I wonder about what else was in that room/on the table at the time. I think police forensics photos may show a far different portrait of that apartment. As the photos are now, the apartment presents as a rather nice tidy unit, as if the cleaner has been through. Perhaps that's what he was doing in all that time before he presented himself to police....ie....cleaning out any items/evidence.
As with most who are on murder charges, they'll attempt to cover their backsides all the way. And as most,who have followed murder cases would know, the accuseds are notorious for their fancified stories and lies!
