Masa Vukotic funeral: Family, friends remember 'one of a kind' teen who was stabbed to death in a Doncaster park
Updated 15 minutes ago

Family and friends have paid tribute to Melbourne stabbing victim Masa Vukotic at a funeral at Springvale Botanical Cemetery, describing her as a funny, happy and sparkling teenager... Her father, Slabvuljub Vukotic, said the pain was unbearable: "It's hard, it hurts, it's unbearable, but we will try to be brave and courageous like you were," he said ...

Her father Slabvoljub said: "It's hard. It hurts. It's unbearable," he said. "But we will try to be as brave and courageous as you were. We'll do our best."

Finally her mother Natasa spoke of her "precious treasure", through uncontrolled sobs that spread throughout the room. She needed to be held to get through the moment.

"I know that this is not our final goodbye," she said. "Every sunrise ad sunset you will be in my heart."

George Halvagis attended the ceremony today (father of Mersina Halvagis) who was murdered 17 years ago at Fawkner Cemetery. I wonder if Mr Halvagis is a family friend, or simply reaching out at this heartbreaking time.

This article is beautifully written, gently relaying what is was like being at the funeral today:
Masa Vukotic funeral: Nothing can prepare a parent to bury their beautiful 17-year-old daughter taken too soon
MARCH 26, 2015 8:04PM

HOW do you bury your murdered 17-year-old child? Words aren’t enough to describe the heartbreak... When a child is taken by an unspeakable act, the parents’ grief is fathomless and fills the scene with a sense of dread... Masa’s father, Slavoljub, is hollow-eyed and grey with grief and sleeplessness... Mother Natasa and their two younger children, Petar and Nadja, have the “thousand-yard stare” of those in shock, like walking wounded after a battle, brushed by death’s wings" ...

Jill Meagher’s family to sue the State of Victoria
21 MINUTES AGO MARCH 27, 2015 10:42

JILL Meagher’s family are set to join a lawsuit against the State of Victoria that is likely to expose flaws in the parole system that have been blamed for up to a dozen homicides.
The Herald Sun can reveal the Meaghers will join the families of other people who were killed by criminals out on parole...:happydance:

Right behind you Meaghers, Cafferkey, Halvagis and hopefully, in time, Vukotic ... Hold the Victorian Parole Board to account. My opinion only.

sadly it took the death of two young women to bring the possibility of a change, pity it wasn't done way before masa, jill and others suffered the consequences of a flawed justice system
i know is never going to be perfect but let's hope it is an improvement
go in peace masa, you are missed

Reforms to plug holes in Victoria’s corrections system
March 27, 2015.

THREE outstanding reforms to Victoria’s corrections system designed to ensure dangerous criminals aren’t released on parole will take effect on Wednesday" ... "Police and Corrections Minister Wade Noonan said this week that changes to parole would make Victoria’s system the toughest in Australia" ...

Words!
Is this the Government in damage control? Just how did SP get released back into the community?
I hope the planned rally goes ahead on 12th April on the steps of the Victorian Parliament house.
I hope the Meagher, Cafferkey, Halvagis and hopefully, Vukotic families take legal action to hold the Government and Victorian Parole Board to account.
My opinion only.

SLAIN Melbourne schoolgirl Masa Vukotic will be remembered at a gathering fit for a princess.
THE memorial on Saturday afternoon, titled "Princess Marci's Royal Parade", will take over Queen Victoria Gardens in central Melbourne.
Those gathered will wear pink and many from the cosplay community will also attend.
Masa, 17, was fatally stabbed in a Doncaster park last week.
Her funeral was held on Thursday.

There's so many other families as well.. a class action might be in order.

And I am serious about that. ALL of these women and many other innocents would be alive/untraumatised today if this action had been taken when it became obvious it was necessary - because people were being killed. And it's not like the Govt were at any point unaware of the problem.

They just didn't have our safety and wellbeing as a priority. And IMO, they ought to be held accountable for that -- every single person/dept responsible.

The right opinion :aktion1:

The government is absolutely in damage control mode. Masa's murder is exactly the kind of tragedy they were supposed to have fixed after Jill's murder. They let out Adrian Bayley Jr. They chose to do that. And now a young girl is dead, her family will...I don't even know what to write, they lost their daughter in one of the cruelest ways and for what? Why was he let out?

I'm going to stop here before I say something that is against the TOS. Apologies if I already have...
