Australia Claremont Serial Killer, 1996 - 1997, Perth, Western Australia - #16

Can someone tell me if the Claremont Speedway was only on Fri nights or was it on Sat and Sun. I read there were training days on weeknights but need to know about racing on Sat or Sun nights. MOO

On the Australia Day weekend in 1996 I believe it was on for a couple of nights because there was a final for USA Vs Australia speed cars series listed there which would've bounced the usual fixtures unless they opened twice that weekend.
I posted about this awhile ago. There were a couple of you tube videos of the race on that week, and a couple of adverts for it.

Hi Kambo - I worked in Gugieri St the night SS went missing. When I started on Websleuths I was convinced the Speedway was on that same night. Haven't been able to find out after a lot of searching. Since it was 20 years ago I may have gotten confused about noise from Speedway that night but I used to work every Friday night so possibly in my mind that night was the same as every other hot night in summer when Speedway was on. Anyway I do know I was working the night she went missing. I do know how it affected me emotionally and physically for two weeks after her disappearance.
I am convinced the accused CSK used to go to the Speedway. I can't find it now but it was mentioned quite a while back that he did. So it interests me about the white Landcruiser outside the accused's Kewdale home in 2014 with the sticker from 1997. I always felt he hung around the Speedway area and walked over to JR or drove from that direction. She seemed to be waiting for someone coming from Gugieri St. The only thing is I think JR went missing on Sat night. Will check. MOO

Canning Vale's timeline which is great btw, has SS being abducted early AM hours of Saturday 27 Jan. JR early AM hours of Sunday 9 Jun. CG early AM hours of Saturday 15 Mar.

Hi Pandit and Canning Vale - thanks so much for the info. Instead of checking your timeline CV I stupidly tried looking up the dates the Speedway was on to match with the girls disappearances. Not very easy. Not sure the Speedway thing will go anywhere. Would just maybe place accused in the area around Speedway. If he knew a guy who raced there ( and his family) he may have hung around there after races till long after spectators had left. MOO

Remember the ads of the radio and TV well. They always ended with>
"Friday night is Speedway Night!"
And he went to the speedway often since he joined Telstra. He worked closely with a bloke by the initials DF. DFs family was a speedway family.

Looks as if the only plant they put in was the tree covering a window in the front of the house, it grew quite a bit in one year. I wonder if that's Vinnie's bedroom and the tree was planted in effort to deter peepers. He knows they're around.

Aside from that, this house has no personality whatsoever. There's nothing to be seen about the people who live in there, choices in pottery, colour or decoration, it seems to be completely lacking in care. Perhaps intentionally devoid and utterly boring.

Considering the years he spent at LA, he'd have been known pretty closely by other committee members. I wish one of them would jump on here for 5 minutes to tell us a bit about what he was like, even if it's incredibly mundane.

I found it interesting when he thanked Catherine for helping him step out of his 'comfort zone' to fill the role in the first place. Whether that means he was shy, or lazy, I'm not sure. You'd have to say it appears he lead an incredibly unremarkable life for 99.9% of the time.

BRE while president wrote a number of reports and I too found them interesting. His writing revels what type of person he is regardless of what he has or hasn't done. I am amazed nobody else has read his reports and made comment on these. The 2009 report shows a lot about the person he is and also how he operates as a person. PS and he mentions clowns.

