Not behind his back I'm afraid, it was to his face and was apparently a running joke in the break room.

Going back to the AC4 case, I really think you're onto something with that soup kitchen Cynical. I've said before that I believe there's some kind of religious element to this case, and if our killer is some kind of moral crusader, I'd expect that person to be very much involved in church causes like food banks, soup kitchens and other, similar outreach programs. Gary Ridgeway was very much involved in the church, but that's where the similarity ends, I believe. Ridgeway blamed the prosititutes for the fact that he could not control himself from using their services, this killer doesn't have sex with the victims, and I theorise that he may believe that he is "saving" them from a life of sin and vice.

One of the reasons I was trying to link Franchesca Alvarado's case with the AC4 is that if there is a connection then it would provide a lot more insight into the pattern of this killer. That case is as much of a mystery as the AC4.

Speaking of Ms. Alvarado's case we've been trying to pinpoint the exact date that she visited on a day trip to AC. Going on information supplied by her family it's either March 13th or 17th 2012 - depending on which news reports you read.

In the interest of accuracy I visited The Philadelphia Police website and came across this entry for her:
“On Saturday, March 17, 2012, Franchesca Alvarado was last seen by her sister at her residences on the 4200 block of Darien Street. Franchesca Alvarado had left stating that she was going to Atlantic City with a friend and has not been seen since.”
https://pr.phillypolice.com/2012/03/endangered-missing-person-from-the-25th-police-district/

So, knowing that their investigators questioned the individual who actually was with her throughout the the day, and knowing that they did coordinate their investigation with ACPD, I'm going to have to return to March 17, 2016 as the day she visited AC and never returned.

That would make it a Saturday on St. Patrick's Day. Reports indicate that at 2:00 am (Sunday morning) Ms. Alvarado told the individual that drove her there that she was going for a walk and would find her own way back to Philadelphia. Cameras inside Resorts will attest to the validity of that story.

I've already pointed out the similarities here between Ms. Alvarado's case and Ms. Raffo's. Location, day of the week and time of day almost match exactly. Victim #2, Barbara Breidor, was last seen on a Tuesday (Oct. 17, 2006) so that's not a match. But it's quite possible the other two victims were abducted on a Sunday morning as well.

Makes me think of that Johnny Cash song “Sunday Morning Coming Down”:
“On a Sunday morning sidewalk, / I'm wishing, Lord, that I was stoned. / 'Cause there's something in a Sunday / That makes a body feel alone.”

A killing before church perhaps?

As always, just my opinion.

Ps: Loyality cards given out by the casinos is another method of tracking an individual's movements. Most regular customers are fanatical about plugging them into slots or giving them to dealers to get those comp points.

The retired Trenton homicide investigator who teamed up with the reporter concerning their Dennis Gaskill investigation stated that he was originally investigating the disappearance of Danielle Nuttall-Ravert who was last seen at 12:30 am September 7, 2008.

“A cabdriver dropped her off at the Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden, New Jersey at 12:30 a.m. on September 7.”

Later:

“Nuttall-Ravert's family lives in Egg Harbor, New Jersey. She frequented Egg Harbor, as well as the Pacific Avenue area of Atlantic City, New Jersey, an area known for its prostitution activity.”

So, 12:30 am September 7, 2008 – That would be a Sunday morning.

I've always been curious about the the death of Maria Morales. She was the young lady whose body was found at the bottom of a laundry chute inside The Atlantic Palace on Nov. 1st, 2015. I've never been able to find a report stating her cause of death or the circumstances surrounding it.

“Police were called to Atlantic Palace, a condominium and hotel complex at New York Avenue and the boardwalk, around 7 a.m. Sunday morning. That's where they found the body of Maria Morales of Penns Grove.”

The Atlantic Palace is located on the boardwalk about a block and a half from Resorts. Apparently it happened on a Sunday morning. - Just my opinion.

There is an Australian podcast called Phoebe's Fall which I strongly suggest you listen to Cynical, it's about a young woman who is found dead at the bottom of one of those chutes in a luxury Melbourne apartment building. Phoebe's death was initially ruled as a suicide, but Phoebe's family and friends are convinced she was murdered. Phoebe's grandfather is a former police detective and he staged a very convincing demonstration which, to me, proved that it would be incredibly difficult, almost impossible, to put yourself into one of those chutes. Could be worth listening to for insight into this laundry chute death.

After refreshing my memory on what you were talking about (post531) I do remember looking around a bit but found nothing. You would think there would be at least a trace of a story like that somewhere on this side of the paywall but damn if I could find it. Then again this is AC where a certain image would need to be maintained and I could see the story not being widely disseminated.

I guess someone with a LexisNexis account would have to look for it

It's been pretty quiet in here, anyone hear of any new leads or updates?

I have access to some news searches that could help. I'm trying to search for this case but I might need more info. Here's what I did find (but I'm not sure if it's the right case), I'm only quoting the relevant parts to hopefully not violate copyright laws.

