.

I'm kind of laughing realizing that Magnotta is just like that silly goose in Baltimore (an actual city...) who worked at McDonald's and claimed a lottery win...

Regarding the court case in NY I found this site but it goes by the month and date it was made public. In the other link given he appeared in court on July 1 2005. Can someone help me search from July 2005 and later.

2004 he was charged with fraud. 2005 he plead guilty and got 9 months conditional and 12 months probation.

I've definitely read in MSM reports (let me know if you want the link) that as a result of that judgement he was Banned from using the Internet, a ban that is still on him.

Say what you want, but this young man didn't know any better. I am the last person in the world to blame a person's upbringing for their flaws, but this kid grew up with absentee parents and a grandfather who gave him liquor to calm him down, when most of us got Kool-Aid or Nestle's Quik. I met him when he was just a child and he desperately wanted and needed boundaries. But nobody ever placed them.

This is so sad. Everyone thought that the "movies" would be this young man's ticket out of poverty and God know's what else. But unfortunately he was too young to have the necessary skils to cope with the success or to rise above his "raising."

My prayers are with him and I hope he seeks help before it is too late.!

He has no family or real friends.

i went thru pacer and typed in "eric c newman" there were only 3 cases and all bankruptcy....

This bothers me. Seems to be his grandmother or something. I'm not sure she needs the harassment. I hope she doesn't check the page anymore or that she makes it private.

EDIT: Wait a minute. I should've looked harder before I posted. It says he created that page. Even if that's true, it's got names of family members. Which can't be good.

I agree there are superficial elements to modern culture; but there are superficial elements of every human culture since early times.

I highly doubt he "turned" into a psychopath. Psychopathy is apparent from a very early age. Something may have happened at 30, that turned him on the path toward brutal murder. But the thrills he got out of animal torture and abuse, and posting the videos online and thus gaining notoriety, suggests that he was in a long evolving process that would inevitably culminate in him torturing and murdering humans. Nothing "turned" him. He just finally did was he was long oriented and driven to do.

Can we be so sure about that? I firmly believe there's a relationship here between LM and the deep web... and that the animal videos and eventually this horrendous murder could've been 'jobs'. LM lived a seedy lifestyle, did that drift the more desperate he became? Desperate to keep his looks, desperate to be famous at all costs. Just kind of thinking out loud here really, but what fascinates me a lot about this case is the links to the modern nature of it all. Social media, the internet, celebrity and fame. It impacts so many people, and brings out the worst in some.

I've noticed a flurry of activity, burning up the Google and court clerk's engines, with Eric C. Newman (not Alfred E Newman) in mind.

Quick Question:
Have we implemented detailed search criteria to avoid tussling the hair of the hundreds of individuals named Eric C Newman not related to this case???

If so, I'd love to assist, what is the search criteria?

Nice find! It looks like the Williams family may have some family ties to LRM.


There are some Luka photos in there I've never seen before, a few with his grandfather (?) and maybe even a legit girlfriend. There are also pics of a the "Williams and Yourkin families", as well as of a "Phyllis Williams" daughter of "Gladys", and a photo of "Walter and Phyllis Yourkin's Wedding, 1959".

So, Phyllis Williams must be Phyllis Yourkin, the grandmother who raised LRM.

Yeap. The thing I find most unbelievable about his winning the lottery is this: what the heck kind of lottery pool did he want people to believe was he in? Yeah, he and 7 other freaks by the water cooler at the office said "hey, let's all pitch in $2 and play Lottario this week!"

I don't know if this is Luka or not, but it came up during a search for the years 2010-2011. Videos titled "Death by Icepick" (1 year ago) and "Ice Pick Murder Practice", rattlesnake attacks, and Ted Bundy. The user is listed as in Canada.

P.S. I didn't watch the videos, as I have no idea what the content may be... maybe someone else can comment?
