7:29pm September 12, 2016

A $1 million reward, the largest in New South Wales history, has been announced for information that leads to the arrest of the person who abducted missing toddler William Tyrrell, or for the boy’s safe return or recovery.

William, then aged three, went missing from the backyard of his grandmother’s home in Kendall, on the state's mid-north coast, on September 12, 2014.

[...]

"You’re in a much better position if you come to us than if we come to you."

Det. Insp. Jubelin also said the investigation was "a long way" from going to a coronial inquest, and that police did not believe William's family were involved.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT IS WRITTEN BELOW. YOU MUST FOLLOW WHAT IS OUTLINED OR YOU WILL BE TIMED OUT OR BANNED!!!!

Thanks to DrSleuth for your help in writing up the information needed for the discussion.

Here is what we can and cannot discuss.

No identifying the biological family, the foster family or any associates ( ie siblings, etc ) or their addresses, places of employment or childcare, etc

They can be identified as bio mother etc & female foster carer etc

At the inquest, they are known as biological mother & father. Foster family are known as FFC ( female foster carer ) MFC ( male foster carer ) FFGM ( female foster grandmother ) etc
REMEMBER THE ABOVE PEOPLE
CANNOT BE IDENTIFIED USING THEIR INITIALS.

Prior to the coronial inquest, the bio families could be identified, but it was overturned by the coroner for the inquest.

I am very sorry it took me so long to open this thread back up. Please keep in mind we are short handed so if this thread starts to get out of control with alerts we will have to close it again.
Please do not hesitate to alert but make sure the alert is truly needed. We have experienced a lot of tit for tat alerts and that makes me foam at the mouth, grow hair on my hands and my teeth turn into fangs. In other words please be sure when you post you are posting within our terms of service.

Thank you,
Tricia

I will keep posting the information as soon as we are certain everyone understands who they cannot identify. One more time:

So, does that mean it's OK to discuss any other books on the subject?

There is no blanket approval. Please contact a Mod or Admin with the name of the book and the author and we will make a decision.

Chumley's book "Searching for Spiderman" is not approved.

Gary Jubelin's book and Caroline Overington's book are the only two that are approved for discussion at this time.

I think they should be okay - as one is a journo and one is an ex-lead detective on the case - but I will alert on my post and see if a mod can clarify how we should reference. Whether that be the book and page number, or a screenshot of the specific excerpt from the page of one of the allowable books.

IIRC stormbird was putting up screenshots when she spoke of particular passages from Overington's book.

Both books can be discussed.

Always give credit to the author. Book title, page # and paraphrasing or brief quotes are allowed.

Screenshots and more extensive quoting requires approval of the author (the copyright holder).

Do not try to get more content in by breaking it up into multiple posts.

EXCLUSIVE: Human remains expert who cracked one of Australia's biggest murder mysteries reveals HOW he'll try solve the William Tyrrell case

A 'body finder' who help discover the remains of murdered schoolboy Daniel Morcombe says the dig to find William Tyrrell's remains is a 'more complex' job.

Speaking exclusively with Daily Mail Australia before going to a high-powered meeting with detectives at the Tyrrell search command post, water science expert Professor Jon Olley toured one of the possible burial sites now cordoned off by police tape on Wednesday morning.

William Tyrrell: Body-finder who helped solve Daniel Morcombe case speaks | Daily Mail Online

It is distressing to see photos of little William and read the term searching for a body. It must be horrendously difficult for everyone involved to do a search like this.

Ozgal can you post that again about the object thrown from the car.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.da...ps-driven-foster-mother-morning-vanished.html

A NSW Police source said officers believe an object may have been thrown from the vehicle as it was driven along Batar Road at Kendall. That area is the middle of a massive forensic police search.

Daily Mail Australia has also learned the alleged unspecified object is part of the focus of forensic search currently underway for traces of William, about 700m from his foster grandmother's home.

Ok so here are aerial shots from the house and the Batar creek/Cobb&co road from the 19th September 2014. So a week after he went missing. I have searched the bushland nearby and you can get very detailed photos and you cannot actually see anyone still searching the area.

You can see the date of the image at the top left. You can also see the water flow / topography in the Batar creek/Cobb&co that they were talking about with the experts brought in.

Happy to supply more from different heights, locations etc. I have an aus nearmaps subscription. Just give me an address and will post if related to case

If I was a police officer, I’d ask all the obvious people (immediate family, those in physical proximity) for permission to conduct searches, so I wouldn’t need a warrant. If someone refused to allow me to search without a warrant, I’d turn my focus to them.
Thank you CleaverGreene.

This confirms what I thought and what I have seen in other cases where LE say, "the family are cooperating with us".

Now, this makes me wonder if no one ever asked to search the FGM's car at the time.

Were the FF simply trusted at face value? LE scared of offending them?

I've never heard of this happening before.

If the FF were asked and they said no surely there would be red flags.

With them searching for a discarded object, does this mean they think it could be something he was struck with.
All of these searches are very targeted, I had faith in the FPs, I even considered with BS lawsuit they were covering all bases by publicly investigating the family like they should have in the beginning, but this is not looking good for them, this information is obviously coming from somewhere solid.

I was listening to the Where's William podcast yesterday. I find the 3rd stop after McDonald's a bit strange. They said both children fell asleep, and they stopped to put night-time pull-ups on them. The sister was already 5 at that age, and most 5 year olds wouldn't need a night time nappy. Even for a 3 year old, I found it a bit odd that they'd wake him for it, when they were halfway to their destination anyway. If my 3 year old fell asleep in the car, I'd never wake him as I'd never get him back to sleep. I wonder if that stop was really something else?

Yeah it’s an odd one, I’m struggling to think what the object could be? Perhaps a weapon, or medication that could have been involved in an incident? Unless it’s the Spider-Man suit, although you’d think that would have been very noticeable with it’s bright colour
