Discount sale for Wildenstein site

- The multi-million dollar Blue Mountains Wildenstein estate where nine-year-old CM was allegedly murdered is being prepared for sale.

- A real estate agent told Daily Mail Australia the property was coming on to the market soon and the alleged crime which took place there would have to be disclosed as a 'material fact' to prospective buyers, lowering the sale price

- Neighbours report a woman was in the company of JS living in 'a brown hut' on Wildenstein for several months in late 2021, when loud music, visitors and vehicles disturbed the tranquil Blue Mountains village

- Police allege Ms M, 39, broke into a property known as Sylvan Close in Mount Wilson on the evening of August 22 last year. (Coincidentally that is also the date of the mum's next court mention.)

She may also be in rehab because she would otherwise be homeless and police don't want to lose track of her.

I'm sure of that - she's the only key witness and possibly may be laid with charges herself. I'm starting to have awful suspicions that the pair of them were not in their right minds at all even at the time they took little CM for xmas :(

JS next Court date has appeared on Lawlink, 2nd September, 2022, at Penrith There are only 3 charges listed and all are listed for "Further Mention (Committal)". Yet, the last media article regarding these cases back in July stated that JS was facing 9 charges.

Snipped from article dated 15th July 2022:-
"JS, 31, appeared in Penrith Local Court on Friday after being charged with a raft of offences, including murder and possession of child abuse material.
On Friday, Penrith Local Court was told JS had not entered pleas to the nine charges laid against him.
His matter was adjourned until September 2 to allow all of the evidence to be served on the defence."

Crucial piece of missing evidence in schoolgirl CM’s death

The alleged killer and stepfather of schoolgirl CM will remain behind bars awaiting a crucial piece of missing evidence in her death.
Lawyers for JS, 31, appeared in Penrith Local Court on Friday. He faces a raft of charges including murder and possession of child abuse material.

JS’s lawyer, Peter Katsoolis said he was yet to receive a “crucial” ballistics report from police, prompting the case to be further adjourned until October.

The stepfather of schoolgirl CM, accused of murdering her and dumping her body in a barrel, will remain behind bars while the court awaits a crucial piece of evidence.
Lawyers for JS, 31, appeared in Penrith Local Court on Friday. He faces a raft of charges including murder and possession of child abuse material.

As a result of investigations into CM’s death, police uncovered a break in at a neighbouring property in 2021, during which two firearms were allegedly stolen.
While in custody at Silverwater Jail, JS was charged in May with two counts of possessing an unauthorised firearm, two counts of possessing an unregistered firearm, and one count of possessing ammunition without authority.

He was also charged with two counts of possessing child abuse material, which police assert is not related to his stepdaughter.

Mr S’s case will be back before the court on October 7.

‘Awaiting critical piece of evidence’..

Anyone remember this happening before where the DNA was sent overseas and it took quite a while.

It’s extremely unsettling if it’s what I’m thinking.

Otherwise ballistics(?) but they don’t have a gun unless if it was the neighbours stolen gun then he may have a sample of a spent round or casing.

I think that the 4th sentence below is possibly going to be the critical one.

Ballistic evidence is used to identify the type of weapon that was used in the commission of a crime and other details of the crime—for example, where the shooter was standing in relation to his or her target.

It may also tell whether a weapon used in one crime has been used in the commission of another crime where identical ballistic evidence was discovered.

Ballistic evidence—including gunshot residue, angle of trajectory, distance from the target, bullet entrance and exit marks, and damage—are often used to reconstruct the events that transpired in the commission of a crime.

For example, a person who says a gun accidentally fired may be proven truthful or untruthful by forensic evidence that shows the trigger pressure of the weapon, the angle of the gun when fired, and the distance from which the gun was fired.

I seem to recall the stolen guns were confirmed as not being the ones used. That the murder weapon was being searched for and never located IIRC ~ what links can ballistics provide? I wonder? Maybe I’m mistaken?

Is it possible for witnesses give statements that they know of someone to hold / carry a particular type of handgun and therefore show a likelihood of it being the one used even in its absence?

If someone is shot at point blank or close range by a handgun can ballistics and pathology estimate the height of the shooter?

Can they tell if someone accidentally shot themselves?

KM, mother of allegedly murdered CM, pleads guilty over home invasion

She did not appear at Katoomba Local Court on Monday where her lawyer Bet Turgut entered a plea of guilty.

Ms Turgut told the court KM was currently in a rehabilitation centre.

The matter was set down for sentence in October at Campbelltown Local Court.
