If BR only drove as far as Calder Park and back, he should have been home within about 35-40 minutes. If he left around 10:30, he would have been back by 11:10. Police appear to be saying that there's 100 minutes unaccounted for, which would imply that instead he arrived home around 12:50. Perhaps that's confirmed by CCTV or is for some other reason undisputed. Today police are said to have arrived with a Mercedes at Oakley Drive at 12:50. What does it mean?

Apologies if I'm repeating, as I'm catching up on news and posts tonight, but that wouldn't be Karen's original car. It would be a duplicate for the reenactment.

Karen's car would have been taken apart during forensic testing. Seats would have been unpicked and pulled apart. Screws and bolts would be undone to test for seepage of body fluid etc.

My understanding is that the testing of the car initially was done by forensic detectives in site at the house. Ive watched enough crime shows to know this wouldn't have involved removing seats, fixed carpets etc as that gets done when a vehicle is taken to a separate facility with high tech equipment. Similarly, getting fault log from the merc's computer, would involve some specific software (stuff on license from car manufacturers to service agents) aswell as interpretation of codes. This would either need to be done off site and processed by Mercedes or require a Mercedes technician to have attended during initial inspection of vheicle. For it to have weight and hold up in court, any collected data would require Mercedes head office/specialist to be involved.

Maybe police are also wanting DNA of a recent driver of the vehicle (BR, VR or SR.) that they haven't perhaps already obtained?

Perhaps, if the car was driven along the same route, police are hoping the owner's of CCTV footage will be flushed out by rabid media wanting footage ...and by putting this far superior CCTV footage out in the media etc those involved can see amount (angles, various places etc) and quality of CCTV footage there is ... Given that only cctv footage that has been released is grainy this might make them sweat a bit more?? Concoct further stories?? Dig their hole a bit deeper?

Was the yellow tape only on the passenger side?

Not sure it matters ....

I couldn't see that thingy when it was driving around. Could it be the top of the garbage/stuff on the kerb or maybe a camera?

What jumps out at me is how filthy with dust the back tyre is compared to the front.
It's a rear wheel drive so it suggests someone has been driving it hard on some dirt roads. Again that back wheel arch has gone through some potholes.
Hee hee, yes, cylindrical object might just be a piece of junk on naturestrip [emoji849]

Security footage has revealed the moment a luxury black Mercedes was driven in and later towed out of the driveway of the home of Karen Ristevski's husband Borce in what is believed to be "staged police activity".

https://au.news.yahoo.com/vic/a/36480909/cctv-karen-ristevski-mercedes-towed-melbourne/#page1

Now why would the police drive the car into the driveway .... then tow it out.
Yes there is the cctv, the timing.

Please tell me Borce does not have a finger in the tow truck business.
Tow the merc away and give it a good clean up and under away from prying eyes.

The most direct route from Avondale Heights to Mt Macedon is via the Calder Fwy. There is no need to take the Diggers Rest exit and head over the train tracks where CCTV saw the black Merc.
You would however take this exit if you were headed towards Blackhill Road, Toolern Vale. Perhaps this is where Karen's body was first dumped which led to the searches around that area in December 2016.
However, I cannot fathom how the main suspect in a murder investigation would be able to relocate a body without LE being right on them??

Yes.... I could never understand why they keep saying it was captured on cctv heading towards the bush grave "Macedon" ...

The Diggers rest turnoff doesn't flow for me as being the route to travel there either...

Going by the pings ..... I'd say there was definitely a stop off along Blackhill Road.

It may have been pointed out before but the timing also fits with the phone being off for two hours. Avondale Heights to Diggers Rest, about 20 minutes; 10:50 if BR left home at 10:30. Phone pings at Diggers Rest, say at 10:50. If BR gets home at 12:50, there's two hours which could well correspond to the phone being off.

Whoah soso that car was under police escort, I wouldn't think anyone could get the chance.

I'm thinking it was driven into the driveway to finish the exact route and timing.

It would be satisfying if .......

The GPS Navigator that they confirmed they sent to the US for testing...

Come back with all this Data ..... which is hard for the ley person to understand...

But when they do a recreation ..... film it... and show a court that all this gobbledeegook Data is the same...

Hope that makes sense..

No I meant did he have it towed on the 29th June 2016.

Twas a bit tongue in cheek.

I agree and since he's open with going to diggers rest area i think that's where he turned off his phone

Missing Persons Squad detectives have spent months tracking down the owners of just about every similar car in Victoria and have eliminated all of them as being the driver of the car in the CCTV footage.

They haven’t been able to eliminate Borce Ristevski as the driver they are looking for.

Great news! Not long to go now. Hopefully the remaining car owners come forward/are interviewed soon.

Brilliant sleuthing by everyone yesterday. The times have been really interesting to take into account. Wonder if anything will happen today.

11:12 am (Diggers) to 12:50pm (Oakley Drive) - is that 98 minutes?
Pretty close to 100
I thought his return journey home was a different route. Didnt police collect cctv data from around coburg way as well. So I thought he travelled the the Calder highway , Tullamarine freeway to get to coburg?

Not being local, I am struggling to guess at his possible routes there and back. But it sounds, to me, that he spent a fair bit of time off the main highway. Perhaps to avoid some CCTV. Perhaps wavering about where to dump his car contents. Or perhaps was scattering the contents in different places.

Could he have left the main highway around the Calder Park Raceway .. seeing that he was so okay with saying he drove there, then turned around?

The car was caught on CCTV on Old Childers Highway, at Diggers Rest. The police searched around Blackhill Rd, Toolern Vale, and checked CCTV there. 'A man' was seen by the car on Childers Rd, Mt Macedon, about 1.5km from Karen's woodland disposal site.

I have looked at these places on Google Maps, and a lot of it is off the main highway.

Last month police released CCTV footage of a car similar to the one that she had owned that had been in the Diggers Rest area, between Avondale Heights and Macedon, on June 29 last year. The footage shows the black Mercedes SLK coupe travelling north along the Old Calder Highway that morning.

And detectives searching for the missing mum in Melbourne’s northwest have examined CCTV cameras from the Toolern Vale General Store ....

CFA crews connected pumps to dams in paddocks off Blackhill Road in Toolern Vale, with police divers also joining the search.
Police are remaining tight-lipped on what sparked Monday's massive effort, but say they are confident they will find something in the area that will help crack the baffling case.

The car, seen in the Childers Road and Mount Macedon Road area, was on the wrong side of the road about 1.5 kilometres from where her body was found in February.

What we DO know from this exercise today is that there is a LOT of very good CCTV from the houses along the street.

Imagine being one of his neighbours right now!? Perhaps another reason he is leaving the house before daybreak every day. Gives me shivers thinking about him going to them and asking if they have footage of Karen leaving.

Wonder how many friendly waves he gets from his neighbours. lol
They probably cannot wait till this is all over and they can get the media off their street.
