Detective Superintendent Rod Wilde said the Cold Case Homicide Squad had received many leads from the public since the new reward was announced.
The investigation team is back in Kalgoorlie to follow up some of that recent information, he said.
I think, from memory, it was brought up on an earlier CSK thread. It was discussed at some point whether Sarah might've been mistaken for one since she was standing on a corner waiting for her taxi. Now that BRE has been charged, discussion of alternative suspects has pretty much ended on the CSK thread. A Lisa Govan thread has been started but is dormant at present.I didn't see this anywhere and couldn't find a particular thread for Susan McMahon so thought I'd post it here. It's the Coroner's finding into Susan McMahon's disappearance. Apologies if it has already been posted somewhere or there is a thread.

I wonder if police have looked at all the attacks on sex workers with regards to Donald Morey.
(Just and edit to say that I'm not implying Sarah was a sex worker. I meant that with regards to Morey's conviction for attempted murder of a sex worker and because he has been linked to Darylyn Ugle.)

Can anyone find out what was Leopold Minerals address was in Perth in the 1970's? I want to know if Leopold's office was anywhere near the Paragon Arcade, which became Centreways Arcade in the 1980's and is now called 160 Central?

Thanks. I'm working on a hypothesis that assumes that the person was working on old information and was not aware of any changes since. Possibly they were in prison, obtained the information third hand from a prisoner or a relative, and acted upon out of date and mistaken rumours. To test that, I'll need to know if the bag of clothes was dropped in a place (the kebab shop in Centreways) that back in the 1970's being Paragon Building might've made sense to Julie's family, if the prep was seeking a ransom, in the mistaken belief that the Leopold case either resulted in a large windfall or was detrimental to the perp's family. It's a huge long shot, but it shouldn't be hard to test it and thus rule it in or out based upon the answer to this question. IMO.It became Kitchener Mining in 1976. That may help you in your address search.

It is interesting to note though that relatives of Julie Cutler had friends who knew Sarah Spiers. It's only a casual link, but might serve to bring focus upon solving Julie's disappearance.

What leads credence is the phone call to the journalist, which the content of might not of been fully reported. It would've become apparent to the perp though that they might've got the niece instead of the wife once her dad held the press conference and it was Roger and not Brian on TV.I could see the direction you were headed once I found some old articles. There are director reports that are available at SLWA. They range from 1969 which I assume would include the time it was Leopold Minerals. I am not sure if they would contain an address.

Although Roger believed that her disappearance is related to CSK case.

IMO there are differences in the case which appears that Julie was stalked and thus her disappearance was premeditated.
And why that might be is what I'm trying to work out, in case that leads to solving this mystery.

Lisa Govan has her own thread, so I'd presume that's best. sleuthers will find it.I've wondered if Lisa Govan could be the work of the CSK.
It's not long after the spate of killings in Claremont, especially taking into account that Lisa Brown went missing in the intervening period. It is a woman heading home after a night out who just vanishes from an otherwise populated area. I think the bikie venue is a red herring, unless there's evidence about which we are unaware that links her to them.
(Am I supposed to put this in the CSK thread? Unsure as it's not directly related to that, just musing about her disappearance.)
Not very much to go on in her case, though.

If you read back through, you'll notice that 3 potential alternative suspects (other than the CSK accused) have been discussed.Very interesting theory!
I agree that there are a few features of Julie's disappearance that are inconsistent with the CSK and point to something else.

1 of which is deceased, David Everett, who had held up a family for ransom with other former SAS soldiers turned criminals,
and another suspect, who's in jail for killing his parents, Vernon Silich, who would of been a kid when his father, a police officer was working on the Leopold Minerals fraud case.