BRE smart yes, clever yes, confident for sure, organised yes, control freak I think so and deceptive for sure.
The 08-09 Belmont Little Athletics Centre report gives some valuable insights into the mind of the alleged serial killer BRE, it revels His personality irrespective of what he alleged to have done. Some interesting points for me, he wrote 5 seperate parts for the report, one as the President and four as the other roles he also undertook, he was very committed and declared how successful the committee was, considering he made up most of it. He also acknowledged it was overwhelming when dealing with too many things at once in all the roles he filled. This shows he understood himself & situational pressures but was able to handle it and let readers know. He is a confident & self assured man. He was thankful and full of praise of his committee members for their skill and talents & acknowledged this from his own position of President. This act assumes the view of his own superiority over them by his own ability and belief to pass qualified judgement. His use off the words I, me or titles are used to add strength and merit to the information he provides to readers. He was willing to be quite critical of some things that have happen over the year and unashamedly expressed it making others look bad. He is strong mined and a dominant person, willing to push others but I would like to see how he handled criticism when levelled against him. It seems he can also see, understand and handle problems but more importantly he likes to have the power and be in control. He set up (from nothing?) and ran the website "religiously" making him very tech savvy so therefore could assume (with other known tech skills) he would understand things like the deep or dark web & tor/i2p (unidentifiable web search, invisible internet etc) and assume that this could be used for his own invisible internet use. LA Report contributors also personally, thanked him, while unknown if it was genuine thanks this does show he was good at what he did. His reports also highlight his attention to detail & his controlling drive for organisation success. He also took personal pride in this success as well as satisfaction of being the person in charge. BRE also mentioned clowns as part of the real "fun day" (his like for clowns shown or coincidence) and how successful the committee was fulfilling the "fun family fitness motto". He is very goal focused and enjoyed not only personal satisfaction in being successful but outwardly needed to express his role and part of this success, so others could see this. (not the quiet achiever, very proud of his achievements). He also gives away a deeper personal desire, by expressing that he liked sitting back & watching the athletes and socialising with people when he was finished with the busyness of running LA , in light of who he is alleged to be, this could be helpful how he could of scoped his victims (at least his later ones) not random but calculated. The Financial report (not written by BRE) indicates Telstra contributed to LA, wonder if BRE helped in securing this, how much authority did he have at Telstra? He also likes it that every t is crossed and i dotted, he is a stickler for details, showing obsessive personality traits. He likes to point out problems and how they are solved, he is a critical thinker & a problem solver. He also demonstrates a good understanding of organisation structure & procedures & incorporates this in his problem solving ability that is necessary for success. BRE is confident, intelligent and a dominant person who strives for success in areas that appeal to him but this would not necessarily apply to all areas of his life. His critical nature and problem solving attitude would make him hard to live with at times but it also means he would handle crisis situation very well, as he would have preplanned ideas and be able to deal with immediate problems by quickly working out the solutions on his feet. Not all would find his dominant leadership style appealing. His ability to organise also saw him receive the centre administrator of year award & later on a community award, maybe he did like collecting trophies?
The report does not prove BRE is a serial killer but does provides tremendous insight to BRE as a person and I am sure others will have their own thoughts and opinions on this. It must also be noted that BRE has over the years has interacted with hundreds if not thousands of people through his schooling workplace & social life (he was not a recluse), I would ask "where are all his supporters of innocent" ? With talk of set up, conspiracy, corruption or wrong person, where are the protests or petitions? instead there are only keyboard warriors who post **** on blogs or "mystery people"who have enough evidence to topple satanic governments & high flyers involved in child pornogophy and snuff films. BRE not entering a plea at all speaks volumes, if he is not guilty, it does not make sense to wait for evidence to plea, not guilty is not guilty, his decision not to plea only makes things darker even if others have taken the same approach, I believe an early not guilty plea would have gained him public support. High level & police corruption and incompetence is a fact but it doesn't mean authorities have the wrong person now, there are a lot of guilty people behind bars. This case will be based on evidence that will be microscopy analysed by many experts & amateurs in Australia & the World. The police are building the best case they can and will not solely rely on DNA for a conviction.
The LA report is a public document and there is no copyright or laws that exclude it from being in public domain as far as I am aware but as others are identified in document care is required in what is said about them.

Tracey left Cheers Nightclub, 120 Lydiard St, Ballarat on 3am Sunday 22 November 1998. Tracey’s body was discovered at Clarkes Hill Rd, Pootilla - 17kms east of Ballarat. heraldsun.

I’ll be researching speedway’s within close proximity, but they may have closed by now.

Very interesting Canning Vale, thanks. Sandown Racetrack (horses) and Bairnsdale Speedway I think are too far away at two and four hours. Calder Raceway though is under an hour travel from Ballarat and had far bigger meets than any in Ballarat through that time period iirc. I was quite familiar with Calder back in the day and many would travel from Ballarat to race.
