Imo. I cannot see them taking one mattress and leaving another. . Surely that would be a big error on their part if this was the case.

Yes probably would have taken the other unless they know who was using the double and wanted to check who may have been using the single

If this story is true I imagine his van wouldve still been at the office and he walked up the street to meet for coffee then across the road to the school and back to the office to pick the van up to attend the afternoon job. post #776 in this thread

I've been wondering if BS drove his van that day, maybe he was driving one of his other cars- something a little less recognisable, since he had more social commitments than work commitments that day. I don't imagine you'd need a van to do a couple of repairs. A recent media release stated police had returned two of three cars, there was a picture of BS with his van in the background and the finger print powder was clearly visible. Im guessing police are focussing their attention on the third vehicle.

IMO, LE would have had WS on their radar within the first 24 hours of WT disappearing, because of his recent being at grandmas house about her washing machine repair, and organising to return with the required part. That would have been enough to justify LE interviewing him. If after one chat everything seemed totally legit, why would LE want to talk to keep talking to him?. I can't find clarification of how many police interviews took place, it was mentioned up thread that he was spoken to three times before the home and office raid/ before the general public were aware of him. I am getting the feeling that things didn't add up and there were inconsistencies in interviews with LE, and as Belz pointed out, maybe CCTV in Laurieton didn't show WS to be where he said he had been at the times he said. Maybe with all of these inconsistencies WS was being watched by the detectives that continued working on the case and maybe his actions were dodgy.

'Mr Spedding took part in a 10-page recorded interview with detectives soon after little William l went missing on the day the tradesman was due to fix the toddler’s grandmother’s washing machine.'
'As they checked out everyone’s statements about where they were on that Friday, detectives allegedly found some inconsistencies in what Mr Spedding told them'

http://m.theaustralian.com.au/news/...rs-disappearance/story-e6frg6z6-1227195227854
'One of the names that popped up early in their inquires was that of Bill Spedding; the tradesman had visited William’s grandmother a few days before the toddler’s disappearance to look at her broken washing machine. He was routinely investigated, along with others who’d had contact with the family in the lead-up to William’s disappearance.'

This article then goes on to say
'At some point a decision was made to step up the investigation into Spedding, and he was interviewed'.

So I don't think WS's septic tank was drained and his house and business turned upside down just because of a crime stoppers tip off

What bothers me about this is that if police did in fact have BS on their radar early and William may have been in his office is what took so long to search it. Could he have been saved in those early days? It makes my heart hurt..

Detectives, including homicide detectives from Sydney, spent much of today searching a unit above some shops in Laurieton.

An employee of a shop underneath told Fairfax forensic officers had taken several items from the scene.

He said he believed a man and a woman lived in the unit but said he had never seen anyone in the office space where police had focused their investigations.

BBM. So we are talking about 2 separate spaces, the office, and the unit. The unit apparently according to the witness used by a man and a woman, with a mattress? I doubt BS and MS would be staying there, so who could be. Family member? Are the two properties rented by the same person? I feel like the police are excluding some critical information about the search, evidence, and potential POI/POI's.

He had never seen anyone in the office space where police focused their investigation. Is this the office space that BS evidently walked from over to the café ?

They probably just didn't have sufficient evidence back then to gain a warrant.

Is it normal that police wouldn't put out a reward of some kind for a missing person, or has there been one put out already? Just thought it might be a strategy to try and get more info for the cops.

Some time ago, I was trying to find out why police offered rewards in some cases and not in others (because the Kylie Blackwood case was frustrating the heck out of me).

There is not a lot of info out there about their strategy, but from what I could find, it seems that rewards are mostly offered in cases where:

. The crime is severe
. The provided evidence is critical to the prosecution of the criminal
. There is a potential risk in an informant coming forward with information.

Which does not preclude private citizens from putting up a reward for info about their missing loved ones, but they can be very subject to abuse and scam.

That would be a very devestating thing indeed.
It makes me sad to think that when LE did start searching they obviously had their reasons to drain WS's septic tank and sift through his overgrowth. And remove a mattress and computer from that seedy looking pawn shop building.

Mr Spedding took part in a 10 page recorded interview with detectives soon after William went missing.

Published 5 Oct 2014 - Acting commander Tony Joice who is leading the task force investigation - said officers need to rule out any potential leads in the "astonishing" case.

If you were in Kendall area we need to know
What you were doing
Who you were visiting
What car you were driving
What you were doing there
he said its about putting the pieces together.

22 Jan - It is understood Mr Spedding has been previously interviewed on two occasions. The second time he voluntarily returned to give officers a statement.

He does seem to have been on the radar from early on. imo

Top investigator appointed in search for William Tyrrell

Jan 29

"THE homicide squad took over the investigation into the disappearance of William Tyrrell shortly after he went missing but are still not completely convinced the three-year-old is dead.

The Newcastle Herald can also reveal one of the state’s most respected homicide investigators, Detective Inspector Gary Jubelin, has taken over the lead role in the investigation just days after police searched two properties belonging to a local handyman.

Detective Inspector Jubelin, who has locked up some of the worst criminals in the state and was portrayed in an Underbelly series for his conviction of Anthony ‘‘Rooster’’ Perish, will now be the officer in charge following the retirement of Detective Inspector Hans Rupp "

BBM - Oh I hope he is not.

Bonny hills handyman who had been inside Williams grandmothers house.

Yes the inside the house bit stood out for me too.

I so hope he is alive and well.

It has been referred to an office and a unit. They are one and the same. Google is your friend.

Oh now I get it. Thanks

Back in September I was 90% certain I had identified who WT was with when visiting Grandma. I didn't look back once things went quiet and I only remembered last night about it. Interestingly absolutely every bit if information (social media or otherwise) on the "guardians" has been removed from the Internet. That is quite some achievement and leads me towards what others have mentioned in terms of protection at the highest level for the guardians.

At the very least he had to have been in her laundry to determine what was wrong with the washing machine.
Has there ever been any word on the man asking for directions to Bunaroon Dve?

I see that too but rather than any 'conspiracy', I'd guess job vacancies are the reason for removal iykwim. Im not commenting further because Im scared this is breaking rules...

Job Vacancies, have no relevance to the info I found :)

I don't see it as that shocking or surprising that the washer repairman was inside the Grandma's home. How else would he know what part to order other than examining the washer? And I would think the repairman had been in at least a hundred homes in the past---most with kids as well. Just wondering why this one was different.

if you arent sure whether you are breaking the rules it may pay to re-read Tricia's post on pg 22 :)
