Makes me wonder, since she was a local in Toowoomba, if the property is hers, or if the land belonged to her family. If they have been married for a long time, it is very likely, because 20 years ago, from my viewpoint, life in Australia was quite affordable, but today, not so much. So what was a small inland city has suddenly become an attractive destination, and an expensive one, too. I think this might be the whole story in a nutshell, sadly. If he had a girl in every port, that doesn’t speak “a huge, unexpected, secret love.” It means “a man prone to affairs on the budget.” Greed. JMO.
 
I wonder if that was where he usually slept, alone on a couch.

If that is the property where Frances died, maybe the bedroom has bad memories for him.
Perhaps that's where IT happened :eek:

I hope they go over that house with everything they have.

Honestly? I think his attic is sparsely furnished, tbh. RAAF has pulled his photos off the websites from the get go, indicating that they were washing hands off the oncoming scandal. Predictably, they did not enjoy the worldwide publicity. What should one do under the circumstances? Keep quiet. What did RC do? Happily made the Airbnb listing for the house that’s the very scene of a suspicious death with an ad that looked like a page from a dating site.
 
I don't think QLDPOL believed his ridiculous story for one nanosecond.. I reckon they nodded and smiled and offered their condolences and got in their cars and sped back to base at high speed and began an in depth, no holds barred , gold plated investigation of SQ.L. Crawford that very morning.

They let him spin around being AirbNb guy, Mr . Smoothie Sleazo all over the place, and watched his every move.

I don't know if everyone listened to the video in this ^^^ link posted by @brissygirl2019. It is Det Spt Marchesini reading Frances' family's full statement to the media at today's press conference.

I can't find a link to the whole presser, but there is a little more of it in this ABC News video. It is only a short news video ... 1m 40s.

At around the :51 sec mark Det Spt Marchesini responds to a question about more details, and he replies that he certainly doesn't want to jeopardise the integrity of the investigation before the courts ... that he is unable to make any comments about circumstances leading up to Frances' death. And he later says that they have had a number of people provide information to them.

I was thinking about that when you mentioned a crowbar being able to tip a ride-on mower. Maybe there was a crowbar indentation in the ground that the (alleged) killer couldn't see. Or a jack mark on the ground, if a jack was used to tip it.

I wonder @SouthAussie … are the mechanics of the event known publicly yet? Was the mower fully tipped if known? Or maybe it was placed to make it appear she was pinned against the retaining wall? Pure speculation here. But there didn’t seem to be any damage to the mower in that picture of it on an uncovered rollback tow truck. Granted it was a limited view of the front only. MOO

I think that the idea to send all-women group to arrest him was very good. His risk of fleeing or attempting suicide or resisting would be much higher on seeing a group of male officers. The fact that they read him his rights in a soft, pleasant voice was also good. There are more women serving in the military nowadays, of course, but through his life, Mr. RC has been used to receiving/giving orders to men. His life is compartmentalized, and women occupy a totally different niche, partners in fun, in attending museums, traveling, appreciating music, joking. Something to consider in the case.

It is interesting that his list of hobbies listed in Airbnb is very "urban". Yet the Airbnb is in the middle of nowhere.

No, the details are not known as the police won't say the circumstances that led to Frances' death.

But lots of older articles say it was a "rollover". Probably what the husband said. imo
Do I believe it? No. Not if it came from the husband who has been accused of her murder.

Every chance that the poor maligned motor mower is entirely innocent, dragged in as a prop to explain her injuries.... the whole mower thing had whiskers on it from the start, he got his story all jimmied up in the excitement of the moment.

He got the timing wrong, he got the cause wrong, he got the location wrong... I don't think QLDPOL took it on board at all ,

Even the way they slung poor old Mowy onto the low loader had an insouciant air about it, as if to say, 'ok. we'll indulge your dippy story , for today, we'll be back tomorrow'....

Was business as usual, for him. But watched like a hawk. Sounds like Baden Clay murder of his wife. And seems like police suspected him immediately. Not so smart now of the accused
