Paul Allan Miller is due for parole in 4 months (another Victorian repeat offender "with psychosexual problems").

I'm hoping the parole board make a sensible decision...though according to this article he'll be released in 2 years anyway, regardless of whether he's been rehabilitated. :shakehead:

People like this are often placed on detention orders after they have served their prison sentence.

Counting Dead Women: The issue we need to talk about
MAY 05, 2015

Jenna Price, along with others, has undertaken the grim task of compiling a list of all the Australian women who die violent deaths. Most are victims of domestic violence.
"The project, Counting Dead Women, has already recorded 34 deaths this year ... it’s devastating that large sections of the community appear to “accept” violence against women as a fact of life - particularly in the wake of Sunday’s much-publicised fight involving boxer Floyd Mayweather, who has a long record of domestic violence...

Is there any progress on this case? Can't find any links on websluths but with this guys history I'm surprised by the lack of media attention. Am I missing a new link somewhere?

Masa, 17, was killed on a Doncaster walking path in the early evening on March 17.

The man charged with her murder, Sean Christian Price, appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates Court for a committal mention hearing on Monday. The hearing was adjourned until August 17.

Mr Halvagis spoke to Masa's mother, Natasa Celebic, at the vigil.

He said it was important to attend the vigil and show Masa's family that they are not alone.

"It brings back a lot of memories," he said.

About a dozen people attended the Flagstaff Gardens vigil, most echoing Mr Halvagis' sentiment.

Nicole Bushett, 17, came to the vigil to show that she would never forget her friend and would support the Vukotic family.

Wearing Masa's favourite colour, pink, Nicole said what happened to Masa could happen to anyone.

"You think something like this could never happen to you, and then ..." Nicole said. "This should never have happened."

Wearing a pink wig, business analyst Katalin Kish said she wanted to show Masa she cared.

"I, like everyone, am upset about what happened to Masa and I want to show that it is wrong," Ms Kish said.

by Steve Butcher

Sean Price, charged with the murder: His lawyer announced the decision to plead guilty on Monday morning in the Melbourne Magistrates Court... Crown prosecutor Michele Williams, QC, confirmed the resolution...

He's pleaded GUILTY. For the legal eagles among us, where does this leave it now? What happens next?

"I don't want to plead to it because I didn't do it," Price told the court via video link.

"They're playing games," he said, before launching into a rant, prompting Magistrate Charles Rozencwajg to warn him he would cut the audio on the video link.

Price also pleaded guilty to one charge of robbery, while other charges of robbery and assault were withdrawn.

The outburst shocked onlookers, including Masa’s father and supporters who burst into tears during Price’s rant about lawyers, the media and police.

Price yelled that he had been duped by lawyers and the judiciary saying he had become “public enemy number one”.

He could be seen waving his shackled hands around, via the video link, and objected to being committed to stand trial without a preliminary hearing.

Ms Vukotic's family did not comment outside court.

KILLER Sean Price studied serial killers Ivan Milat and Thomas Quick in the weeks before murdering schoolgirl Masa Vukotic.

On the day of his arrest Price told detectives: “Good chance it was me.”

Hours later, during a five-and-a-half-hour record of interview, Price admitted to police he killed Ms Vukotic on March 17.

Today he pleaded guilty in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court to one count of murder and another count of robbery.

It was revealed Price borrowed books on killers Milat and Quick from his local library as well as reading up on policing, crime scene investigation and forensic investigation.

The day after the callous killing he returned to the same library, researching his own cold-blooded murder.

The day after the callous killing he returned to the same library, researching his own cold-blooded murder.

Just 20 minutes later he had arrived at Doncaster’s Park and Ride. It was 10 minutes before he met Ms Vukotic, who had gone out for a walk after having a meal with her family.

Price grabbed the teen, forced her into some bushes on the eastern side of Koonung Creek Linear Park in Stanton St, and stabbed her repeatedly.

Price walked out of the bushes after seeing a man walking a dog, but continued his attack after the man passed.

Ms Vukotic died from stab wounds to the neck. Post mortem tests discovered 49 wounds on her body.
