Thanks all for the update...and the times. Too hard for us to figure out so many miles away! Also for the live stream link!

I am only one page 21 of the 2nd thread and it moves so fast I cant keep up, I came here to see if I can skip it and alas no, I must go back. ive missed so much.

back on thread 2 it was asked where the baby's stroller may have gone. idk how much homeless you have there in Australia but here in the states, they use strollers to cart their stuff around.

Family associate, 41, of Karlie Pearce-Stevenson is 'charged' with the young mother's murder after her body was discovered in Belanglo forest

Can someone explain to me what 'Family associate' exactly means?

Does that mean someone that is family? Or someone she knew? (sorry Dutch language barrier :p)

It means someone known to her family (parents at least) but not liked, or through some kind of activity like work. Not exactly 'family friend', but they knew him.

Associate can also mean known through some kind of nefarious activity.

I wonder if there was some kind of deep hatred between this guy and her family actually. Well, I guess there is now anyway.

Also .. makes sense now why they had to keep her 'alive' on paper and electronically, family and friends from Alice likely knew she was meeting up with him and if Karlie 'disappeared' when she died they'd have been suspected and questioned straight away. I wonder if they didn't open the ABN to keep the farce going knowing full well that once Khandalyce reached school age the game would be up with Centerlink, and not knowing whether or not their absence would be noted, decided to continue Karlie's 'signs of life' by creating a new source of income. I imagine keeping up the fraud would be nerve wracking when you actually have to go in for appointments etc.

Me too. I'm actually wondering if he knew her ex (the guy who slit his wife's throat).

Latest news.com.au article confirms that her car was sold after her death. Which we all thought was probable. I can't decide what adjectives to use to describe this?!?! I'm sure they did more and much worse in terms of her identity theft but what did they think would happen? They/he really did believe that Karlie was never, ever going to be identified. Arrogance or stupidity I hope the witness that purchased it is reliable.

Whew, finally caught up on this thread.

I had a horrible thought and I haven't seen it posted here and honestly I don't want to post it but...

We're obviously dealing with some very sick perps here. Police said right off the mark that what happened to the child was horrific. I remember that we were speculating here at the time how they could reach that conclusion just from locating some bones. It was something we didn't want to think about too much, obviously. I'm worried that something evil was done to Khandalyce, in addition to her murder.

.

I've often wondered about the cause of death as well :( Police know it was horrific and they only had bones and clothing to work with. The lady who worked on doing a portrait for karlie didn't want to know the cause of death so ....That makes me think the two of them were stabbed to death and there was signs of this on the clothing, knife marks blood ect that was found with the remains. That's another reason why the police only released a sketched image of karlies top.........Sorry if ive been to graphic or distasteful.

From all news reports ive seen about the car being sold, that gave the police very strong leads of enquirers to follow from the person the car was sold too. The new car owner was cleared from having anything to do with the crime.

When you sell a car that leaves more paperwork for the police to follow as well, so POI could have sold the car or the girl pretending to be karlie could have done so.

Was the car on sold again after it was sold tot he man in NSW? Or was someone defrauded of the sale in NSW? Hence police don't have the car in their possession?

I don't think police can locate the car since it was sold, crabby. 'Vanished without a trace' a la AJ'S white station wagon in WT's case.

It was a pretty old car so eventually may have ended up at the wreckers.

I wouldn't say that necessarily Mrs Norris, (although you could be right) - associate could just mean they don't know him very well, meaning not a close family friend, or not known for a long time. They could have met him briefly through someone else. I have people that I would consider "associates" that I know to talk to in the street, but don't have enough in common with them to socialise with them for example.

Amazed how the car can go unless he sold it as parts. Otherwise there would be more transfer papers. And a annual vehicle check in NSW. The Commodore fans loved the Nissan black motor in VLs

Dont they have to hand the number plates in? mmmm
