You can conveniently reach the river by turning in either direction along Oakley Drive. Either through the vacant block or (apparently from the map) via Peerless Court and an easement. "In the direction of the Maribyrnong River" doesn't mean much. The river winds about. If you go far enough, it's in every direction except north.