[h=1]MUTILATED BODY IS FOUND OFF ROADWAY: THE DEAD WOMAN WAS IN TWO TRASH BAGS. THE DISCOVERY WAS REMINISCENT OF TWO OTHER DEATHS IN 1992 AND 1993.[/h]John Way Jennings, Dolan, Matthew, Lewis, Larry, Philadelphia Inquirer
March 4, 1996

"The sliced-up body of a woman was found yesterday morning in two plastic trash bags discarded near the Garden State Parkway.
The discovery, made by a motorist traveling Route 542 about 6 a.m., evoked gruesome images of two other deaths involving mutilation and garbage bags in the area since 1992.
The remains of a Boston computer executive were found on the border between Burlington and Ocean Counties on July 10, 1992. A New York man's body was found in Manchester Township in Ocean County on May 10, 1993.
Both of those victims had been dismembered and placed in trash bags that were left along the Garden State Parkway. Those cases have not been solved, investigators said....

John Hagerty, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police, said the woman's body was found near the intersection of Route 9. He could not confirm reports by sources that the woman was of Asian descent.
A police source said the bags were placed in a grassy area about 12 feet from the roadway of Route 542. Investigators believe the bags had not been in that location for more than a short time.
The source said the body appeared to have been mutilated, rather than surgically dismembered. Investigators said the earlier bodiesfound seemed to have been cut apart with a doctor's scalpel or other precision instrument..."

Nice finds Artie, where is Rt 542 & the Pkwy?

I found some followup and it looks like it was near Bass River. Since 542 and 9 sort of meander parallel and have multiple intersections I couldn't tell until I found later info where the woman was identified as Imelda Ritua.

COUPLE FACES CHARGES IN SLAYING OF FILIPINA: AUTHORITIES SAID THE PAIR LURED THE VICTIM FROM THE PHILIPPINES AND FORCED HER TO BE THEIR NANNY.
John Way JenningsAuthor Information. Philadelphia Inquirer; Philadelphia, Pa. [Philadelphia, Pa]14 Mar 1997: B.6.
A North Jersey couple who allegedly lured a Philippine woman to the United States in 1995 under the pretense of an accounting career instead forced her to work as their servant and then beat her to death, authorities said.
Ejaz H. Baluch, 39, and his wife, Marcelina D. Baluch, 38, of Edison in Middlesex County, were charged Wednesday night with the slaying last March of Imelda Ritua, 29.
The victim's battered body was dumped along Route 542 in Burlington County and found a year ago yesterday. An autopsy later showed the woman died from multiple trauma and found healed scars on her body, indicating earlier beatings, authorities said...
``When Ritua's body was found stuffed in trash bags last March 13 by a motorist, the only clue Rehmann and Blaker had was the victim's surname, written with an indelible pen inside the slacks she was wearing,'' Hagerty said...
Authorities said they believed the slaying occurred last March 12. They said they thought the pair beat the woman to death and wrapped her body in plastic bags. The next day, they rented a van and drove the body to the Bass River area, where they left it along the roadside, authorities said.

Now I'm pretty sure this case isn't related to the AC 4 but I'm not sure if this is the case someone was thinking of and we've hit a dead end with this or if there was a different woman found dismembered in 1996...

This is not a serial killer, this is a drug related execution. What these scum dealers do is recruit women who are most of the time prostitutes into selling to johns or being mules for good money but there is one problem...these dealers have to maintain there drug use and their lifestyle to attract these poor women. They use these women to sell and mule their drugs and when it comes paying them it is easier to "take them out back" because there are always a willing replacement. And law enforcement is doing nothing to stop them because in the end the drug dealers are making life easier for law enforcement by thinning the heard so to speak. It is then easy for dealers with the help of a dirty cop or ten to stage a crime scene to cry wolf.

Very interesting. So it's almost like a twist on human trafficking?

I am fairly certain that the Eastbound Strangler who killed the four women in Atlantic City was my uncle Dennis G. He was a very odd man with alot of tics and real bad ocd. He was a long haul trucker and had easy access to not only these women but I expect many others. He killed himself in a Kokomo Indiana jail after being arrested for stealing guns from a gun show and trying to take the cops weapon. The journal pagea found near where the bodies were have striking similarities to the journals we found after his death. I have talked to several women who had been hitchhiking and picked up by him and were completely freaked out. The fact that they were mothers is why thty are probably still alive. He and my aunt couldn't have kids and adopted so i think that kept them safe.

Thank you and welcome, alschmidt. Such a riveting post!
Would you kindly share more about his journal and also about the stories the women hitchhikers shared with you?
How did you come to track them down?

Welcome, Al. Your story is very interesting, and I know we'd all like to hear more. Just please refrain from using real names. Initials, or a first name plus initial, will still serve to get your point across, without incriminating a possibly innocent individual. So, no personal identifying information, please. Save that for the police if you choose to file a report.

You should also consider becoming verified for your own protection. Otherwise, you might suffer undue accusations of lying for personal gain. The info you need is here.

Thats my question too. How does one track down hitchhikers? Or be aware of their identities?
