Another TLV podcast episode dropping at midnight, ie 5 mins from now, according to commentary on TLV FB page
I very much doubt IK was worth a lot alive to him but no doubt he could see her monetary value through her death. He just needed to put his ducks in a row to get to the major prize. There’s no way he would have inserted himself so close to the scene of IK’s death. If he did poison IK in the way he described to ER, he would have disappeared at least a week prior to her death.
It would be very interesting to see who was behind those legal letters demanding IK’s death certificate and the workers comp claims. Also who was involved in the distribution of IK’s mother’s estate in Brussels.
Yes I was referring to Liselles commentThere’s no way he would have inserted himself so close to the scene of IK’s death. If he did poison IK in the way he described to ER, he would have disappeared at least a week prior to her death.

It’s a pretty complex system, and poorly understood even by people who operate within it. Even in Australia, how many people could name all the schools in a 5 mile radius and explain who runs them? Moreso in the UK. The UK government would like to keep it that way! The buying and selling of schools in the Uk is also extremely “private” and “discreet” aka secretive and covered up.Yes, I'm sure it is technically possible. But for sure a very rare and minority activity.
Sorry Graham Childs BB policeIt came from Childs the bank manager
Go back to when SL talked about the bank early podcast.
It wasnt from WS.
Wow that’s extremely … specific. With a companion eh.From One of the sleuths, no idea which sorry.
1998
Podcast Episode number 3
Notes from Byron Bay Police Childs says, “one possible reason for her behaviour is that she has returned to Australia with a companion and has transferred the 80k to England to purchase a property there with a view to move to England.”
And give the money to me in cash.Just sell your property.
Illona has a strong resemblance to MB in that photo. It would be interesting to see a photo of DDH as a younger woman in 1997
Fantastic summary !!Somebody was intent on damaging her reputation as a teacher in Australia. Perhaps an anonymous phone call or letter to the school from a ‘concerned parent’ might have led to Marion being questioned and upset to such a degree she might have thought she had no future as a teacher in Australia certainly not until the fuss had died down.
She wanted a break from all the stress and upset and not knowing who had spread these vicious rumours where she couldn’t trust the staff at the school. Everyone would be questioning her in her eyes.
Marion/Florabella leave for a new life in Europe. I will help you buy your own school in the UK. We could get married in Luxembourg. I have a EU passport so working in England will not be a problem. I was once an international footballer in Luxembourg. It will take you back to your good times with Johnny Warren. I’ll invest A$125000 and you can invest the other half. Just sell your property.
We could have our honeymoon on the Orient Express. I just need to go to Amsterdam first.
Agree. The thing I can't get my head around is how he got her to keep it so secret for so long, no mention of a new boyfriend, or even alluding to an interesting new 'travel companion' in her postcards. Her behaviour indicates there was something very specific he told her: we can't be seen together or else....?? If you tell anyone about this then.....?? I imagine she would have been excited to tell SL (friends etc) about her real plans, especially marriage. He convinced her of something outlandish that she bought into and made her scared to disobey IMO MOOSomebody was intent on damaging her reputation as a teacher in Australia. So agree. Not sure the latest podcast has added much really. Sounded like it was in a school canteen! It’s not meant to be a sightseeing tour of Belgium. There was probably a few bits of useful info in the inherited debt and Grandmothers inheritance stories which someone might pick up on and explain to me. Sounded like he was still up to his old tricks whilst still in Prison?Absolutely can't believe that this podcast can record such an important sequence in such a noisy place. And they do it all the time! Can't they just offer a quiet room for these times, well obviously not. It's so unprofessional.
Academies were introduced in UK in 2000, Free Schools not until 2010, according to Google search. I don't think MB alone could have afforded to buy a private school, despite her estimates of cost on the postcard. A pre-school franchise possibly, but I sold a 2 bedroom terraced house in a cheaper area of South East UK in 2002 for £120k as a comparison. IMO this all came from RB.It’s a pretty complex system, and poorly understood even by people who operate within it. Overview
All children in England between the ages of 5 and 16 are entitled to a free place at a state school.
State schools receive funding through their local authority or directly from the government. The most common ones are:
https://www.gov.uk/types-of-school/free-schools
- community schools, which are sometimes called local authority maintained schools - they are not influenced by business or religious groups and follow the national curriculum
- foundation schools and voluntary schools, which are funded by the local authority but have more freedom to change the way they do things - sometimes they are supported by representatives from religious groups
- academies and free schools, which are run by not-for-profit academy trusts, are independent from the local authority - they have more freedom to change how they run things and can follow a different curriculum
- grammar schools, which can be run by the local authority, a foundation body or an academy trust - they select their pupils based on academic ability and there is a test to get in
Free schools can be set up by teachers. And by parents actually! Academies are run by a “trust” but that trust doesn’t always run more than one, and you can also just set up a trust just for that purpose. Private schools are even less regulated. Creepy
What is it?
Free schools are a way of improving choice for parents and driving up standards in schools for young people of all backgrounds.
The free schools programme provides teachers, parents, charities and community groups with the opportunity to set up new, independent, state-funded schools that raise educational standards.
Over 250 free schools are now open in every region of England, with more than 100 due to open from September 2015 onwards. Many have been set up by local parents, community groups or teachers.
How can I get involved?
If you’re interested in setting up a new school, visit the New Schools Network website for more information and advice. You can call them on 020 7537 9208 or email info@newschoolsnetwork.org.
The Department for Education (DfE) also has details of the process and the criteria applications will be assessed against.
Applications to set up a new school need to be submitted to the DfE, which runs 3 application rounds each year.
The process for setting up a new school has been streamlined. It usually takes little more than a year from the DfE granting initial approval for a school to the school opening its doors to pupils.
So, although the process for setting up a new school is rigorous it’s now much faster and simpler.
Less than a year, and in Australia I waited 3 months to get a license to own a lizard. >D
However, was it like this in 1997? It was not as developed but it was happening and I discovered when looking it up recently that there was a lot of talk/controversy/scuttlebutt that anyone would be able to run schools etc.
Do I think this was an actual possibility for Marion? No. Do I think she might have been told it was? Absolutely and there would be media and so on to show her to convince her
Exactly how it went down IMO too @Lord Peter Flimsy Spot On!!Somebody was intent on damaging her reputation as a teacher in Australia.
