Just thinking about Gary Tweddle today

:)... I still have a look every 7-10 days at the Coroners link for Upcoming Inquests... haven't seen anything lately ... will still keep an eye out.

.

No, I have found nothing, but have been checking the Coroners Upcoming Inquest lists most weeks - which has been beneficial keeping up with other cases - but nothing yet regarding Gary Tweddle.
I am wondering if the findings will be requested to be made private by the family?
But I will keep looking.
Though I think Main Stream Media would publish something.

It will not be long before the 1st year anniversary of Gary's disappearance and passing.
His family are still in my thoughts.

I have been wondering whether this case could be similar to the Jamie Gao case.

I was thinking of Gary today ... it has been almost a year since he went missing. So I took a look at the Have you seen Gary Tweddle FB page, and I noticed some comments on a post there. It seems that a plaque has been laid in the Blue Mountains in Gary's memory, presumably on Sublime Point somewhere. Just wondering if any locals have seen it?

Log on and look for comment dated 11th January ... under 2nd post down (by JT) in Recent Posts by Others. (Sorry, it won't let me do a direct link to the comment or post.)

Found a link with a picture...
...you can see the plaque at Johns Blue Mountains Blog -
http://johnsbluemountainsblog.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/sublime-point-leura-nsw-australia.html

I will be going that way soon and I'll get a photo and place it on here.
Possibly around near the 16th - the 1 year Anniversary in just over a week.

I too have been thinking of him and his family lately. I've also just seen on FB that there's another woman missing in the area, last seen in Katoomba I think. She's from Wangaratta VIC and had young kids :(. I'll find a link to the FB page BRB.

Thanks so much Humdinger - I didnt know about that :tyou:

The ladys name is Elise Ann Ashmead.
I have placed a Missing Persons thread for her here:
http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...e-Ann-Ashmead-36-y-o-BONDI-NSW-26th-June-2014
She was known to be in Katoomba on the 26th of June, but she has not been seen since.
Police do not think she has left the area.
I hope she is found soon. She was from Bondi.

Have been checking the Coroners Court Upcoming Dates - nothing as yet still.

Good find .. thank you Figs! :seeya:

It sounds as if it is placed as close as practicable to the area where Gary was found .... along a track which branches off to the right about half way between the car park and the picnic area.

So so sad :(

I also can't believe it's almost a year since Gary went missing! I hope his girlfriend and family are all doing well.

Oh this is very sad :(
Thank-you for letting me know.
Prayers for Elise's children, family and loved one.
The report said an investigation is underway and a report is being prepared for the Coroner. (MSM)

also found this re the plaque on a geocaching website

Thankyou bearbear - Great find! At the cache, there is map coordinates of its location. I'll put a link to it here too (save me doing a screencapture)

@SouthAussie - I think you're right - I know where it might be - there was a little clearing where a container of white Lilly's were placed on a rock beside the track on the day that Gary was airlifted out - and opposite that spot is near where I think they felt Gary had fallen from.

I'll go Monday, as there are a few tourists around on the weekends - might be quiet Monday.
I have purple sweetpeas in the garden. I will take a little bunch from us all (if no one minds).

Purple sweetpeas sound lovely. Thank you for offering to take them. :tyou:

I imagine that someone from Gary's family and/or circle of friends will be there this week to commemorate the 16th July. It will be nice for them to see too, and know that Gary is remembered by many.

I am going on the 16th (anniversary date) - Wednesday - and I'll go in the morning.
Today didn't feel right. Lovely day though outside.
I hope Wednesday is as sunny too.
Will take a pic.

Picked some flowers from the garden today and went to Sublime Point.
The weather has been overcast, but the wind is mild, and there were fleeting patches of blue sky.
I walked the track. I was very quiet except for the little native birds that flit through the trees and the undergrowth.
Gary's Memorial was where I thought it might be - opposite the tub where the lilly's were placed nearly a year ago, nestled in the foliage to the side of the track. The new tub now contains a selection of white, frosted and clear glass beads which you can place at the memorial. I chose one out and put it beside the others which were there.
I also placed our flowers and card alongside.
'Thinking of you Gary, from all at WS'

I sat and enjoyed the view and looked at the memorial for a time, and then headed back down the track.
