Appreciate your insight regarding money

Have a young fashionista namely my daughter along with my future daughter in law who is a doctor and neither of them would contemplate buying such. Big sign of insecurity.

Not exactly the same but a good indication of what they're worth.

Really! I wouldn't even spend the shipping price on a bag, hee hee 😃

Wondering who is supplying the business acumen. How on earth would you know what to buy, from what I can gather it is quite a specialised field in the retail industry (especially women's clothing, being cut throat). Maybe Karen being astute and perhaps nurtured her business from scratch was angry with family members telling what to do when they really didn't know what to do !!!!

if you follow the Facebook page , back in November a whole lot of new stock was coming through, and I'm assuming the older stock had the 50% mark down. The store may stay open till they get rid of all the new stock that was probably ordered by Karen before she went missing .

Yep Istapuzzle, says a lot.

Emirates, I get your point. It is unlikely that Sarah had the kind of money to buy that bag herself. And their purchases/loans for expensive cars, house and clothing seem totally unrealistic considering the huge debts they had.

They lived a life of pretense. Pretending they were/are high fliers when in fact they were/are not.

Yes, the bag could have been a gift. But if it was from Borce/Karen, then it was even further money spent in the wrong place.

.

What does it say??

I wouldn't worry about it too much. We're all here to talk about the case. People have opinions about extravagance and they're entitled to their opinion. Just like you don't have to justify yours.

I don't think it's a big deal that she has a Chanel bag. Many people do, I'm working class & own a couple of real ones myself.

It could've been a 21st birthday present. What I was saying is if see fallls on hard times she could sell those things but never a present for her mum.

Most likely it is a knock off, she was going to China on regular basis, they make some good quality fakes. Not a big deal imo

I don't think her bag was a knockoff . We have seen SR wearing coach brand shoes as well. They may be shared with her mum or could be presents from her 21st or she may have used money she received from her 21st to purchase these.
Karen owned a nice clothing boutique. The dresses that are on the Facebook page are gorgeous fir a special occasion. Those items would attract a nice price tag. I think Karen had expensive taste and her clothing she was selling I think reflects that as well.

yes ur right, I just don't like being told I'm insecure for owning a Chanel bag. The judgements on this forum kill me

I was thinking that if Sarah was working in the shop every day since July, she probably had to defer her course. They would have needed at least one trained and trusted person in the shop, and somebody here reported that other staff had recently left--to Sarah's anger if I recall rightly--when Karen disappeared. So perhaps they couldn't find suitable staff or couldn't afford to pay them properly. Without Sarah, the shop couldn't run, and I imagine they couldn't just close it down without losing the value of the business and perhaps still having rent commitments on the space for a period. The best thing in that situation would be to try to sell it, probably an especially slow process with rumours about of the family's financial difficulties.

So I can understand Sarah feeling stuck and hopeless and her friends wanting to raise money to send her back to school.

Yes. Though I'm not really understanding about the Uni stuff. HECS takes care of that until she is earning a certain amount of money and repayments kick in. And books can be relatively inexpensive. My daughter finished her nursing degree just a few years ago. We expected the books to cost a fortune, and they would have if she bought them new, but she got them all for great prices in the used book store and online from ex-students. Spent easily just $100 on books each semester.

Anyway, it looks as though Sarah is going to have to continue working, and is hopefully earning some money and not working for free, to continue her education.

Because I am afraid that she is in the shop, not due to being mentored or having experience, but because they cannot afford paid staff.

I see things that irritate me too but know that his forum brings all types together so try to let it wash over me & keep scrolling [emoji39]

What does it say, um, probably that i couldn't give two hoots about where my bags come from, hee, but that's just me, we all like different things. I'd rather spend five grand on a holiday or something. Kr embraced fashion, that was her thing, we're all different 😊

The authenticity of the Chanel handbag is so irrelevant. Who cares whether she paid $6 for it in Bali or it is the real deal . It's stupid to even speculate. It ain't going to solve a murder !

We always go off on tangents when we are waiting for more news. Lol. Waiting waiting waiting!

For sure the bag is real. Her mum probably had lots of designer items. If I wore a chanel bag id feel like everyone would be staring at me as i dont buy designer statement stuff - i wouldn't wear it to a funeral where ive been avoiding media and any extra attention. So i think designer stuff is totally the norm for SR. Maybe that adds to how much pressure br and kr were under to keep up their high end lifestyle for SR

Putting it out there. What if SR was the one that killed Karen and BR is covering for his daughter. IMO
