Joran van der Sloot, perhaps the most famous Dutch prisoner abroad, is infected with the corona virus. But there is no medical assistance available in prison in Peru, according to his family.

And that is why Van der Sloot's family asked for medical help for him at the Dutch embassy.

Following a report from RTL Nieuws , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that the family's request has been received. The Dutch embassy has contacted the prison in the Peruvian city of Juliaca where Van der Sloot is being held, but the prison could not confirm that Van der Sloot is infected with the corona virus.

A spokesman for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicates that not much can be done about the health situation of a Dutch prisoner abroad and that it is up to the prisons to provide the right care. The ministry says it will keep a close eye on the matter.

IMO, we will never know anyway. I do believe that his story that she was put out to sea is the correct story.
