Thank god for CCTV around the place. Yes the moaners say it does not stop crime. (Well I think it does when most druggies see cameras more often than not move to a "Quieter" area. What the CCTV cameras do is provide footage, timelines and evidence so the mongrels can be caught. So it you have nothing to hide, in my opinion you have nothing to fear with CCTV ...Take care folks
I agree. If you have nothing to hide; hide nothing.
btw Nice to see you around, Robbo. I used to read your blogs a few years ago.
I saw a comment that was interesting on Facebook, from a person who was born in another country, saying that in overseas universities there is a big plug from the Australian government encouraging student exchange programs and selling the idea of Australia, and Melbourne in particular, as being 'safe' and 'the world's most livable city'. So it makes sense that an exchange student like Aya would probably have her guard down thinking she is safe because everyone told her so, when in fact she wasn't. So yes I think awareness programs through universities, and buddy systems etc might be useful as well?
On Channel 9, 6pm news, Aiia's father stated Aiia had the choice of studying in New York or Melbourne.
She chose Melbourne due to safety.
Her father also stated, he wanted her to travel to Sydney to see the sites while on holidays.
She postponed this, to be able to travel NEXT MONTH with her father.
MOO.

There is a video of inside his house. If he was on bail how was he allowed to live like this? How is that rehabilitated?
I find this case totally depressing, cant think of anything whatsoever that could have prevented it, too many like this guy, time bombs waiting to go off.I had to find another link as I'm not subscribed, but yeah he obviously didn't have anything of himself together. His crime is his responsibility alone, but at the same time we have a clearly high risk person, in and out of jail, in and out of the foster system (I heard elsewhere), what does the government think will end up happening to people like him? It just seems like he coasted around, with no family to keep him in line, no support in the Aboriginal community, squatting and doing drugs and whatever he wanted, never thinking about consequences. I think he has a child's mind in an adult body, and as he becomes older and the testosterone kicks in harder, he has become and will continue to become more and more dangerous. I hope he never gets out, but I have a feeling he eventually will, and then what will happen?
Tom Meagher, whose wife Jill was killed six years ago, has spoken out about Masaarwe's death and male violence.
"I am so thoroughly sick to my stomach of men murdering women," he wrote in a post on his Twitter last night.
"The human cost of male violence is staggering, the incalculable social trauma and human misery it engenders is soul destroying. It's weight is intolerable."
He added a 'rest in peace' to Aiia and 'love to her family' at the end of the tweet.
