You are correct it's not confirmation. Yet it has been alluded to in prior MSN articles where SAPOL have even considered it themselves.

<modsnip>

Would you post those links please Puggle?

Hope it is OK to post here.
A trail bike rider discovered the skull, spine, pelvis and at least one femur lodged under a log in dense bushland on Sunday, close to an area known as Dalys Waterhole.
Police said the skeleton, and a clump of long hair lying next to it, was located in a section of the forest not previously searched.

Grisly find reopens wounds of Milat's killing field at Belanglo State Forest

Yeah the whole thing is totally freaky.... Karlie's remains were found in roughly the same area that Matthew Milat murdered his friend (Daly's waterhole - off point woods fire trail).... noted the spot was NOT in the same area that Ivan Milat Killed his victims....way too strange...

Would you post those links please Puggle?

There is just one that I can think of...where it mentioned that SAPOL said....Mmmm these are well known drug smuggling routes..I read it today.<modsnip>

But I will try to find the link...sheesh...

It was possibly in this article....which is a pay walled article in the Australian.....so my word will have to be accepted for those without a subscription.....

If anyone want's to help me out here with a link (Un pay walled)<modsnip> that would be fantastic

This article gives the length, not the colour - her hair could have been sun bleached or too damaged by elements to determine the colour.

* She had shoulder-length hair, although investigators do not know the hairstyle.

Cheers Sleep!
Sadly, it doesn't help as "shoulder-length" is a bit of a flexible description.
I'm trying specifically to find colour details and hair analysis.

<modsnip> I will try to find them in the AM..

Will try to find the specific article I am referring too....this was way before the recent revelation of an informant or a crime stopper call.....there was 100% an article where SA police mentioned something about this being a well known Drug Smuggling Route..

Maybe the link is even in the Thread Makara set up...

I think the photo of Karlie at Marion was taken from a standing position with the camera/phone held at chest height so Karlie may be looking above the camera into the photographer's face, while the photo of Kandalyce was taken from a squatting or seated position.

The photos are interesting for several reasons:

Seems strange not to take a photo of Karlie and Kandalyce together. (unless they haven't been released by police)

Karlie appears, as others have said, to be a bit annoyed and taken off guard. She certainly didn't pose for the photo and it seems to have been taken quickly.

The most puzzling aspect, is why the photos were kept for 7 years. The photo of Karlie was as unremarkable as it was unflattering.
It would have meant transferring the photos with phone upgrades or stored on a computer.

That the photos were kept suggests they were important to the photographer, both at the time, and for the subsequent 7 years.

I agree. VERY strange.
Keeping them suggests a relative. If it was stored on a computer, the dates would come up in the JPEG format. Same with a phone.
So it's possible the police know the actual date these photos were taken and are keeping that to themselves.
If you look at the earlier pic of her, with the drink in her hand, she is very tanned, and looks different. I find it weird that she is so pale, and seems to have lost quite a bit of weight.
I sure hope she wasn't on the drugs, it would be so sad 😞

Re the post about "known drug routes"

Could this be it, Puggle?
It is Theodora's paraphrase of The Australian article which was at the time paywalled:

"Police know they stayed in caravan parks etc in and along the way between Darwin, Adelaide and Canberra. Police are investigating how she supported herself and Khandalyce and an Alice Springs local told the Australian that the route from Darwin to Adelaide and Canberra "are all known drug routes"."

EDIT: LOL - same :)

This video is several weeks old but has been playing on my mind.
It discusses the forensic investigation into the suitcase contents and shows forensic scientist, Chris Pearman, examining a couple of items of clothing.
One looks like a very large rugby type top and the other a pair of black shorts or pants. If they are in fact items from the suitcase they seem far too large for Karlie or Khandalyce. Maybe a man's?

Of course, this is all hearsay by the public, printed by the media IMO.

I think the statement of $25000 drug debt could be misleading. It may only be considered a drug debt because someone gave her $25000 cash and under duress gave Karlie orders on what she had to do or face horrible circumstances. IMO
<modsnip>

Paraphrased: Police have said that they [Karlie and Co] stayed in motels, caravans, cabins. in multiple places.
Detectives have been exploring how a single 'unemployed' mother has afforded to support herself travelling between Darwin, Adelaide and Canberra.
These are all known drug routes one Alice Springs resident said.
Questions about Karlie drew unprompted drug references. One class mate, they said was heavily involved in drugs.

Artistic licence?
Murdered young mother Karlie Pearce-Stevenson had a drug debt to the tune of $25,000 before she was killed, an informant has told police.

<modsnip>

I haven't been able to find anything where the police themselves have considered any drug connections. But I can't get in some papers because of lack of subscription, so I could have missed it.

In the photos Karlie has hair that has had blonde highlights.
They may have had some strands of hair that had been exposed to the elements which indicated shoulder length - but did not want to "guess" what colour her hair might have been.
(This is only my opinion)

:) thanks!!

That's made me wonder if they have found DH DNA on some items which will be evidence for him being charged. But as they were in relationship surely there may of been some there anyway.

If you would post the link for me please where you referred to... SAPOL have even considered it themselves...that Karlie was a drug runner. It's something I may have missed and I need to be up to speed with all articles, so if you would help me out, that would be great.

Ug!! That wretched article from The Australian! One day it's paywalled, the next day it's not, then it is paywalled again!
I have a screen-shot just in case it disappears again, but I guess that's no use here, is it?
