Although it's the same image on the front, I think the top is different as it doesn't have the spaghetti straps over the shoulders that the other one had?

Oh yes ! I realise that :) I was just showing, I guess, that the image was on a whole range of items. Sooner or later someone will find that singlet top with the image.

It could very well be a cotton singlet top. I just thought that the fading looked more like the item had chlorine damage.

Its gumtree.au when i click onto the photo. But the add has been removed.

Hi, by the way!! First post been lurking ages :)

They might be in the suitcase amongst the things that have not been displayed for the public.

Yes, possibly. Though that begs the question of why police have decided not to show any of her toys or other belongings to the public. Surely a favourite doll or a toy she often slept with would help to identify her - more so than all the generic clothing we are being asked to look at.

There's also the question of how much more could have fit into that little suitcase. Even if many of the 50 or so items were degraded to near scraps, there still wouldn't be room for toys in there.

So I think it's still a pertinent question: where are her toys, and and all the other paraphernalia associated with looking after a child?

We we haven't even seen essential items like shoes - only one slipper.
Much seems to be missing.

Ok, back to the quilt:

The piece to the right of the camel (ie third one down on the right hand side) - could this be Big Ears from Noddy? I can see a red hat and a face and a blue top, as below:

I don't think it is the whole body; just the head and shoulders. What do you think?

Computer just ate my reply. I have been looking at that section too. I cannot zoom in much without it being too piexaleted. At first glance it looked like a jelly baby to me, but that just could be where the black flecks have landed on that bit making it look like a face.

I did find a jelly baby print but it won't let me upload it. Here is the link. http://s3.amazonaws.com/spoonflower/public/design_thumbnails/0159/3973/rrrrjellybaby_shop_thumb.png

I don't have time to post a comparison image but I think it looks like the Disney Little Mermaid, I can sort of make out her red hair and tail.

A sharp-eyed community member has identified a jacket identical to one found with the remains of a little girl near Wynarka last month.
They noticed the jacket for sale on an auction website and it was brought to the attention of investigators with Task Force Mallee, who contacted the would-be seller in New South Wales.

Detective Inspector Greg Hutchins, from the Major Crime Investigation Branch, said the jacket’s seller had graciously donated it to police and it would be closely examined in a bid to identify its manufacturer and where it was sold.

“This is another piece in that jigsaw puzzle,” he said. “We are continuing to examine all the information in this case and each detail brings us a step closer to finding out who this lost little girl is and who took her life.”
Anyone with information about the jacket, or that may assist the investigation, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at https://sa.crimestoppers.com.au/

If the top and the dress are both Roxy, does that mean they were bought new? Do they have any salt reminiscent to a coastal visit?

Wynarka is indigenous for "The Strayer"

Was it a targeted drop?

If one doesnt exist, a gallery centralised image board of collective images per thread topic would be great for those fast moving threads where content can be lost in the vast amount content. People not referencing (quoting) images in discussion makes it hard to keep up.
There is a php forum feature that enables image gallery setup by users. If that is manageable.

I love your idea. Another character that wears a blue jacket and a red hat is Paddington Bear.

I can't seem to upload the picture, but what about something like this:

Or here's a bigger one:

This Twitter account says they are starting a GAF Logo April 2013. They may be able to help police with their distribution network? GAF were one of the clothing items. That would mean the clothing item is under 2 years old. If it is the same company.

Is it possible that the maker of the quilt did hobbytex? Very popular in the eighties. It would account for why this pumpkin pattern and picture just cant be found. They may have purchased the plaid fabric and used their hobbytex skills for the picture? Is anyone familiar with hobby tex and would it keep so well if it was hobbytex painted? Also isnt hobbytex fabric a little fluffy? Just throwing in more suggestions.
There was a 7 news item which including an interview with a lady (Sue) who worked at a shop called Bridge Agencies in Murray Bridge (now closed), and she said she remembered all the fabric that had been identified so far, but especially the pumpkin fabric as they had sold alot of that. I am sure the video is on one of the facebook pages.

Thanks for the updates. Here is another article about the jacket.

"Police hope a new tip-off from a member of the public could lead them one step closer to identifying the dead body of a young child who was found dumped beside a highway in South Australia.

The child's remains, believed to be a girl aged between two and four years old who died up to eight years ago, were discovered by a motorist on the Karoonda Highway, east of Adelaide, on July 14.

A sharp-eyed shopper alerted police after noticing a jacket for sale on eBay identical to one police had found along with a faded suitcase, other items of clothing and a degraded quilt."

Oona, in Photobucket are you copying the IMG code or the IMG thumb link for your image? Once you've done that all you need to do is paste it into your message box.

Thanks Makara, will try that.
Little mermaid quilt patch?
